While I can see why some people might not be all in on this album, the truth is, it is EXACTLY what lifelong BFMV fans have been asking for! SO raw. Heavy. Fat solos! The mastering is incredible. Drum work is off the charts. To those who don’t like it, I say listen to it front to back with some quality headphones or at maximum volume over some speakers. This shit is epic. Long live Bullet 💪🏻
good music just slightly unoriginal i think for 2021 those riffs and solos sound straight ripped from an aild album they had some cool hardcore influences here and their and some cool bass and drum ideas its still a good album just sounds a bit old school like ive heard it before, then again this is the sound i enjoyed growing up so i cant say i hate it
@@NotcoolJameswe’re just upset they had the perfect sound and decided to just 180 and progressively get worse. if they stuck to the poison sound, they would without a doubt be one of the greatest metalcore bands to ever exist. just wasted potential
This album really feels as if they learned from all their mistakes on gravity and made something that feels like the band going back to its roots but also new and refreshing compared to their previous works. The album stands on its own independently while still being the bullet we all know and love. Prob my AOTY honestly.
It definitely is a great album, but the AOTY title for me is taken already by Phinehas. I love Bullet to death, but Phinehas is just on a different level here.
Other than being a little repetitive in spots, I enjoyed the record overall. Good riffs, great solos, decent catchy choruses, unique drums in spots like groove switches. Matt's voice still sounding good. Good job BFMV
My expectation was really high but even after that in mind, i was not expected massives bangers like Paralysed and Death by a Thousand cuts. It's really Bullet at their best on the musicality side. Really really impressed by what they done on this album. Lot of heavyness but some touch of emotion like in "Can't Escape the waves" (oh guys the chills...). No fillers in it. The record is very diversify. One of their best work to date. Well done Bullet 🤘👏
Well venom is one of my favorite albums of all time. Simply because it got me into music with screaming vocals. I had already been a fan of a couple of 80’s thrash bands and bands like avenged sevenfold. But when venom dropped it opened the doors for so much good music and it will forever hold that special place in my heart for that. However, I think they might have topped it for me. What an amazing experience.
Has no one ever listened Venom? I never hear anyone talk about that album, yet, it's such a great-great album, man. Easily the successor to Poison. The last album to have that specific 'Bullet' sound.
I feel like the album lacks a bit of big melodic choruses like they were on scream aim fire, but this is very solid tho, the production is perfect for them also
This is their best record since ‘Fever’ and Venom(which I thought was ok) but this aggression and song writing. It’s a nice blend of the Fever + Venom. This album was no time. It starts slow and you leave so quick you don’t even know what happened. Love the reaction
I actually was genuinely surprised by this album, I thought I wouldn’t like it as much as I did and that’s coming from a die hard fan of bfmv. After gravity I kinda stopped listening to these guys for awhile. However I love this album a lot and it has its moments with the beefy solos, Matt’s screaming and singing, and much more. Overall 8.5/10 solid solid stuff.
At 48 mins? Tbf though, I did hear they had a couple of really good tracks cut out of the album, maybe we’ll see a future deluxe rerelease of this album and 2-3 more songs. Would maybe make it a bit longer than The Poison (which with no bonus tracks is about 53 mins)
1:38 It was 2:00 am, I was really tired but this new album came out so I started listening to it while laying on bed: I almost fell asleep and I swear to god this part 1:38 kicks in and I totally woke up, opened my eyes and started to headbang like a maniac
This album has no filler, all the tracks have their place, the tracks are well placed on the album and its super heavy and raw. I will say I wish there were fewer repeated choruses and also not so much production/effects on the vocals, screams specifically
It’s also crazy to hear how you’ve come around on the singles. Seemed like you had a more negative opinion of them before the album release. Also seems you’ve come around on the production as well. Any specific reasons for these changes of opinions or did they just grow on you? Love you’re videos man!

I'm actually on the same track. I didn't really like the singles, even hated on them a bit for being generic, but the album as a whole is a banger
This album bought me back into loving this band again, my only problem with it, as much as it's a solid album, it still lacks something innovative apart from fun rhytm switches. If you ask me they were pretty much groundbreaking back on The Poison and very playful with melodies and leads. I couldn't believe how much Can't Escape The Waves (fav Bullet track in years) was simple ,guitar wise, but maybe WSS just set the bar too high for me, those guys are blowing me away with their musical evolution, Bullet just made something that was expected from them years before. 8/10 from me Whitechapel is still the contender for AOTY in my opinion.
I didn't listen to any of the singles for this album because I'm not a BFMV fan but this album is in my top 5 for this entire year. I mean its INCREDIBLE!
Happy and 1000 Cuts are disgustingly good, I was pretty iffy after hearing the singles (parasite was my favorite, but it sounded like Axewound imo). But I was happily blown away. These two songs specifically are the quintessential bullet sound to me.
At the beginning I was a little hesitant with my opinion if the album is really good. and I can say the more you listen to the album the more I like the songs. I will love Bullet and their music no matter how bad or good I or others are the albums and songs. Bullet is and will always be my life.
New success formula, release a disappointing album, lower expectations for the new release, and drop at least decent album. I had it on repeat all day, nothing revolutionary, but I actually am enjoying it, it's rather fun to listen.
This album is absolutely incredible!! 🤘😝 …. easily their best album in years. I do wish they would have named it though. I don’t like wen bands self title stuff. They should have called it ‘Year of the Mask’ or something.
