Invincible actually respects its audience and treats them like adults, The MCU treats their audience like they are children. The MCU simply refuses to grow up.

I love invincible because their characters are so real and complex. Seeing mark struggle with his new responsibilities as a hero while still trying to be a normal kid, or Nolan’s complex feelings about his family and his commitment to viltrom are all amazing
I think a lot of people see the decline of the MCU as the superhero genre “dying.” But it’s not. People just don’t want lazily produced movies and tv shows being pushed out to meet a deadline. Just make satisfying entertainment that people enjoy. Invincible definitely is that and you can tell the people making it care about the show
@@unionpepe7864 how long did it take the Western to die? It took what a few decades? How long have we gotten big budget comic book movies? Since the late 70s with Superman then it died off in the mid 90s with Batman and Robin, Spawn, TMNT sequels, Steel, etc, until it was revivied again in late 90s to early 20002 with Blade, X-men, Spider-Man Batman Begins, then it peaked in 2010s with the MCU, Fox X-Men movies like First Class, DOFP, Logan, Deadpool 1 and 2, now it seems it reaching its mid 90s era
@luismedrano6680 yeah except there still really wasn't a superhero genre in the 70s, 80s, and 90s like the westerns were or superhero movies are today. We got a lot of superman movies and a few other superheros now and again. We sometimes still get westerners today. But nothing compares to the western rise and fall like superhero movies do today
Yeah gotta admit it was epic although my only complaint is mark fight against viltrimite(forgot her name) I’m not sure how it would feel mark being able to hold his ground against a thousand year old viltrimite compare to the comics which I believe got his ass whoop.
Between Invincible, The Boys and Gen V it is clear that Amazon learned the lessons from the MCU well and provided superhero products of which people is actually excited about.
When Omni man said “what would you have in 500 years” and Mark replied “I still have you”. That is the most emotion I have felt, in a superhero genre. No matter how bad anyone can be, even the darkest of all heart would cry if they were put into that situation. And Omni man flying away from the Planet with a tear show more character. Because he realise, he screw up his only true joy in his life. And turn Omni man from a his own kind too a human
I think they rushed Amber's change of heart too quickly. The amount of arrogance, obnoxiousness and general irritation she was in season 1 compared to her now is too wide, I would have liked to have seen them dialled her down gradually as a sort of character development. Now she's just like background noise.
I have a theory that Amber was done this way to replace her quickly for Atom Eve (wich is what happen in the comics), but folks complaining so much that they have to tone her down.
Yeah it came on too fast. Invincible never got a chance to talk about how she treated him and they never address her being mad at him. She’s just suddenly a good girlfriend and we just have to forget last seasons arc.

I really like the show. Even the gender/race swapping with some of the characters didn't bother most people. For example, Shrinking Rae, Green Ghost, Rex Splode, Mark's mom, Mark (he is biracial now), Amber, etc. Amber does not bother me or most people because she is black now. She bothers us because of how she treated Mark when she already figured out he was a superhero going out saving the world being the reason he was late to dates or didn't show up.
green ghost technically didnt gender bend cuz if im not mistaken there is canonically a male green ghost in the invincible show but he just retired (i think hes in the atom eve episode?)
@@VALIANTWEENUS Maybe the information that I read was wrong, but from CBR, it said: "One of the more subtle changes from the comics to Invincible in the Amazon Prime Video animated series is the depiction of Mark Grayson as a biracial superhero, with his mother Debbie now being a Korean American woman. For series creator Robert Kirkman, the change came from the opportunity to feature a more diverse representation in the series, such as making Amber Bennett, Mark's girlfriend in the series, an African American teenager. Kirkman observed that many audiences don't see themselves racially represented in the media, even in the modern era, and these changes were made to help remedy this."
@@eeeeee-tc8mp I just finished watching that, and you're right. He showed up when fighting the Lizard League. That was actually a pretty smart way to bring in some more diversity with that character, since I heard it is some kind of stone that gives a Green Ghost their powers.
