Going through the debate between the two, this really helped. Thought you were going to say soloist if you only had one! I think I'd skip the Cal5 due to the hose faff tax and run a soloist with some 30-32s
@@richardbanks5751 if you’re based in UK the Cal5 is on sale 30% with many retailers ! That could be significant in you’re decision. Both great bikes . But for me the Cal5 is a bit more comfortable- no sore back !
Hi Kenny!, thank you for your video, I'm thinking of changing my soloist for a crux because currently its on 50 off sale, what do you think, when i ride my solist my hands gets numb i know people say its the fit, but I'm just new in cycling, let me know your thoughts with the crus because i want to ride gravel as well, i can also keep my soloist although half of me says having 2 bikes is too much.
Most likely the handlebars to low - leaning to far forward . It’s an aggressive racer - so an endurance bike geometry may suit better . I use mine for shorter faster rides and use the Calledonia for longer rides
had a caledonia for a few weeks as my "foul weather" or emergency use backup bike. frame rode like a wet noodle tho! ultra smooth and comfy but insanely flex and sluggish. wanted to get a soloist frameset to build but they were all out of stock for a full year and now it doesnt make sense to get one since it will be a new model in 3-5mo...ohyeah and the caledonia was sooo big, deff size down if you ride a cannondale pinarello or trek. had a 58 but shoulda had a 56 for absolutely sure.
Thanks for the video! Looking at these two for myself for basically dry weather riding only. I'm not super flexible, though not terrible but I'm afraid the Cal5 isn't snappy enough or transfer pedaling efficiency well enough. Thoughts? I see you have about the same spacer height on both bikes. Did you consider sizing up on the Soloist to bring the stack higher? I'd like something fast and snappy but not at the sacrifice of too low a front end. Cheers!
Soloist probably has an edge in terms of speed just due to frame stiffness but ya, you're right. For us mere mortals, probably doesn't make much real world difference.
I got the first release in 2021 . It only came in black and white . I took the black one . The new release this year has some upgrades . A tool kit area in the down tube
Bought the Soloist a couple weeks ago in gold. She’s a beaut!
I love my Soloist. It's such a pleasure to ride.
Great video - although my anxiety was peaking on potential paint scratches from leaning both bikes against the brick wall

Crux a good compromise for gravel and road / 50% off great margins

Yes , I size 1 down on the Cervelo . Wet noodle lol . The cal a great 3 season bike . Really want to be on something zippier in the summer
When will a new Soloist/ Caledonia come out? Any News? Thanks in advance!! Why do you think its worth to wait??
If that's true I really hope they will add more color sheme
Love my soloist
I can’t get a identical setup, as the front stack is about 30cm lower . It is significant for my lack of flexibility unfortunately.

Just feels better riding at speed , more responsive
didn't Kenny G have a lot of solo (get it?) clarinet hits?
All day mate
"I would like to order the same bike that you have, the Caledonia 5. What is the name of the color?"

the new oasis color is a beauty tho
a bit hard to understand, mic seems over saturated at times
Perhaps I need to change my di2 battery
Your review was not very good sir
Sorry for that
I watched it again, it is good 👍
I want the soloist size 48cm, mechanical shifter