You NEED to check out the new Impending Doom EP. The title track Hellbent is incredible. It’s definitely up there with the new Knocked Loose EP. Pure quality.
This will go down as one of the best Bullet Albums EVER!..I have a bad habit of comparing and having certain expectations with Bullet..Aproaching it as a stand alone Album...the only word coming to my mind is ferocious.
This album just reminds me of that latest Fit for a king album...heavy but repetitive. I think some clean chorus stuff would have made the heavy parts really stand out but it all just feels one note the whole way through each song. I love heavy stuff but this feels like heavy for the sake of it
This album tops Scream Aim Fire for me. Even The Poison sometimes. I know The Poison will always be number 1 because of the context when it came out, but it has still songs that aren't so good after 16 years. It's still freaking epic tho, and the most creative album they wrote, i guess it will be forever. Now I really liked Venom, it was a huge improvement after Fever (i find it meh) and Temper Temper (i find it awful like wtf, it is really really bad) but it lacked something, some songs are really good, others are completely forgettable. Gravity is kinda living on its own, like another dimension, they tried something and i think they still did a good job with it, it's not really memorable but it's clearly not as bad as people want to make it look. The thing with this album and how it works so well is that you can feeling the flow out of it. It feels natural and spontaneous unlike Venom. They didn't try to make more songs just to make more songs. It feels honest and raw. Pure energy translated into heavy direct punchy metalcore songs. Just like The Poison it has this energy. FINALLY. It won't ever be as legendary as The Poison because honestly no album from BFMV can at this point but it certainly can be counted as one of their best, hands down. Congrats to them
9:40 totally agree best examples : "rainbow veins" and "no happy ever after" such awesome tracks but the last chorus in both tracks was repeated way to often "cant escape the waves" is such a killer track but after the 2nd chorus it just has a little pause and then it just repeats the chorus again - with a breakdown or solo this woud be a 10/10 track but what me bothered the most is i really like the album but i just hate the sound of the snare they made everything harder but kept the snare from "gravity"
Guitar work in some of the songs feel like they didn't even try, and I wanted so more catchy clean vocals in more songs, that's what is dragging it down a bit for me
I mean it's better than I expected, but I still feel as though it was a little underwhelming. I see why people like it, but idk just not for me and that's okay
Didn't envoy it sadly. I wanted to, but they lost me since Gravity. Imo, there is no "personality" in this record: when I listened to it I thought "I already heard this before", Matt's screams aren't as good as they were (for me he sounds "tired" you know). In fact, I haven't be surprised at all. Good points : the solos are pretty cool and "The Reverie" is a good song. But sadly I didn't enjoy it and this record will definitevely not be in my top 10 records at the end of 2021
to the hellfire has bad mixing if you are used to typical metalcore mixing. For deathcore that leans more on the traditional blackened death metal (besides from the breakdowns obviously) the production is top notch. I thought the same about to the hellfires mixing before i realised the guitars being prevelant or something like that isn't the point. They like the insturments to all blend together like a spicy soup, and they do a great job
@Call Me, BLEGH Me, If You Wanna Reach Me To the hellfire has the best mix for the blackened sound the band was going for. The production on this album though did leave a bit to be desired.
@@thedamntrain Well it’s definitely not pop but I agree. It wasn’t that it was pop it was that it was different and somewhat unique. More so different from their usual.
Honestly, to me this sounds like pretty basic arena metalcore. Same kinda vibes I got from that last Parkway Drive album. They also seriously need to stop letting Matt write lyrics. Man still hasn't matured his writing in any way.
I would not say that, my favorite song is No Happy Ever After and I really love those lyrics. Maybe is not perfect in some of the songs but is not that bad that you can't get over it in my opinion.
Its sad to say, but this album is a complete miss for me, I cant hear Bullet in it, I hear Bullet trying to copy every modern metalcore band( WSS and Parkway Drive i hear the most here) and also production of everything is very weird, and Matt's vocals sound not good at all, feels like his voice is in the worst condition ever. I really wanted this album to be good, but with so many awesome music that modern bands put out now this feels pretty soulless and boring to me.
I strongly disagree with your opinion on the production. I really like the songwriting. But the production is too old fashioned for me and too much mids. Honestly for me it was a struggle to listen to the album cause of the production. Also what happened to the brutal vocals? They sound like weird whispers.
For me, this is the worst metal release of the year. Kinda poor mixing/mastering in some moments, a lot of other bands' riffs and inspirations without BFMV's sound, weak lyrics with bad cleans, and awful screaming on the top of it. So I won't be their fan, but I'm OK with people enjoying it. P. S. The only BFMV's song I've heard before the album is Your Betrayal
I do not have any problem with the production quality of the album, it sounds really good to me. I've seen lots of people arguing on the internet about the production of the album, but it doesn't seem bad to me. As for the vocals, Matt can't scream and sing the way he used back in The Poison era, he had a throat surgery because he had forced his voice way too much and he screwed it up. This is his new screaming technique which is much healthier for.his voice. And I don't mind it at all. I'd argue that this album has that Bullet sound. I mean, they've gone through lots of musical changes, but they've somehow managed to keep their DNA
While I can see why some people might not be all in on this album, the truth is, it is EXACTLY what lifelong BFMV fans have been asking for! SO raw. Heavy. Fat solos! The mastering is incredible. In my opinion this is their best work since Fever. This album represents a very "grown up" BFMV which isn't bad, but I still miss The Poison days.
I think it's even better than Fever.
Nah, it's not as good as Venom.