As for Amber, I am still on the fence regarding how the writers will balance her out. I am VERY glad she becomes supportive and now understand why Mark has to do what he has to do. Its actually also justified why Amber becomes very supportive, specially after she saw how Mark is able to stop his Dad from conquering Earth. I dunno, I just need a little bit more, like a little acknowledging apology for her behavior on episode 7 to which Mark can say its okay and they can reconcile.
Honestly I’m not as bothered about the details as I’m just glad I don’t feel like punching the wall every time she’s onscreen and because I know she’s ultimately not going to be here for much longer because of Eve.
I’m glad I’m not the only one to notice - Amber is so much better this season, I really appreciate that the writers actually took the feedback and made changes for the better. It’s beyond refreshing and so rare nowadays.
I could tell from episode one that Invincible season 2 was going to be great. It even seems like they have a great villain origin story. Angstrom Levy seemed like a truly good person that wanted to help not only his world but many, many, many others. And when you think about it, he saved Mark's life when he took the helmet off. If he did not, the Maulers would have beat him to death. Even when he was in the middle of accomplishing his ultimate goal, Angstrom cared about someone trying to stop him enough to try and save that person's life. Now that he has the memories of all his alternate selves, combined with the pain and disfigurement he is suffering through, he now is consumed with hatred for Mark. Keep in mind that in most dimensions, Mark actually ends up siding with his father to take over the Earth, so Angstrom has a lot of memories of Mark doing terrible things.
@@CruzaderKnight Well, they didn't "splattered" so clearly they were strong enough to kill Mark. Or at the very least hospitalize him for a very long time.
One thing i love about invincible is the whole sci fi aspect of the show you literally have two major galactic factions in sort of a cold war, and Earth just becomes the the pivotal place for this war for the right reasons, WE HUMANS! Not because, resources or territories but because our genetic make up that match perfectly with viltrumites.
@@anushkachhetri2363 well it still lacks more mature themes, for example sex, altough nothing is really showed in the animation, but you do have the clear message of what is going on. People die easily closed to this super beings. I don't want see Optmius prime kick ass of Megatron for the 1 zillion time again, i already saw this before a million times, i want to see how a real Superman type of hero would deal with such powers and such universe that has OUR RULES in it. Invincible feels like it belongs standing next to the great animated serieses of the 90s like Batman, Spiderman, and X-Men. As a kid, I owned the X-Men TAS VHS with interviews at the end, and the writers all seemed very determined to write something that despite being made for kids, explored very adult challenges. Disney doesn't seem to understand that kids want to, and someday will, be adults. Not even kids want kiddie cape shit.
Man, with the MCU being so shitty, I finally decided to give other superhero shows a chance. Binged through The Boys, Invincible, Peacemaker, and currently working on Doom Patrol. All have been fantastic.
The best part of the "Invincible" comic series was that it allowed to end. Having a closure, it could maximize the potential goals it set for itself and would surpass it.
Still hearing folks saying Invincible's take on the genre is "fresh" is still a little funny to me since independent comics were doing things like Invincible since the mid 90s, and Invincible told its story at least a decade ago. But then mainstream audiences do live on a separate world from enthusiasts. Not saying I'm better than anyone, just acknowledging how easy it is to overlook things when you've lived with ideas for a long time. Check out Savage Dragon for the comic that didnt do a calm status quo between adventures that influenced Invincible.
They really did us dirty not releasing the whole 8 episodes at once. Edit : The show is that good I wish I could watch all of it, so I don’t know what people are whining about in the comments.

In my opinion why invincible works so well is because they do the most fundamental things so right, number 1 is STAYING TRUE TO SOURCE MATERIAL!!!!!!!!! And also giving writers creative liberties than aren't for political reasons but instead enhancement of the original work is why invincible will stay leagues ahead for some time. The comics were crazy and now they're being adapted, given the modern twists they deserve but in a compelling way that peaks interest curiosity and even a sense of wonder at how amazingly it all fits together. And the fleshing out of characters is something they do quite well. It's got a blend of positives working for it as a show and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!
