- Alfred Thompson Bricher: A collection of 251 paintings (HD)
Description: "Largely self-taught, Alfred Thompson Bricher was a businessman in Boston from 1851 until 1858 when he became a professional artist. He studied in his leisure hours at the Lowell Institute in Boston and also attended an academy in Newburyport, Massachusetts. In the 1860s Bricher followed his contemporaries to the popular vistas of the White Mountains. There, particularly at North Conway, he studied and painted with Albert Bierstadt, William Morris Hunt, Gabriella Eddy, and Benjamin Champney. Bricher was a prolific artist and in 1860-61 alone records 20 finished paintings. Attesting to his popularity as an artist, as well as the popularity of his subject matter, are numerous chromolithographs made after his work. In 1868 he moved from Boston to New York. In 1874 he became a member of the American Society of Painters in Water Colors. He was elected an associate of the National Academy of Design in 1879. During the 1870s he devoted himself almost entirely to marine painting and spent much of his time exploring the coast of Maine, Narragansett Bay, and the Jersey Shore. His paintings were exhibited at the Boston Athenaeum, the Boston Art Club, the National Academy of Design, the Brooklyn Art Association, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago."

Thanks for all support!
I enjoyed studying these immensely. Thank you!!
Again I am stunned to see another unknown ( to me) painter. Wonderful stuff. And...self taught. Amazing!!
Incredible paintings, the capture of light is unreal. Im in awe
You have become a serious resource for me. And im so appreciative of all you do! Your taste is exceptional. And everything about your videos are done exactly right!! Thank you!
Excellent paintings and landscapes. Great sunrises. Great clouds.
Awesome paintings and landscapes.
Phenomenal Video, beautiful paintings and accompanying music. Landscapes are not my usual taste but there's something about almost all of these that really impresses me. They have a crisp uniqueness of vision and design that engages the senses with awe and wonder. I don't know how such a talent isn't more widely known, visible or appreciated by art enthusiasts everywhere. Thank You for this introduction and splendid glimpse of an artist whose humble awe and respect for the beauty of nature inspires the reverance and infinite grace available to all.
Maravilhosos !!O maior pintor de marinhas do mundo!!!
I've been a professional musician all my life. I love paintings and am deeply grateful for these wonderful videos. I don't understand why there is music. Must everything have a soundtrack and doesn't that impose a mood on the paintings displayed?
Wonderfull done in colours. Congralation
excelent landscapes!
Breathtaking beautiful landscapes.
Mr. Colin who complains below about the quality of the photography should clean his glasses. The quality is outstanding !
Awesome paintings
I saw some of his work today at the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC. My favorite was "A Quiet day Near Manchester" 7:35. It looked so real, I had to make sure someone hadn't put a photo print in the place of the original, lol. Indeed an extraordinary painter!!!
Great arts,..👍👍👍👍
Great landscapes
Thanks…
Hermosos y bellos cuadros gracias

Impresionantes marinas de una gran Belleza
Woww
who put all this paintings together and who payed for it and what is his reward ? anybody out there any guesses ?
Me. Nobody. None.
@@LearnFromMasters Ah, but who are you, Masked Stranger? Do you have a faithful Indian companion? Is your favourite piece of music the William Tell Overture? I'm genuinely interested, as thanks to you, I have discovered a lot of great painters who I had never heard of until I chanced upon your fascinating channel.
@@LearnFromMasters Hi what sources did you use to compile these? Great job btw and would you mind linking them? Or what art websites are considered your best resources? Wikiart does not tend to have all the paintings but it is a good starting point ive been using to discover archives of historical artists.
como puede ser Van Gogh más famoso que este hombre aquí sí que hay maestría
I think it is like comparing apples to oranges, perhaps?

Spoiled values by Photoshop treatment
?
Pointless to show something of such poor photographic quality, the artist is probably cursing at you from beyond
Well, I beg to differ. I'm a handicapped person who will never get a chance in this lifetime to b travel and see the originals. I can't afford large coffee table books of artists I love. It took work, however imperfect you may judge it to be, to put this together and I, for one, am very grateful.
It always seems that to give real weight and justice to such criticism as yours, really, you should show us how it it perfectly and properly done. If you have nothing better to show, why complain? It just comes off mean spirited. This artist, I believe, would be happy, thrilled, to know anyone still appreciated his work.
Some people have nerve
@@kimquinn7728 Thank You for replying to this unnecessary criticism in such an earnest manner. I don't know what moved me more...the artwork or your comment. Total respect here. May God bless, guide and protect you all ways / always. Sincerely, P.
