Gotta be honest. This album scared me Ive never had an album hit as hard, mentally This album somehow managed to stab me in the heart in a way that no other album has done. Cancer and Noise are beautiful songs. I'm happy I was alive to witness these bands. But damn man, this album hits way too deep
I went to one of their shows and had a riser seat. My mom passed away when I was young, along with my grandpa, grandma, and four of my friends who committed suicide. Growing up, many bands were my comfort, especially Prada. I wasn't the cringe "they saved my life" person, but music was a beautiful thing I could distract myself with in regard to emotions. It was the first show I had a few drinks at because I'm always in the pit. When I saw Cancer live, and sung to it during, my buried emotions resurfaced. I went into the venue bathroom and cried for the first time in my life, since my mother's passing. Color Decay is a gorgeous album that is brutally hard to listen too.
On first listen I thought yeh it’s dark, uplifting where it’s needed but overall pretty dark. Read the lyrics and fuck me is it dark. But exactly what’s needed
Honestly, the first time I heard 'Cancer' I broke down. The word play and idea of dealing with so much shit, that 'Cancer' would be an easier thing to deliver to someone. Like you don't want to explain your problems, the things you have on your plate, your mental health, the dramas and struggles of your life that the person asking is unaware of, that simply having 'cancer' would be easier to talk about because most people know on surface level is a terrible thing, they don't need the full story or nuances of how it affects you, cancer is trying to kill you, and even that is easier to share than what you have going on. That to me, is one of the most creative, yet depressing ways of describing a sad, depressed, and chaotic life. And on the same level, it could even be about actual cancer, and hoping it's not something else going wrong on top of it. It's such a heartbreakingly poetic duality. Might be my album of the year.
Y'know The lead singer said the song has another message than what you said, but it kind of ruined how I looked at the song, which is what you typed So I'll just let you believe that, because imo, your idea is much better than what the actual reason is
@@minecraftsteve2504 what I’ve read from them about the lyrics is actually pretty spot on to what OP said. Mind sharing where you saw the other interview or questions?
@@JakeLudenit’s based around the struggle of their/my generation, suicide and overdose. Im going to paste a comment I left on another reactors video to TDWP's "Salt" video below (from 3 months ago). This full album release has only confirmed my feelings. TDWP, IMO, has aged like fine wine. My comment is below: "I was in middle school during the mid-2000s, and I never really listened to heavier music during that time (Trivium is probably the limit at the time). While I've never listened to many bands that were doing that type of sound at the time "With roots above and branches below" was a great album (even though I was late to the party). But as years pass I've found that TDWP has really nailed their sound. Even a song like this sounds fantastic. They just really seem in touch with who they are as a band. Parkway Drive just put out a song that is so generic and godawful (IMO). But even though this is quite different from TDWP's catalog it still feels like them. If that makes any sense. It's not a song that makes you say "Oh no" for a band's direction. Because once again, I fully believe this band knows their roots and can comfortably experiment with their sound. I really love this song."
This album made me feel things I haven’t felt in a LONG time. It reminds me of how I felt when I listened to “The Place I Feel Safest” by Currents. Very huge production, stellar instrumentation, and very deep/personal lyrics that bring huge emotional responses. It’s the only Prada album I’ve loved every single track. Breathtaking.
Watching your video while still coping with what my ears just witnessed. What a powerful release from TDWP, I really like their current direction and you can tell they have honed their style. Also, I have to join the crying party.
I’m gonna be honest, a few of these songs had me in tears. This album made me **FEEL** in a way that I really haven’t in while listening to new releases this year. Absolutely AotY for me.
I really haven’t FELT much with recent releases this year. The only album that made me feel in the last 9 months was Red Hot Chili Peppers newest album. But metalcore had been failing me this year. Until this record. This is AOTY for sure right now.
Heroine from Thornhill got me in a vibey mood and is probably in second place for AOTY so far for me, but this album literally had me in tears. Listening to trapped, twenty five, sacrifice and especially cancer are literally just sucker punches in the feels for me it’s insane. It’s been a while since a release has just left a hole in me, but not because it’s bad, but because of how raw and honest it is. I just can’t even put into words what this album means to me so I’ll stop rambling but man, TDWP just broke my heart and mended it at the same time. That’s the best way I can put it.