Agreed, marvel and in general Disney has been producing garbage for several years now and they destroyed themselves. Invincible and the boys just took an opportunity to enter a dying market and take control. Same with anime, it’s popularity has risen significantly in recent years while Disney and other large American film companies have been declining steadily.
Marvel did the "everything come back as it was" Even in comics, it's not a film esclusive. Remember that Spiderman is still a 16 yo more often than not.
There is also the fact that Amazon is willing to learn. They fixed Amber's personality and self, saw that people liked the mixing up of timeline and such and continued with that, found out people love the side character stories and went ham on those. It's awesome.
They have a detailed roadmap with the Invincible comics so they didn’t change much. Although these days just translating the source material into a show without ruining it deserves credit. However they did respond to the feedback about Amber in the show so thats good. Looking forward to see how far they go.
@@vincer7824 Well they didn't need to change much except the fact they need some action in every episode to keep people entertained. The comics had luls that would bore the modern audience.
I just finished everything from Invincible until now, it's one of the better long form shows I've seen in a looong while... It shows perfectly that you don't need extravagant art like that of Arcane and the new Miles Morales Spidey animated movies, but can still bring a product that everyone loves. A strong and refreshing script is (perhaps more than) half the work, a talented cast of voice actors doesn't hurt either... The fact is, most of the actually good stuff that is refreshing the last few years has been animation. I already named two other examples, but even most live action superhits, like Dune, the Top Gun sequel and the newest Mission Impossible aren't that refreshing or great, they're good, but not great, they don't bring much new to the table. Arcane and Invincible are truly refreshing and truly great, even if, like Moon pointed out, Amber had a personality problem in season one, that indeed to what I can see, seems to have been resolved in the four episodes of season two currently out. It's alot like the young Ahsoka in the early episodes of the Star Wars the Clone Wars animated series.
I always felt amber was more angry about Mark not trusting her enough to tell her, less about being stood up. Especially when superheroes are commonly killed in the line of duty
I remember seeing a review on this show and before they talked about Omni-man, i turned off the video and went straight to prime. 10 mins in i was like wait what is this? I was confused but when I got to the end of EP1 I knew this was gonna be good. The mere fact that they showed Omni-man collapsing after his fight and that close up shot to his face. It shows that he knew his actions had consequences, the details tell the real story of this show. I hope invincible keeps this up. I love this show!
Together with the Boys, Invincible is shaping up to be one of the better superhero properties that openly competes with heavyweights like Marvel and DC that challenges the seedier side to superheroics.
And let's be honest, The Boys is honestly much better at dealing with feminist concepts and diversity. And the ending of season 3 that was basically an allegory to Donald Trump? That was gold...
There is more tension in the 1 minute scene of Omni-Man grabbing onto William's car and asking where Mark is than there has been in hundreds of hours of Marvel products in 5 years. I really think that what Invincible does so well is that it has a "no character wasted" approach. I can't think of a single character who wasn't expressing things and teaching us more about who they are every second they are on screen. Even characters slated to die or minor villains are fleshed out with motivations and a life outside of just chillin, waiting to get beat up. The fact that the Mauler twins play a huge role in a few story arcs like Robot and Angstrom is awesome, especially by taking the "hulking idiot brute" trope and making them genuine one of a kind geniuses. Everyone is constantly displaying who they are when on screen. Nobody is wasting time being a plot piece, an exposition dump, or a vessel for humor unless it serves to teach us more about them. That is the biggest piece of writing the MCU is missing I think. Too many characters who just are there for a spectacle, to make Love and Thunder tier "jokes" or to just be fodder for someone else's character arc. Mr. Fantastic was a great example of this in Multiverse of Madness. Hey, here's Mr. Fantastic, have a 'member-berry! He says a few lines...and dies after doing nothing. What a great way to spend 5 minutes of screen time.
Idk what is it about Invincible but I REALLY enjoy it, I’m not saying the story is a complete masterpiece it has small flaws which can be overlooked but I enjoy every second of it, the small title card gags between episodes and the comedic timing and the intriguing plot is so awesome as well as the well written characters. Allen is a real homie, Mark is an awesome main character, Omni-man appears to be an asshole dad but really cares about his son. W show.
