It's no surprise that the brutal superhero show, Invincible, has taken the world by storm due to its high popularity, awesome fights, and amazing characters. Mark Grayson, Omni-Man's son, is the main character of the series and due to his Viltrumite genetics awakening, he quickly had his life turned upside down.
Although the animated series is still young, the comic books have concluded his story, struggles, and many close-calls. Along the way, he faces really powerful villains and antagonists like his father Omni-Man, Battle Beast, and Grand Regent Thragg, the ultimate Viltrumite.
So, how STRONG is Invincible really? Is he weak or is Invincible WAY Stronger Than You Know!?

Mark is unquestionably the strongest character in the series by the very end. Keep in mind, all of the feats listed in this video are Mark before he even turned thirty. A certain amount of years afterwards he fights Allen and wins. In the last scene of the comics he's HUNDREDS of years old, and it's expressly stated that Viltrumites grow stronger as they age. I am confident that by series end, Mark makes Thragg bow to him.

    • @blaxpoitation8528

Mark is a beast. But Thragg…he’s on another level. While Mark DOES have the potential to become the most powerful Viltrumite, the problem is that Thragg has hundreds--I think (according to the comics) thousands of years of battle experience. Thragg is a monster. The comics made me root for the bad guy, I can’t even lie lol. But ultimately, of course Mark is going to get insanely stronger. His evolution in the comics is pretty tight. Can’t wait for the next seasons of Invincible.

@@blaxpoitation8528 During the time period which the main events in the story take place, certainly. I'm talking the very end of the series, where Mark has aged considerably. He was already strong enough to contend with Thragg in their final fight, and like I said, he wasn't even thirty. Another two years down the line, I'm certain he would have been on par with Thragg. 470 years later (which is where we last see Mark) I don't think any living being past or present that we know of could realistically challenge him. Fact is, Mark's rate of growth is the fastest it's ever been for a Viltrumite (Aside from Oliver, but he had a "level cap" so to speak).

He was constantly fighting stronger enemies, constantly pushing himself, achieving more and more. As Nolan says, viltrumite powers won't increase without being pushed, which is what Mark constantly does. Hence why he outgrows and lastly overpowers so many strong viltrumites, his power is one that has been tempered and hardened on the brink of death, whereas most viltrumites were nurtured and taught by viltrumite society, already being skilled warriors before ever setting foot on a planet with real enemies to fight, which usually were hopelessly outclassed anyways. Mark's fights, on the other hand, have always pushed him to and over his limit fighting with his life or the life of people he cares about at risk.

Another thing is Mark is an observant fighter too. He doesn’t learn official martial arts but he does seem to learn tactics that Viltrumites use on each other just by seeing it happen before his eyes. When Nolan bashed a Viltrumite in the ears with his fists, Mark used this tactic on his doppelgänger to knock him out and uses it on Conquest too. Even Conquest at the time was slightly impressed with Mark’s fighting in which Mark tells him that he’s just warming up. When Conquest tries to pile-drive Mark from orbit, Mark is able to escape his hold pretty quickly and tells Conquest that he had tried that already. Viltrumites also like to use their hands as swords or axes to stab or slice opponents apart and Mark (who hasn’t seen these moves in action before using this technique for the first time) has a sort of signifies move where he sideswipes an entire row of people in just one swing. He has used this move twice in the comics and Nolan used a move slightly different on Immortal twice in the show. First time Mark did was when a group of Reanimen was jumping Mark. Mark was much stronger than he was in the show by this time so he could take down an entire group of Reanimen without breaking a sweat. The reason they were able to group on him and start serving what The Rock was cooking was because Mark had his weakness exposed to him full force to the point where he was nearly paralyzed and in literal mind numbing agony. But as soon as his inner ear weakness was released off of him, Mark was able to destroy the entire group of Reanimen as soon as he got up. Mark used this move again against an even larger group of hybrid Viltrumites who were able to hold their own against Mark without any distractions on Mark’s part but as soon as Mark tapped into his Viltrumite rage, he was able to overpower each of them in just four panels. To put things into perspective of how fast he dismantled the hybrids, Mark killed them all before he could finish a sentence of three words.
Also I read the Invincible series multiple times but never got into the guidebooks or the crossover events, (which are canon as they are comparable to the MCU’s crossovers) so could someone explain to me if I’m wrong but are Smart Atoms basically things that help a Viltrumite adapt to almost anything? Such as potentially toxic atmospheres, space, solar radiation? I know these things don’t really affect Viltrumites but I’m trying to learn if the Smart Atoms are the things that make it so. Is that why a fully powered Atom Eve (who can manipulate organic matter at this point) was able to fry off Conquest’s skin? Did it cancel out his Smart Aaron’s adaptability? Let me know

