I had the exact same reaction on Twenty-Five. Started out scratching my head but was overwhelmed by the end! Great song and great album. Glad you posted this so I could jam out with ya!
Hallucinate has to be the best song of 2022 10/10 track, it has a very indescribable dark and sinister vibe. you can feel every single ounce of emotion in the vocals and instrumental (Noise has a simular vibe)
You know, they're one of those bands that I just kind of know about, but have never sat down and listened to. I really should check out some of their stuff. Everything I've heard sounds right up my alley!
So far "Shine & Fade" by Saviour has been holding the spot as best album of 2022 but "Color Decay" is making a strong push for the top spot. It truly is a masterpiece of an album and I am happy they are continuing off the momentum they started with "The Act".
I doubt anything better than this is getting released between now and then end of the year. You calling it a "masterpiece" is absolutely BANG ON! An astonishingly good album! 🖤
Color Decay might just be my favorite album to come out in the last 5 years by any band. The emotional ride it takes me on just floors me to the center of the Earth every single listen.
This album is amazing front to back. I'm so glad I found a video stating literally everything I thought last night whilst listening. Yes it only just dropped but I know this is something to be excited about. It's amazing!
Did you get to hear how clear as day the synths were on forlorn when you saw them? I heard it in my video I took and I was blown away definitly a band to see live! That sacrifice build up was great live!
The only album this year with a chance to top it could be invent, animate's new album (according to me at least). Otherwise this is definitely aoty for me.
You might get it but this whole album gives me strong The Black Parade vibes by MCR. I know they're 2 different genres but this album gives me a lot of the same warmth and comfort as TBP
This, TDOPOM, and Miss May I's Curse of Existence are my favorite albums rn. Can't wait for new currents too Edit" I like the whole album in 1 video. Just my opinion
The ONLY complaint I have is the way the clean vocals are compressed/processed, little too breathy for my taste like when he sings during Salt at around 6:00 in this video, especially the "P" of paralyzed, so much air in it.
I cried over “trapped” like a little kid, since i heard it it becamed very personal, and then cancer had me too❤️ this album is such a masterpiece
Yeah the back half of this album is super emotionally heavy.
Trapped absolutely crushed me!!
Trapped is legit insane. The lyrics r just so powerful.
same 🥲
The amount of emotion from Mike in this album is insane. I hope he's doing okay.
same here i hope mike is doing ok
I had the album on repeat during a hike with my doggo, and I felt the same thing in the lyrics. Did Mike go through a separation or?
Yes, he had a breakup during COVID
@@smarfbag8714 The keyboardist writes a lot of lyrics too, maybe they all need a hug
The track Twenty-five is actually about that separation
I love how TDWP experiments so much. Their last album was OK.... Color Decay is FIRE.
Yeah I definitely like this more than the act.
@@davidpwolfe Yes sir!
I had the exact same reaction on Twenty-Five. Started out scratching my head but was overwhelmed by the end! Great song and great album. Glad you posted this so I could jam out with ya!
Glad you enjoyed it!
''Salt'' gives me Bring Me vibes, it sounds like thats the spirit, sempiternal and Post Human all in one

“Trapped” is the sad song of the year
Absolutely!
TDWP still amazes me. I've been a fan since Plagues and they just do not let it down. It's dark but beautiful in the same energy.
It's amazing you mentioned la-dispute. Haven't heard anyone talk about them. I even seen them back when they was just a local band.
You know, they're one of those bands that I just kind of know about, but have never sat down and listened to. I really should check out some of their stuff. Everything I've heard sounds right up my alley!
I love the Shoe-Gaze elements of ''Cancer'', and I how Punk the chorus sounds.

Shine and Fade fucking BANGS, also my favourite album of the year. I loved A Lunar Rose but Shine and Fade blows it out of the water imo
I doubt anything better than this is getting released between now and then end of the year. You calling it a "masterpiece" is absolutely BANG ON! An astonishingly good album! 🖤
It's definitely going to be hard to top!
Great reaction dude! I hope they keep this sound. Trapped and Broken are my fav rn
Great picks! Thanks for the kind words!
I've had the album on repeat since release. It's so good.
I have been looking forward to this album all year too and was not disappointed! Long worth the wait!!
Same!
That ending of Noise kind of reminds me of the choir part in Dangerous Business by UO, just heavier. I get chills every time
100%! That's one of my favorite Underoath songs too!
Color Decay might just be my favorite album to come out in the last 5 years by any band. The emotional ride it takes me on just floors me to the center of the Earth every single listen.

It's definitely a really special album. Glad you enjoyed the video!
@@davidpwolfe like you said it's nostalgic to old Prada which I love! Great video!
this is mikes best writing ever, it's so dynamic and beautiful
Definitely agree!
Jon wrote a lot of the album.
Jon produced this album. Great reaction!
He did a fantastic job then!
Thanks!
I had the exact same reaction to 25. Such a great song. Mike screamed his heart out
Solid State takes the year as a label. Collectively, their releases in 2022 are untouchable.
For sure! Especially if Silent Planet drops more music this year
best 2022 metal Album
That's a valid pick!
The Underoath song in the background yesss
One of my favorites!
Did you get to hear how clear as day the synths were on forlorn when you saw them? I heard it in my video I took and I was blown away definitly a band to see live! That sacrifice build up was great live!
Oh yeah, everything sounded fantastic live! They're got a a really great setup!

I am really looking forward to IA's album!

I can see that!
@@davidpwolfe already listened to the album twice before work. I haven't stopped since it dropped. SOOO good
This, TDOPOM, and Miss May I's Curse of Existence are my favorite albums rn. Can't wait for new currents too
Edit" I like the whole album in 1 video. Just my opinion
Thanks for the feedback! Hopefully I can do some more full albums soon.
Hi, there's no section for Fire, probably because there's a dot in the description instead of '':''
Thanks for catching that! Should be fixed now.
Trapped, man that song hit me a ton of bricks i have people in my life now that help me with that and I felt like it was them singing to me 😢
The ONLY complaint I have is the way the clean vocals are compressed/processed, little too breathy for my taste like when he sings during Salt at around 6:00 in this video, especially the "P" of paralyzed, so much air in it.
Interesting observation! I don't think I would have ever picked that out.
you should do a transit blues reaction
I would, but I've already heard it!
Has nobody mentioned the time signature in Twenty Five? Bro....
This album hits like a truck
Absolutely! So emotional!
Exhibition my favourite song 🔥✅👍