It's just shockingly different. I had no idea what Invincible was before watching episode one and they made it out looking like an absolutely typical superhero show with some new teenager getting cliche powers. Like the movie Sky High. That ending totally caught me by surprise. It was crazy and enough to tie you down to watch all of it. Also the fact how they are not sugarcoating the mass death happening in all these fights, that they are in fact actual fights and wars, people and whatever else creatures actually getting hurt, torn apart and so on.
@@q45ij54q So true, the first half of season 2 really emphasizes Debbie as a character, and her life without Noaln and how she’s dealing with her Husband’s betrayal and her Son going out for college.. it feels so real, the pure sadness she carries during this arc is really admirable
Amber was always written that way even in the comics, I’d love to give them credit in listening to criticism of the character but her writing was intentional to emphasize the difference between superheroes and normal people in society. It was to emphasize the strain it should put on a relationship like that, yet omniman’s relationship with Mark’s mom shows what living in harmony is like. It’s because of how unique these comics are in the way they’re written, their messages that I love invincible so much!
Ironically there's more diversity in the Boys and Invincible than in Marvel movies. More LGBTQ+ representation too. Stronger female characterization and plenty of female characters all around.
@@yahiiia9269I don't know about invincible but the boys is fully self aware of what it is doing, the show actually feels like it's mocking society when presenting those stuff. Makes it feel more like a parody than an agenda.
@@gibbsduhem1066The only reason you see an agenda is because literally nothing else is there. Think about it, what personality traits does Ms. Marvel have, what are her defining moments? Can you name one? What is the story about? Now do the same with Invincible and the Boys. In those shows you can pick almost ANY character. The guy who has his eyeball fall out constantly in Pirates of the Carribean has more in-depth story-telling, more risk, more drama, then anything Disney has been putting out recently in Marvel and whatever. And Marvel in general is a mid franchise. It was complete with End Game.
Yes Moon, we need more vids like this. We live in a world where the heroes is perceive to be this un corrupted and morallt above all wrongs. I started watching Invincible and at first I thought the characters were kinda basic, but the story was really interesting. Now I see the characters are meant to be basic, its what they do that drives the story and depth comes as it develops. It's good.
Marvel have had most fails recently but the first trailer for Deadpool and Wolverine is the most watched trailer on RUclips ever. Yes even more watched than the Avengers Endgame and Spiderman No Way Home trailers. Deadpool and Wolverine is definitely going to be a success. I say Marvel has had most fails because WandaVision, both seasons of Loki, Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Spiderman No Way Home and Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 are all successful
Reserving judgment later in the story if they alter or take anything out especially with a horrible thing that happens to Mark and what results from it
This all happened due the grreedy execs at Disney. They saw how much the earlier phases of Marvel made and started going for quantity over quality. It's not supehero fatigue, it's Disney fatigue. They did the same thing with the Star Wars franchise. They need to slow it down and focus on good scripts and good actors so they can make good movies. They saturated the market with useless streaming shows on Disney Plus also
The build up from the ending of invincible ep1 to the finale of Omni Man v Invincible was masterclass. The only miss in S1 was Amber who'll be gone before the end of S2. S2 has been giving some really great episodes so yeah 👍🏾👍🏾
What I love about invincible is that they have diversity but they don’t make it all big and they still tackle big issues whilst giving us what we want truly amazing writers
I love Invincible, and Marvel still holds a place in my heart because of nostalgia. Still, I can’t deny that most of the content nowadays is getting worse because of the points you made. I feel like that’s also why Infinity War, Endgame, and Loki are more impactful. In Loki, Loki actually makes it so he can’t have any say in anything, and is there to just hold the world in p,ace for the sake of everyone else. On top of that, Loki doesn’t force as many crossovers as other MCU properties. Endgame and infinity war, they kill off characters. That’s why these properties are more successful than others. There are stakes

Another cool subversion of expectations is the Mauler Twins. You think they're, like, THE MOST TYPICAL villain of the day baddies for the heros to beat up once and forget about. However, they keep reappearing as it's revealed they're actually super geniuses that make creating a cloning machine look like putting together Ikea furniture.