    • @Chuck

Yes, smart atoms help them survive in extreme conditions. The reason Eve's power canceled out his durability is because their smart atoms can become taxed if they are overwhelmed.

My favorite thing about invincible is how viltrumites and mark actually get stronger and train to get to their legendary levels of power. Most op characters and species in comics don't really train to get that level of strength and are just born with it, case in point being superman, who don't seem to train to increase his strength, imply his power is purely from just passively absorbing sunlight, which makes the kryptonians sound even more insane since that means a kryptonian's natural strength can fight darkseid and the like.
However in invincible, that's not the case. Mark is beaten down and constantly gets stronger throughout the series, eventually reaching thragg level through hard work (and some good genetics). And its not just him, omni-man goes from slightly above average viltrumite level to fighting again thragg momentarily, and allen goes from getting stomped by BOE omni-man to rivalling and even surpassing him at the end.

    • @kingol4801

      @@projekttaku1 …..
A - that is not the case
B - kryptonians need very specific conditions to boost from solar energy.
C - Superman is THAT strong because he has CODEX in his veins.
If Batman is peak-human in terms of genetics, absolutely flawless and better than every human athlete, Superman is peak-Kryptonian, because his genetic code contains literally the BEST genes from the ENTIRETY of those species.
D - Superman is a POWERFUL entity. Mark is STRONG. Big difference.
Comparing Superman to Atom Eve (due to nature of their powers) would be more appropriate than to Invincible.
Superman is an energy-manipulator, that can EMULATE physical feats (being a flying brick). Invincible is a flying nigh-indestructible brick.
People seem to really fail to understand what exactly Superman is capable of.
Superman does not NEED to EVER fight hand-to-hand. He does because reasons, but in all honesty it would make MUCH more sense for Superman to “optimize” combat and becomes an orbital weapon of continental range that can blast the entire energy of the Sun and burn countries off the map, all whilst being all-seeing and all-hearing (and superspeed to dodge anything).
But that would make stories BORING, because Superman would become a “big brother” character.
THAT is Superman. He is an energy-based character like Eve. He fights up-close because personal preference and writing, but really he has so many ranged options that it is pointless for him to ever close the distance.
Superman fighting up-close is akin Eve making power-armour and fighting up-close… she CAN do it, but it does not make any real sense.
Superman being a melee combatant is akin human taking Gun/Glock and beating somebody else to death with it…. Instead of shooting it.

    • @projekttaku1
      @projekttaku1 6 месяцев назад

      @@kingol4801 A - That is the case.
B - No, literally just being under a yellow sun or yellow sunlight nigh-instantly grants them superpowers.
C - Literally only in MOS (movie), and even then its not implied the codex actually amps his powers. Its basically just information in his cells that'll need to be awakened once its extracted, not a power boost.
D - No, because Eve can literally warp matter on an atomic level. Superman's only long ranged attack is his heat vision, which in most stories isn't as strong as his regular punches, and its rarely used as a AOE attack because it drains him so much. Other than that, he's a flying brick with very good vision and senses.

