I did prefer Breaking Bad but BCS really nailed the bad choice road journey for Jimmy with much more complexity in his personal and working life. I wish the creators made more and more shows like this. So good
Same here, I especially preferred the ending of Breaking Bad, but you hit the nail on the spot with the bad choice road journey for Saul, something which I can relate to a lot as I see a lot of myself in Jimmy. It is very interesting how the butterfly effect can take a couple of bad choices and spiral them out of control onto a highway with no exit.

The soft spot of this character Jimmy McGill that makes people empathize with him easily is that, no matter how evil he became, he never serves the corporate establishment. He always stands against the system that rejects him and so many marginalized people.
And that's why I don't see him as evil. He never went past that crucial line that really would make him truly evil.

Jimmy is one of the most in depth characters ever written. People are complex and our morals/behavior is not based on a set of laws or a rule book. That’s why I think Jimmy is so relatable. His actions are realistic and the audience are able to understand why he acts how he does, even if his actions morally wrong. Better Call Saul has the best character writing in all of tv history

The wolf and sheep line is so powerful. I work in the entertainment biz and if you dont know how the industry works, you're gonna get swallowed up by it. Im so happy I took the time early in my career to study the legal side of things. Ive heard the endless stories of people losing everything because they trusted the wrong people and signed on the dotted line without hesitation. Ive also seen people in my own family get taken advantage of by other family members bc they were the "nice guy" or the "yes man". If I dont like you personally, I wont give you a second of my time bc I know you wouldnt do it for me.
Not a good thing that Michael Franzese was right when he said blood is not thicker than water.
The problem with that wolf vs sheep thing is that it fails to understand that there is a 3rd party; the sheepdogs. In today's political climate, the wolves who run Washington DC and the mainstream media have convinced the sheep that the sheepdogs are the REAL wolves, and the sheep are too stupid to see that the wolves aren't fellow sheep, but clearly wolves dressed as sheep.
I hate this. I hate this so much, that every time I stumble over this frase, I want to scream in agony. It gives me physical pain, because of this inhumane human attitude. And I don't want to play this game. I can't. My integrity is holy, I don't want to play in this game of thrones, just to get a good, wellpaid job in the business I love. Making films is hard enough, I don't want to think about the fucked up psychopaths and their goons, that rule this system, pressing out people who are kind and look for others, because "that's weak". Empathy is no weakness! Arrogance and egomanic narcissism is! And every time I have to read this Sheep-Wolf bullshit, I eigher want to grab a gun an get rid ofall mankind or press the cold metal against my head, because I can't stand this fucking society any longer! I don't want to play this game. It's is rigged. It's unfair. It's a fucking rigged casino for the poor ones on the one side, and a winning-mashine for those, who owned the damn planet on the other! If you want to cannibalize, go for it. Call me a sheep for trying to be a good human. But then, the sheeps are the superior race. Fuck the wolf. Fuck the system. Fuck narcissistic assholes, who think, the world belongs to them. Everyone can be killed. Maybe that's the way to end this fuckup.

Well said, awesome analysis. Astonishing show. Just like many others, I felt in love with Kim. Her last cry in the bus feeling that devouring guilt was absolutely profound and touching. For real, if you have already seen someone really crying in real life, you can’t deny that amazing scene.
There’s never bad guy without backstory where he gets his heartbroken. Sure the story of the cartel, Mike, Gus and Nacho was definitely amazing but this show is called “Better Call Saul” for a reason. If Jimmy wasn’t stabbed in the back by the only person he looked up to there wouldn’t be Saul Goodman and he was going to redeem himself from his bad past. The story of Mike, Gus and the cartel wouldn’t go that far and even Walter White wouldn’t become The Heisenberg we know. Everything that happen in this universe is because of Chuck driving Jimmy to become Saul Goodman. This whole story of jimmy’s childhood to Heisenberg’s death is absolutely incredible and genius.
From Jimmy's childhood to Heisenberg's death. Amazing.
We need to trust and rely in God always.. He’s the one who never betrays. That way we can follow the good path without deviating too much, or if we deviated at some point -because we all fail-, we can heal and come back.
Chuck didn’t drive Jimmy to become Saul. That’s not how character works, every decision has to come from the character themselves, otherwise they aren’t their own person. Jimmy was always Saul, but you could argue Chuck was a major reason he decided to give into the temptation and return to Saul.
Exactly, it wasn't Chuck who tempted Jimmy to steal from his dads cash register@@jimmyb1129

Whenever jimmy tries to play by the book he loses and he's punished while when he lies and manipulates he is rewarded and wins, chuck is a good lawyer while jimmy is an amazing lawyer that's why in the battle of the 2 brothers in the court jimmy managed to win
I remember in the earlier years of the show people saw it as the subpar little brother of Breaking Bad. Just like how Chuck saw Jimmy.
Then it grew up and those people were blown away by how complex, nuanced, beautiful and different the show was.. Me included. We should've known, it was the same team. But this huge misunderstanding came from one sentence: "It's a spin off, not a show that can stand on its own."

