@@jonathansoko1085 It's not entirely their choice as actors are often portrayed as seeking income in any role as well as status, assuming the role is or isn't in their best interest. From an economic standpoint to maintain their lives it would be foolish to turn down any acting role if it will benefit them. From a more conservative aspect the actors who do not accept the role will just be replaced. The worst part is that we encourage all of this as if it should be what society dictates. Yes, a realm of it is on the actors but ultimately the fault lies with those who are in more power and authority than these actors in order to make the change there needs to be.
Think about how great the writing used to be. They wanted us to realize the true meaning of Avengers: Endgame after 4 years. Now i finally realized the movie was actually about DIS's Endgame . Thats genius

I remember telling my brother a decade (more or less) ago "everything Disney touches turns to gold," and he replied with "yeah, it's scary how well a corporation can know people". This was just after Moana came out, Disney coming off almost 2 decades of solid wins. It's absolutely wild that Disney has reversed itself so far. It just boggles my mind.
It’s the ESG-scores and how they’re pandering to investors, adhering to “the message”. It all starts at the top, and Bob Iger was the one starting the trend in Disney. Bob Chapek was just the scapegoat, while Iger pulled the strings from behind the curtain.
They hire extremists, and it all goes downhill from there. Once the extremists are entrenched, it’s impossible getting rid of them. So, Disney is doomed despite Nelson Peltzer trying a hostile take-over of the Disney board.
It is, however, entertaining watching this Goliat stumble and fall on it’s face.
I remember discussing the Lucas film sale with a friend, and he was quite reassuring because “it could be sold to no better equipped and rich company and that they would do it proud”

He also forced out George lucas because he wanted a safe return on the investment with nostalgia movies. But yeah Solo, Rogue one, bad batch, rebels, clone wars 7, ahsoka, mando, andor, high republic, video games, tales of the jedi, visions, and even kenobi/boba have all been decent to the best Star Wars ever mind. Look at things objectively with nuance and critical thinking don’t succumb to the hyperbolic hate you are constanly fed online by RUclipsrs who most of which have sinister agendas themselves.

My personal head cannon is Thanos actually won in Avengers Endgame, not by killing the heroes, but by using the gauntlet to trap them in a labyrinth where they think they won.
And in order to keep them in this matrix, Thanos sends the heroes on endless missions so that they are too preoccupied to even consider that something has gone terribly wrong. They are effectively in a maze with four interconnected walls and no doors, no exits.

The biggest problem is the lack of competitive environment. Its inevitable that this would happen to Disney with no rivals. The west needs more independent companies like the Japan anime community to create more independent IP's.
This is why I am truly disappointed that the DCEU is now over after basically just starting. Sure, they had some flops, but so has the MCU! Also, as I stated before, the DCEU was a particularly young movie universe and if they would’ve given it some time, they could’ve possibly outclassed Marvel in terms of movies. Let’s face it, the MCU has gone to shit ever since it introduced Brie Larson as Captain Marvel(don’t get me wrong, I love Brie Larson but she sucked as Captain Marvel).
Watching the decline of the MCU is like watching a friend I love wasting away from some terrible, self-inflicted disease, ignoring those who can offer a cure.

Another issue with many post-Endgame films is escalation creep. The constant fate of the world, fate of the universe, now fate of the multiverse is exhausting. Having a story with smaller stakes would be a nice breather between the massive superhero teamups. Plus, these stories are completely ignoring the cities they are supposed to be rescuing and the people who living in them. That brings home what is at stake instead of some threads of CGI timelines which have little impact on the viewer.
A lot of bad anime has this same issue. If they’d put in the time to review storytelling methods, they could have avoided making the same mistakes

As a black man this has summed up my feeling on the topic perfectly, I have no interest in being represented in all things at all times, I've never concerned myself with being represented I'm concerned with being represented WELL!! in projects , casts and writers that care about the story....I never felt that I couldn't ever relate to Frodo watching Lord of the Rings because he's not a 6'5 black man from the UK, representation for representations sake is dehumanising and superficial and does wider damage on a social level.....
As someone who falls under the LGBTQ I can relate. Not every character needs to be or even should try to represent me or those like me. And it also sucks when a film or show has a character thats supposed to represent folks like myself but in reality the character is just a walking out of date stereotype. Token characters are not representation. Having a characters personality completely revolve around a single and often looks based trait is not a personality. It just sucks
The sad thing is unlike Star Wars, Marvel has a ready catalogue of beloved stories going back 80 years. There should be no excuse for making the low quality garbage Disney is hellbent on serving the fans.