Wtf does "identity politics" have to do with invincible. The issue with amber isn't "identity politics" or whatever your trying to imply, its that they didn't develop why she is so viscerally angry at being lied to regardless of the reason she's being lied to.
a lot of writers are afraid to write black characters as anything but flawless, I don't think its 100% true, especially in this instance but I wouldn't be surprised if that was a reason why Amber was so shallow in the first season, and pointless race swap that seemed to have only service bad writing is also a valid criticism in this instance as there was 0 reason to change her race for the show
and it's not just her 'anger' it's that she is flawless, when she first arrives in the show she has almost no apparent reasons, motivations or secrets as to why she does the things she does or who she even is, she's literally just really smart girl who helps people, now she is just supportive nice girl who really likes and supports Mark, she's just not very compelling either way and it's fully apparent why people want Mark with Eve so bad
ever since end game no super hero show has genuinely had me hooked like the boys and invincible. marvel follows the same the super hero’s will win and few deaths compared to invincible it’s truly unpredictable on what will happen will next and have people’s attention wondering. great video man
It's not superhero fatigue it's MCU fatigue. I think there's some DCU fatigue as well but because the DCU never gained it's footing and so never hit it's stride with its own formula the movies are at least more varied
Comparing it to the MCU doesn't really make much sense. One is a universe of films that wasn't even planned to be a universe at the beginning but then grew into a franchise with hundreds of different writers, producers and people feeding in their ideas. They have to choose from characters that can be up to 80 years old that have been rebooted/reinvented many times and turn that into a linear film franchise. The MCU had a 10-year-long storyline but after that what do they do now? In the comics Iron Man has also died, Sam has become Captain America and Thanos has also attacked and died. The difference is in comics there are hundreds of more stories with those characters because it always goes back to the status quo eventually. Invincible is written by one guy and is an adaptation of one 15-year-long comic run that's a deconstruction of the superhero genre. Same with The Boys. Independent comics like these are very difficult to Marvel or DC since those characters can change writers every year. All this being said, the MCU's ego blew up after endgame which put them in this horrible position of low-quality material for the last 4 or so years, that's for sure.
I think the great thing about Invincible is how it shows character depth. All of the characters feel really fleshed out and act like people instead of caricatures. It has some big grown up themes. "How do you know who is the good guy and bad guy" seems to be a really important theme. The world isn't black and white like marvel either.
I subscribed to this channel around a year ago, and now my subscription page is consistently inundated with repetitive Moon videos proclaiming the demise of the MCU. Ok, I get it. Are you guys not tired? These types of videos are a repetitive stream of polarizing slop, benefiting the hundred other RUclipsrs that spout these same cheap and narrow-minded opinions financially but leaving the viewer with lobotomy level brain damage from the constant slop intake.
@@BluLobstaDude Why is that? Because it's on D+ and hasn't seen a cinematic release? Okay... the same goes for She-Hulk and that's featured heavily in this video. So do these direct to streaming Marvel titles count or don't they?

Marvel isnt dead, the MCU migh suck right now. But watching x men 97! holly shit! its nuts. And the Deadpool 3 coming out she is the one to save the day!
"The Boys" is also pretty great at refreshing the superhero genre, even though it's kind of woke, but in a fitting and over the top way, which doesn't interfere with the willing suspension of disbelief and almost appears to be satirical and/or self-deprecating. And I dare to say that the spin off was alright, too, even though it was even woker. I believe that this shows that it is possible to touch these themes, when the setting is correct and the narration isn't preachy.
That's why i prefer Invincible, i notice the woke bs in The Boys and this turn me off, Invincible on the other hand has almost nothing of woke bs, Amber was a pain in the ass in the first season, but now in the second season they tone her down, and now she is tolerable. Also Mark in the comics drop her off for someone else that im not going to say here...

