Vocals are fine from the production side. But Matt is using a different technique for the screams. That suits him better because I think like that he can protect his vocal chords cuz of course he had vocal surgery back in the day. But me seeing them live and Matt actually screaming pretty good I was expecting smth like that. I love this track more than Knives. Bulllet are back !!
I didn’t even watch this reaction yet Bc in the title & thumbnail it seems like he’s hating on it.. Or am I wrong? But this song is a Banger so fuck what anybody else has to say🤷🏻
nah they're a different screaming technique from what he used in the studio prior also they're actually more processed. You can hear in the intro how much distortion/saturation is going on.
@@Nestorglass Well yeah that intro scream is processed for effect clearly, not to in any way enhance matts voice. For the rest of the vocals, especially his cleans, there’s clearly way less production on them
@@jaygray835 funny thing is Matt got a great hang of this new technique. Matt Heafy does fry screams live and they don't sound half as powerful, so much so that he still uses his previous technique in the studio.
I mean they literally said in an interview: "We will always remain a metal band, we just wanted to try something different and out of our comfort zone every now and then". I always expected them to return to heavy, and I am not dissapointed :D
I also thought that Matt's vocals sound weird, not bad but are not quite the same as in previous albums. I liked Knives a bit more but this one is not a bad song for me. Meanwhile, my week was a trainwreck, I'm about to end my thesis to finally graduate from uni, the stress is real (oh, also practicing my vocals and guitar).
After knives i tought the album would be just like venom and i had not so good expectatives, but with parasite it all just seems good again, not their best, but definetly much better after years, that clean "chorus", all the track reminded me so much of "her voice resides" from the poison, lets hope they also release some kind of ballad like in the poison or scream aim fire, hopefully this would be some good old bfmv type of album
Waiting for the generic metalcore breakdown (that isn't BFMV's main thing): @ 3:40, 3:58, 5:24, 5:58, 6:11. Then when they "hit it" with a surpise at 7:40, you like it and I think these moments where you waited them to do the obvious that most of the bands these days do, ruined the song for you atleast in your first reaction here and you can see the disappointment in your face when they didn't do what you thought they would do with this thrash metal song. You even said it yourself how it's written differently and how it's more like a moshpit song than anything else and personally I think it'll be fucking monster one - the one to wait kind of a song that makes people "lose their fucking minds" like Matt Tuck likes to say. My point? If you expect BFMV to bring you basic breakdowns every song, you'll probably think "still not great" about them. More like a "not my genre" maybe...

Knives was a miss for me, but I honestly love this track a lot more than I thought I would. The way the chorus hits after the unclean pseudo-chorus is fantastic and the whole structure of the song is overall stranger than the normal ABABCB. I love that! Completely unexpected after Gravity and the more I listen, the more it grows on me!

I don't want band to keep doing the same, but I feel BFMV don't capitalize on what makes them unique - the leads, the catchy chorus, the majestic solos. They keep trying new things which are cool but they don't hit like older bullet
They seem to try to capitalize on other Band's styles... I mean so far both singles sound like a dollar store Slipknot and the prior album sounded like BMTH's That's the spirit. Which is indeed a shame because these guys are super talented.
Those new BFMV songs are like... alright, and it's great that they bring back the heaviness, but they really missed the mark I think. When talking heavy Bullet, I'm talking No Way Out or Hand of Blood. But this feels like the generic "heavy just to be heavy"
& when you become a good musician you tend to make easier written songs that sound just as good as a more dynamic one! And especially Matt goes for that Bc he sings & plays guitar!
I wish bfmv don't ever see this video of yours and all the people down in the comments saying parasite is a bad song. Oh my god! You guys are unbelievable. Bet none of you knows how to put music like THAT together. You should be a little more well informed after deciding to do a reaction of such a song or say your opinion about a masterpiece like this. This songs good but definitely not their best! But he talked about there being a song that gives off tears don’t fall vibes in it.. So expecting one or two slower or more melodic songs on the album!
I think the song is okay, some parts are sick, but what really loses me is the mix. I feel like there’s not much low end and the bass drum sounds too pfff and not boom
Definitely agree there, I think it just needs a bit more added to the song to make it feel more alive. It feels like it’s lacking in some areas. I think Matt’s voice is another thing that is a bit underwhelming in this track too. It’s heavy but it can be so much better.
Literally the only thing I've heard people say about the new bullet is that it's "heavy"....like ok ...but that doesn't make it a good song...this one just doesn't hit it right for me...I hate when songs feel heavy for the sake of being heavy
Honestly, BFMV just kinda died off for me. My tastes in music has got more refined and BFMV just pales in comparison to the bands I listen to now. Its like they try to hard to break away from what made them popular then it fails miserably and then they come back with an album where they half-heartedly try to go back to an original formula and fail.
I think Matt likes to go out of his way to prove people wrong. I remember during the gravity era people were saying be couldn't scream like he used to and I think he used these 2 songs to prove that he still can. But now I'm seeing a lot of people are saying its a bit too excessive. Seems he can't win with everyone no matter what he does haha

Its a cool song, better than Knives, but I don't know, its so bland, like, songs from Venom are also heavy, but in addition they have great melody too, and better build up. Its for sure better than previous album already, obviously.
I'd say this song is kinda basic.. as in it has one scream tone, quite boring thrashy instrumentation and the lyrics couldn't really be much more cringe imo. It's interesting to me that other than maybe Temper Temper, their newest song seems to have the simplest and most angsty lyrics, as if written by an angry teenager with very little experience in songwriting. Obviously to each their own, but the lyrics completely destroy the song for me, and apart from the solo there is nothing here to rectify it. So far we have insanely repetitive Knives and boring cringy Parasite.. not a good start for a comeback album in my opinion