During your breakthrough of Chuck I thought that maybe he should really have been a prosecutor instead of a lawyer. He has all the abilities to be one. Especially given hi role as the embodiment of the law. And unlike prosecutors, lawyers HAVE to be good with people. What Chuck certainly is not

Key points and takeaways from the video:
1. "Better Call Saul" is considered one of the greatest TV shows because it offers a unique perspective on morality.
2. Jimmy McGill's character undergoes a transformation marked by empathy, mistakes, and atonement. His journey is a central theme of the show.
3. The show explores the dichotomy between following strict laws (deontology) and considering the consequences of actions (consequentialism).
4. Jimmy's choices and actions have far-reaching and often unforeseeable consequences, illustrating the complexity of real-life moral decisions.
5. The video discusses how the system is often rigged against individuals with criminal records, making it difficult for them to reintegrate into society.
6. Characters like Chuck represent the establishment and uphold strict moral codes, but their actions can be morally questionable.
7. Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman is a result of his detachment from his true self and his descent into the world of scams and unethical practices.
8. The show portrays how individuals can lose their sense of right and wrong when immersed in a corrupt system.
9. Jimmy eventually chooses to confess to his crimes, marking a significant shift in his character as he seeks atonement for his actions.
10. The video concludes by emphasizing that moral choices come from personal experience, moral compass, and the ability to discern right from wrong.
Overall, the video delves into the complexity of morality as portrayed in "Better Call Saul" and how it reflects broader societal issues and moral dilemmas.
It highlights Jimmy McGill's journey, portrayed by Bob Odenkirk, as a struggle marked by empathy, mistakes, and atonement. The video emphasizes that the show's strength lies in its ability to offer a clear and deep view of morality in the context of a rigged system.

So many gifted artists at those projects. That's what life is about, telling each other relatable Stories we might learn something from.
I've seen the whole thing I wish though there was something more uplifting about it than the ending to reward you for your time sticking through it, even if it has a deeper meaning.
Great video. Jimmy and Chuck often felt like two sides of the same coin to me. Both are intelligent, persistent and have a talent for manipulating people. I think the difference, outside of their views of the law, is Jimmy seems a lot more caring than Chuck. Chuck even scolds him for it, telling him to just not apologise if he's going to do it anyway. But it's the caring that makes people love Jimmy, and is ultimately what leads him to his best nature. Chuck isn't heartless, but there's a coldness to how he treats people that makes everyone eventually turn their back on him.
The first season is the lowest point of the show but for a good reason it shapes the characters and the world the next seasons ramp it up and it gets crazy good. Best show ever.
The slow methodical descent into criminality by jimmy/saul was amazing. You see him climb the corporate ladder, rooting for him all the way. And that betrayal. You think that the thing stopping you was some guy somewhere else. Some guy who couldn’t be plead with. But your own brother. Titanic.

This is a great depiction of Moloch, the god of unhealthy competition. He emerges from game theory anytime cheating can produce short-term gain and thousands of years ago in more superstitious times, this meant child sacrifice (the ultimate expression of this principle). It was thought that sacrificing a child to Moloch would strengthen any structure, so city walls etc. had child bodies in their foundations.
I find it creepy AF that modern wokism also has this ultimate expression of child sacrifice to pedophiles or mutilation of sex organs to secure short-term virtue. This is much bigger and more insidious than most people could ever imagine.
Yessssssss ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 bless you!!!
Don't forget the orgies!!! (It was all a ruse to get laid, fyi).
Any people who worship sex will sacrifice children. Now. You've got fewer mouths to feed, and it seems like your economic efforts are more effective. You can demand more from your neighbors and when economic struggles. But before long, your fighting age population has dwindled and you are forced to colonize and enslave.

Hope YT dont cancel this vid
Breaking bad was a crime drama , whereas BCS was a character study with crime and drama sprinkled in
Better Call Saul was a good representation of humanity. It's a show with zero good people in the main cast. Everyone involved is a nasty piece of work in some way or another. The very few good people end up losing out, whether it was their job or their life. (No, I am not referring to Howard)
nachos father was an excellent person but yeah not exactly part of the "main cast", so was the character of rich
I think Jimmy was a good person, and so was Kim and Chuck. The worst thing I can think of is when Jimmy represented the killer who killed a man in cold blood who fled to Mexico after jimmy got the cash to bail him out.
@@shreyassharma8277 He lost out though, he lost his son. The other good people I can thnk of was Errol I think his name was, he was loyal to his friend Jimmy and was used by Chuck then fired. The other was the kid that Lalo murdered.
@@jamesrichards2720 Jimmy was a con artist, he regularly scammed people. Not just when he was "Slippin' Jimmy" but in the course of his work too. He was far from good. In the BCS series, representing Lalo wasn't evil. Everyone is entitled to legal representation, no matter what crime they are accused of. But the way he behaved in the course of his duties was really bad. He went on to do far worse things in BB anyway.
Kim tried to be good at first, but was led astray by Jimmy. She was a smart woman and knew better, she went in to it with her eyes wide open. She did bad things totally on her own with no help from Jimmy, and she was the one who had to talk Jimmy into taking Howard down. Then she destroyed his character at the memorial to protect herself. That is extremely low.
As for Chuck, he was the worst of the three. He was a self-righteous coward who hid behind the law. He used the law as a weapon to get his own way. He would put the law before everything, whether it was right or wrong. He resented Jimmy because he was his dying mother's last thought. That type of jealousy ate away at him, and he ultimately killed himself when the consequences of his actions came back to him. Absolute coward.
Wait, Howard was bad? Yeah sure he was slightly egotistic and an asshole in the first 3 seasons, but he did change and better himself.
I want to see Moon make a “this movie tried to warn you” video now about Paw Patrol or something and see if he could pull it off.