A wonderful album I can't stop listening to it for the third week. In my opinion, I hear in it a mixture of emo 90s-00s and something from post-punk post-hardcore (for example, the song "Trapped") with the current modern metalcore of the 20s. And the song "twenty-five" reminded me of the sound of the experimental band "my own private Alaska" which used only drums, piano and scream vocal in his art
Songs like "Twenty - Five" are what'll bring me to tears, and make me contemplate life. Edit: Hallucinate is a top 5 song of 2022 for me. This whole album is top 5 of 2022 for me, as well. Edit #2: "Cancer" got me at the end. Hit way too close to home ❤️
Favorite Metal Band in 2022…im in a very complicated moment of my life and Trapped hit every bit of my heart…enjoyed Metal after very long time, i had fun listening to the album…almost like pain was not there…and had lots of it both physically and mentally this past month…hope this is just one more little step out of this bad dark moment…everybody goes through this shit…and wish everybody going through the dark phase luck…i know you are tired…im tired myself and wish i didnt wake up just to have some actual rest…but you don’t wanna go without living a life you would brag about on the other side, or mom/dad or whoever loves you the most would be devastated, what about your friends? The real ones that visit you, text you and check on you often…let’s do our best to survive and hope this bad moment ends soon…and if your body can’t really do it…it’s ok, take your rest…we’ll remember you for good, the end is not defeat
I don't care how many times I've watched this exact reaction. I still appreciate I get to enjoy this album with someone who reacts in such positive way to this album. Thank you Bogdan
I have never been a fan of Devil Wears Prada. The whole screamy talky singing they normally do just doesn't do it for me. BUT THIS ALBUM IS ABSOLUTELY FRICKIN' AMAZING! Like seriously, I just heard sacrifice because it was suggested by Spotify and I was like who the heck is this, this is awesome? And to my surprise it was TDWP. I just think the melodies in this album are just hauntingly beautiful and that is not to mention the weird timing and syncopation of the riffs. So good.
i have never cried actually to an album before and i cried twice in this album. thank you so much for showing me this band bogdan. you quite literally have changed my perspective on music.
I have listened to Prada since 2011 or so. While I do have a nostalgic soft spot in my heart for things like Zombie and Dead Throne, this album absolutely blew me away. The songs just sound SO good together. I love seeing them grow and change. The emotion definitely comes across on this album. I wouldn’t be surprised if this ends up being one of my favorite albums of the year :)
Dead Throne and The Act are my favorites ever by them. Kills me when people say shit like “not heavy like old Prada” because goddamn this band is so old and a leader in this genre. Bands are allowed to evolve and grow; TDWP went from ridiculously heavy songs with equally ridiculous names to an album that absolutely rips your heart out with its lyrics. Goddamn I could never get tired of this group.
bro, fr. It’s hard to find metalcore album in the last 3 years with 0 skips. But Bad Omens, Spiritbox and TDWP did it, and although they’re not as heavy as traditional metalcore I still think they are top 5 best metalcore bands rn.
How these guys have gone from Born To Lose, Sailor’s Prayer, Dead Throne, and other brutal songs to these emotional bangers is musical progression at its finest
In full honesty, I wasn’t captured by the singles last year and I didn’t really understand all the hype. But, I decided to give the full album a few thorough listens back in January and it just suddenly clicked with me. It’s been my most listened to album in 2023 so far, and I’m so glad I gave it a chance because it is so so good!
After I heard this album for the first time, I knew that once Hard Core reacted to the full album he would add 'crying' into the title. Color Decay just has that emotion.
I felt like Color Decay is like a part two hybrid of The Act. My personal opinion. Exhibtion being this album's version of Lines In Your Hands Broken being this album's version of Chemical. Trapped being this album's version of Please Say No Hallucinate being this album's version of Spiderhead Cancer being this album's version of As Kids
For some reason this album reminds me of when Silverstein released "Retrograde". I think it's because after being a band for so many years and so many releases, they came out and released arguably one of their best albums. Still early days for this album but I absolutely love it!!!!
I would've already loved this record if it dropped at any other point of the year, but having this drop in the middle of a really rough point in the year made it hit ten times more, and was the music therapy I desperately needed. Easily AOTY. Twenty-Five is the best song on the record, and I tear up each time I hear it.
I just got this album a couple days ago. I skipped past a few songs they released on my commute to work and "Twenty-Five" started playing... My friend died from an overdose the day before I got this album. It was so surreal.
The first listen I was on a bus, when Trapped came on I had to hold back tears This album is beautiful and is a perfect mix of all the Prada sounds over the years. It’s such a mature and refined sound! Up there with Elegy for AOTY for me
AOTY. I never listened to Prada except Chemical, but started to pick them up due to Spotify's Release Radar. What can I say, this album is beautiful. AOTY candidate for sure. It has BMTH 2010 - 2013 vibe, a bit of latest Architects influence and unique Prada's pattern. Love it!
This is definitely my album of the year "thus far". I've got friends who've heard some upcoming releases telling me to "get ready", but it's gonna take something seriously magical to top this record. I personally identified with "Twenty-Five" so much that I was straight up ugly crying for like an hour after. What a masterpiece. Not a single song on here was a miss.
Wow, I couldn't put my finger on it, but this is spot on. Sum 41 is one of my all time favorites, and this album so far feels like I've known it for years.
Gotta be honest.

How these guys have gone from Born To Lose, Sailor’s Prayer, Dead Throne, and other brutal songs to these emotional bangers is musical progression at its finest
In my opinion this is their best full-length album since With Roots Above..
This is one of the best albums of the last 5 years. Incredible.
This is easily top 3 albums this year. Absolutely incredible, amazing reaction man
I want TdwP, Veil of Maya and Underoath to go on tour!!