That’s part of the problem. They don’t have a story, or a modicum of creativity. They have a religion and they want to rewrite/deconstruct our culture to reflect their religion/ideology. Cultural Marxism requires it and that’s what’s underneath everything they do. Don’t be surprised if they don’t give up, because adults may see through it but children are easy to indoctrinate. That’s why they’ve spent the majority of their effort on entertainment and education.
I used to know a director who told me that a key to a better art and characters is in combining different and conflicting perspectives, or qualities in a character. It seems that art becomes insufferably flat and nonsensical when it's one-sided. Propaganda is inevitably one-sided.
What message? How pushing a "message" is better than making their shareholders rich? No, they are trying to bring more audiences, while not spending enough to write proper, well developed scripts.
When the landscape was an ocean of white male characters, it was NOT about denigrating ethnic and female characters. It was about saving everybody, irrespective of identity. The current fad of placing ethnic and female characters _explicitly to denigrate white males_ is turning into the reason why it was never a common practice before. In a way, it's justifying the very thing it's meant to attack.
Anyone who chooses to watch these movies over doing anything else should take a step back and ask themselves, "Why am I making this a priority in the limited time that I have?"

Black Widow should have gotten a solo movie years ago. And the one she did get didn't explore her character and background in nearly enough depth. But somehow even Hawkeye gets a TV show, more content focused on him than Blackwidow ever got. As you can see, I'm still miffed at the lackluster Blackwidow movie.
This is just lazy heavy handed insincere pandering. More women should be more offended by that. Why don’t Disney think women main characters deserve character development? Even Pepper Potts has more depth than Carol in the very first Iron Man movie than all of Captain Marvel movies put together. Don’t pretend this is about gender, we love Nebula, Gamora, Mantis, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch etc.

What people don't understand is that these scripts are DESIGNED TO BE LIKE THIS. There is no mistake. The writers are great - but when you have over 100 of them and you are pushing a political message, there is zero chance that even the best writers can deliver a great script.

This brings me back to watching an Honest Trailer for the one of the Avengers movies. Age of Ultron I believe. Joss Wheedon straight up walked away and shut down after all the excess Disney shit and random subplots being funneled through this bottleneck. To produce an amazing piece of storytelling for all, but also pander... SO FUCKING HARD. The storm has only continued to gain momentum. Started off with Ultron singing No Strings to whatever you want to call She Hulk.

This is why non-toxic Star Trek fans hate Star Trek: Discovery, and why The CW had to cancel Powerpuff when it took more than 2 years to rewrite the pilot, and nobody ever did that. Well, every Marvel movie and TV show has gotten worse, and the MCU should have ended after Endgame
3.5 out of 5 stars movie. The post credits scene alone will change it to 4 stars. The movie fails to even take 1 minute to explain important things. Yet, wastes a number of minutes to show a way overbudget filled scenes like a world falling apart when they lose their atmosphere and another long scene that temporarily turns the movie into a musical. Yes, you heard me right. "Musical". After watching through the whole movie, I can say that the best part is some of the fight scenes. The worst part is most of the movie feels like a bunch of deleted scenes. The movie is about 2 bangles, portals, and the super powerful energy around them. And I still don't know how some "random kid" got one of the bangles. And near the end, the random kid had both bangles then went back to Earth and only had one bangle? It doesn't even explain what they did with the other bangle. And it was very hard to watch Brie Larson act like a robot with no emotion while hanging around a kid with high emotion and even harder to watch Larson go from robot to very emotional and back again a number of times. And there's so many things that weren't explained. Why were the planets covered in portal walls? No back story on the bangles at all? How on Earth did their star go dark just because an AI source was destroyed? Of the most ridiculous things ever, how can Captain Marvel fly through a star without dying? She can get knocked down from energy from a small metal bangle yet fly through a f*cking star completely unharmed. Come on, people! 🥴🥴🥴

It's wild how blatant She-Hulk was about the fact that the writers just didn't care whatsoever about the characters and story, only the messages they wanted to preach. If the writers/directors/producers clearly don't care about a story, why should anyone else?
I know that problem isn't exclusive to She-Hulk, especially these days, but that show in particular was so unapologetically in-your-face about it.
At this point I'm waiting to hear about someone starting a kickstarter campaign to launch a new western superhero publishing studio to compete with DC and Marvel. I know that they've muscled out all of their other competition to-date, but with how much they've dragged their own names through the mud, maybe there's room for something new thanks to the power of the internet.

Disney and woke Hollywood is why I’ve taken an interest in exclusively watching foreign movies and tv shows. No bs about skin color quotas, cheesy and outdated jokes bagging on whitey, no perverse acts trying to corrupt young people, etc…foreign movies and tv shows are focused on the story and making it as best as they possibly can.
Yeah 90% of the movies& show I've watched now are either european movies from spain and asia, it's sad really... Yeah, the audience don't care anymore. It premiered today and up until 1 hour before showtime I had no sold tickets. In the end 5 people saw it (in an auditorium with a capacity of 114). I actually had more people watching Sound of Freedom on the screen next door.
And to make it even funnier there was a technical memo from Disney that
there might be glitches somewhere in the end credits on certain hardware. They can't even QC their stuff. It's hilariously bad. 🤣

Marvel has a management problem. When *every* new release is poor quality despite ballooning budgets, you know something went terribly wrong with their whole production process. They rely on inexperienced directors who won't push back. The CGI is bad because they keep asking for last-minute changes. They don't actually start with a script, but rather a bunch of cool scenes the producer wants and then expect the writers to build around that. I think the producers actively resent having to rely on creative people doing good work and want to standardize the process as much as possible.