MCU has always been political, I can't stand it when people act like that's a new thing, you can't look at any film with a character named "Captain America" and say it's devoid of any inserted politics, with a straight face. Or the first Iron man, a film beloved by people who complain about how "political" the MCU has gotten, which has a whole commentary on the ethics of arms dealers/manufacturers, as well as global imperialism. It's not politics only when you don't care for the message; it's always politics.

Invincible didn’t destroy the MCU. It just watched it beat the shit out of itself.
I've watched more then a few videos about the comics that I wish I hadn't on account of spoilers.
That being said the story of invincible from what I've seen is well written and rewarding.
Shame that it's Amazon that is one of the only soulless companies bringing us quality stories today.
Invincible is a Breath of fresh air and is the best piece of superhero media right now
Wtf does "identity politics" have to do with invincible.
Nah Deadpool and Wolverine saved the MCU
ever since end game no super hero show has genuinely had me hooked like the boys and invincible. marvel follows the same the super hero’s will win and few deaths compared to invincible it’s truly unpredictable on what will happen will next and have people’s attention wondering. great video man
It's not superhero fatigue it's MCU fatigue. I think there's some DCU fatigue as well but because the DCU never gained it's footing and so never hit it's stride with its own formula the movies are at least more varied
bro yall know for a fact marvel destroyed there self
Invincible&the boys is wayyy better than anything marvel has put out in years
Comparing it to the MCU doesn't really make much sense.
This is a crazy take considering they are technically in the same universe 💀
They’re not in the same universe
@@nilolovesdirt spiderman is directly featured in one of the invincible comics so yeah it technically is at least the same multiverse
@@astromeo3467 honestly, that’s fair, but when considering the Multiverse it is basically like the infinite monkey theorem
It's the same video each time, just with a different title. While I understand a youtuber's financial incentive catering to the chronically online crowd that care far too much for this, but man does the continuous consumption of the constant regurgitated "the MCU has fallen" sloppy slop become tiring. Are you guys not tired?
These types of videos are a repetitive stream of polarizing slop, benefiting the hundred other RUclipsrs that spout these same cheap and narrow-minded opinions financially but leaving the viewer with lobotomy level brain damage from the constant slop intake.
Invincible and The Boys.
The boys season 1. The show decided to throw character development out the window afterwards
I like the sentiment that "superhero fatigue" isn't from too many superhero movies, its from marvel releasing bad movies. It's true.
X-Men 97 made this video age like milk.
X men 97 isn’t mcu
@@BluLobstaDude Why is that? Because it's on D+ and hasn't seen a cinematic release? Okay... the same goes for She-Hulk and that's featured heavily in this video. So do these direct to streaming Marvel titles count or don't they?
@GreyKnight7777 I'm pretty sure it's because it isn't apart of the mcu's narrative. In the same way, the spiderverse movies are not mcu.
X-men 97 I'd it's own thing
Now THIS is how to make a superhero series. Good writing, and good characters. No forced agendas.
Most big Hollywood studios care too much about what advertisers and shareholders want and not enough about what the audience wants.
Nolan flying scene in the latest episode has more emotions than most MCU scenes. 😂
Marvel isnt dead, the MCU migh suck right now. But watching x men 97! holly shit! its nuts. And the Deadpool 3 coming out she is the one to save the day!
Your invincible video review is beyond perfect and accurate.
Invincible is also woke. Moron.
They haven't gone full woketards loke Disney. Never go full woketard.
@@efxnews4776 The Boy has 5 seasons. Lets see what happens later in Invincible when woke parasites infect it. YOU KNOW THEY WANT TO.
PS: I hope I'll be wrong.
@@hermitcard4494 you really don't need to scream at me, i have the same fear as you.
Comparing Invincible to anything is unfair, Invincible is peak.
invincibles a master piece u guys should read the comics the character development is insane for example at the beginning mark always holds back and never kills but later after seeing many people he loves die he ruthlessly massacres his enemies and robot who's your classic good guy ends up trying the conquer the world omni man was a loyal soldier and he becomes the viltrumite hero and changes their ways its just an amazing series
Deadpool 3 will break 1 billion easily. You are funny. Marvel X men and Marvels Fantastic Four are just getting started!