Fucking hell, that might be one of the most powerful fictional hybrid ever conceived. Both species have no real upper limit on how much stronger they can get through training, and hybrids from both species are just as capable as pure blooded versions of their species. And the strengths and weakness of each species synergizes incredibly well. Viltrumites regenerative capabilities allows them to survive absurd amounts of damage. Mark literally has his guts ripped out of him during his fight with conquest, but after a few months with Omni-man's cape wrapped around him to keep his insides on the inside, he made a full recovery. While Saiyan's aren't able to come back from that kind of damage (not without a senzu bean at least), if they do survive a near death experience, they end up coming back way stronger than they were before they died. Viltrumites also age extremely slowly, capable of living for thousands of years. But even if the rate at which they age is slow, their bodies do still age physically. Saiyans on the other hand are the opposite. They have lifespans comparable to humans, however they remain in their physical prime until the very end of their life, at which point they will begin to age rapidly and eventually die.

The fight between Mark and Thragg didn't last for a "long period of time", the fight lasted only as long as the conversation that Mark had between Thragg and himself lasted. When Mark thrusted Tragg directly into the sun they both arose from the surface in considerable pain and burnt off skin; so it's fair to assume that they both go out of the sun's surface as quickly as possible. There was no indication that they continued fighting underneath the surface of the sun. I should also point out that when Allen the Alien swooped into save Mark after he bit off Thragg's neck, that Allen's skin had some noticable blisters on his skin, suggesting that flying so close to the surface sun caused Allen the Alien's durable skin to take considerable damage just by being so close to the sun's surface for even a few moments. So it wouldn't be unfair to assume that Thragg's entire being burnt up at the surface of the sun practically instantaneously.

I have never felt so invested in a comic until I read invincible and after reading it, I really felt empty and a void inside because, I felt so invested into it and that knowing that it truly has an ending for this story and no other iterations, really felt like an ending. 14:07 If you haven't read the comics, this is putting things so lightly it is insane. It was one of the most grueling fights I have ever seen in a comic period. Just absolute destruction. Over the course of the fight, Invincible has his face smashed to a pulp before his brother and Eve show up. Mark loses focus yelling at Eve to run, and Conquest snaps Mark's leg in half with a chop of the hand. When Eve is fatally injured Mark goes berserk and Conquest and Mark both punch each other's fists at the same time. Conquest's mechanical arm explodes, and Mark's actual arm is shattered and broken to pieces. Conquest grabs Mark, and with no arm free to fight with, Mark literally bites and rips out a giant chunk of Conquest's flesh near his neck. Mark tries to punch Conquest but he grabs the punch and crushes Mark's only remaining functional hand. Mark now has a broken leg, an exploded arm that looks like it is about to fall off and his other arm's hand has been crushed to pieces, so what does he do? He starts smashing his own skull into Conquest's face over and over and over a total of 33 times until Conquest is defeated.

Same for the Guardians of the globe, yet their cute lil peeks at their lives in the show felt so casual and fun. As well as the battle against Omni Man making all the more impact by being long, even some of their deaths showing some of their character, like how Green Ghost tried to catch Nightwing without a second thought, or Immortal asking why, refusing to lie down and die silently. While I feel like Amber suffered badly and became madly unlikeable, I'm also curious to see how they make up for it because it could be for a reason. And most importantly to me is how much more interesting William is in the show to me. I dunno, in the comic, he's an aggressively annoying bratty guy but in the show he has way more personality and feels more like a goofy friend. He's not overly nice but he tries to help his friends out. I just can't wait to see who else gets changed around ^^

Humans feel adrenaline to help them survive dangerous situations. Viltrumites are so powerful that it makes sense to assume that they haven’t evolved a way to produce it as they’re rarely ever in a situation where they could die from something other than old age. However, since Mark is half human, he must have a way to produce it. Seeing as how viltrumites get stronger with age, had he had been Omni man’s age when they fought, He could’ve reasonably won

Idk if you're talking about Eve, and I guess I would kind of be assuming, but I'd say she still can die regardless of having the ability to heal herself after a fatal wound and of old age. I say this because in the comics we never see her do something like that: first off without a head and second off back to back. From what I remember, it's happened three times in the entire comic and all instances happened significant amounts of time apart from one another which would make me think it needs a lot of energy stored up over time for it to activate, like if she was impaled and was bleeding out and it automatically activated she would have used up a lot of energy and if she were to end up getting impaled right after she revived I don't think it would activate. I also think she needs her brain for it work; meaning It probably wouldn't activate if she was decapitated, which has never been shown.