This is their best fucking release in a long time. I am absolutely in love with this album
7:10 - exactly how I felt hearing that song for the first time
Definitely a contender for album of the year. What a damn album.
this is honestly one of the best albums ive ever heard in my life and that is saying alot
After I heard this album for the first time, I knew that once Hard Core reacted to the full album he would add 'crying' into the title. Color Decay just has that emotion.
I'm not that big of a TDWP fan, but i cannot deny how this album had me headbanging, vibing and bawling my eyes out when I listened to it.
Just saw them live a couple weeks back and the singles from Color Decay sound so good! I can't wait to listen to all of the album live!
I felt like Color Decay is like a part two hybrid of The Act. My personal opinion.
Exhibtion being this album's version of Lines In Your Hands
Broken being this album's version of Chemical.
Trapped being this album's version of Please Say No
Hallucinate being this album's version of Spiderhead
Cancer being this album's version of As Kids
Is vibe/deep metalcore becoming a thing? Spiritbox, Bad Omens, TDWP dropping 10s left right and center.
For some reason this album reminds me of when Silverstein released "Retrograde". I think it's because after being a band for so many years and so many releases, they came out and released arguably one of their best albums. Still early days for this album but I absolutely love it!!!!
Album of the decade
I would've already loved this record if it dropped at any other point of the year, but having this drop in the middle of a really rough point in the year made it hit ten times more, and was the music therapy I desperately needed. Easily AOTY. Twenty-Five is the best song on the record, and I tear up each time I hear it.
This album was so fucking good. Honestly blown away. I can't wait to see them in April with August Burns Red
I cried with this album all night . It was soooo gorgeous!!! This is why I love Prada . Good ass poetry !!! 😊
I just got this album a couple days ago. I skipped past a few songs they released on my commute to work and "Twenty-Five" started playing...
My friend died from an overdose the day before I got this album. It was so surreal.
Your final statement about Prada and Parkway? Couldn’t have said it any better
I miss the heavy low screams mike does. There’s very little of it but I love the sound. 8/10 absolutely love the album.
The first listen I was on a bus, when Trapped came on I had to hold back tears
This album is beautiful and is a perfect mix of all the Prada sounds over the years. It’s such a mature and refined sound! Up there with Elegy for AOTY for me
cancer had my ass sobbing
I need more albums and songs similar to this album 😩
Still in 2023, this is one of my top 5 albums of all time
Love it!
I'm pretty sure Bogdan never had to try so hard not to cry in his life like he had while listening to this album 🤣
this is straight up my aoty, what a fucking good album
what a banger indeed
this album has made me cry so many times
This is definitely my album of the year "thus far". I've got friends who've heard some upcoming releases telling me to "get ready", but it's gonna take something seriously magical to top this record. I personally identified with "Twenty-Five" so much that I was straight up ugly crying for like an hour after. What a masterpiece. Not a single song on here was a miss.
This album hit me hard. This is their best work. Been going through some stuff this year… this album gives me chills and tears. Unbelievable.
This band can do no wrong
@Madden 07 Soundtrack Fan Account [Norma Jean AOTY] Plagues is great though?
@Madden 07 Soundtrack Fan Account [Norma Jean AOTY] yeah, they wanted to agree with OP
@Madden 07 Soundtrack Fan Account [Norma Jean AOTY] louder than thunder is amazing
@Madden 07 Soundtrack Fan Account [Norma Jean AOTY] I love louder than thunder. Leave that out
Unreal album it's genuinely so good
Watched this two days ago: this album has been on constant play since. I’m worried.
mike's best writing ever, unreal
Noise fucking SLAPS
Spitting facts at 13:20
Best album Ive heard in years.!...name another better complete one than this
Maybe not better, but I'm really jamming with True Power by I Prevail. Just another excellently produced, very complete album.
Maybe....Infant annihilator - The battle of Yaldabaoth.... It's was very emotional for me 🥲
@@Pigkore yes, childchewer brought me to tears. Very emotional.
Miss May I - Cursed of existence when😢
This album is too good. Prada are too good, I'm so glad they keep on going.
twenty five hit so hard for me. rerun of my life.
Literally the best album
Some good cleansing after Parkway Drive
ikr?
TDWP casually dropping one of if not THE record of the year
Definitely their best work in a long time. Am I the only one that gets Sum 41 vibes from a lot of the songs?
Pieces - Sum 41 for broken, definitely
Nope . I had that feeling with broken
Wow, I couldn't put my finger on it, but this is spot on. Sum 41 is one of my all time favorites, and this album so far feels like I've known it for years.
Album of the year contender.
This album left me speechless.
It's an amazing album!!!
Prada Supremacy
Best shit since z1, this album was incredible
This album is fucking great
I simply cannot listen to trapped and not shed at least 1 tear.
Waiting for your MMI new album reaction 🤞
Amazing album. Sounds like Taking Back Sunday in 2005 except 2022 heavy.
