  • In this video I go over what to expect when you purchase or own a Yamaha R1 in the city. My R1 is a 2018 and her name is Nebula, and I love her to death. But....... This may be the last R1 I will ever purchase. To find out why please watch the video. Ride safe my friends!

    The Yamaha R1 is like a drug. I already have a fourth. RN12, RN32, RN49 and now RN65 R1M. I will be 67 years old and still enjoy the power, acceleration and sound.

    I agree with your point very much. I owned a liter gixxer. It was fun I loved the bike, but
    1. It gets boring to drive within speed limits unless you are a speed demon.
    2. I miss it, but I realize I would buy another super sport if only I decided to do track days at least twice a month.
    3. It felt a bit stupid that I couldn’t twist the wrist more than 10% to stay within reasonable speed in the city.
    Happy owner of MT09 SP now. I think I am driving on average in 20%-70% power range and feels like I am driving this bike as it was meant to be.
    The two things I will forever miss that super sport has:
    1. Teleportation to any part of the road at any gear. Especially at higher speeds.
    2. Aerodynamics.

      Love sportbikes for long trips. Gives you some space to truly gun it from time to time. For city work...........they absolutely suck. Usable. But suck. Mostly cause of the heat.

    Yes, of course its too much for the road, of course its boring at legal speeds, of course its uncomfortable and has poor fuel economy, but when you do twist that throttle, it just blows your mind! The noise, the handling through the bends, the compression, is indescribable! I just love it! I have had three R1s over 10 years, I cannot get enough. I keep thinking I should quit and be sensible, but every time I go and ride it and my adrenalin is pumping, I think: I don't know what I am going to do when I'm not fit enough to ride anymore.

    My brother I’m 34. Just got my “M” license and I cannot wait to do exactly what you’re doing, go 40 in a 40. I bought the bike for its sound first and looks second. To be delivered in September. And the idea that I know it’s completely unnecessary, and anybody watching me drive by at 40 knows it’s unnecessary too, makes me chuckle.

    Best looking R1 I’ve ever seen. I wasn’t a big fan of this generation but yours stands out amongst the rest. So we’ll put together that one can not help but admire her.

    They make the gas tank small to save weight to race, they make the seat thin and uncomfortable so you can feel what the rear tire is doing, to race. This is a track bike through and through.

    I have a 2022 R1 and love it! (this is my second R1 to own). And, I have to agree with YamaYari about the cons. However, it gives me a ton of joy to ride!

  • @dm-ep6yj
    @dm-ep6yj 3 месяца назад

    Totally agree. You really have to try hard to keep it at the posted speeds and even then it just feels like you're going way too slow. What makes it worse is the exhaust (Austin racing decat) note at high RPM is extremely addictive.

    I am in the market for an R7 and I found an R1 at the same price. I climbed on and I’m still shook. I can’t believe people are brave enough to pull the trigger on that. I thought I’m good but I’m properly scared😅😅😅

    I just got a 2022 MT-09 SP...and it's a first bike. I love that it has rider aids, but I know I need to ride responsibly and slowly learn to ride it! When/Where will I ever be able to do 180 MPH?, or do 140 MPH? (top speed of the MT-09 SP) Super Sports look cool af, but I bet the naked bikes get more smiles per mile.

    The only thing that bothers me is the first gear being too long for high traffic roads, and that is a common issue with sports bikes when used to commute, if I buy another bike it will be a bmw gs1250, but keeping my r1😁

    You know what, I literally lust for the Yamaha R1. And I’m a rider who is of your age group and rides like you. I have an MT09 SP, thanks to you, which I bought after seeing your videos. But I have a question. When you ride the R1 at low speeds, does it feel like riding a Jack hammer?

    • @yamayari8351
      @yamayari8351  Год назад

      Lol 😂 jack hammer at times. I did have the suspension adjusted to help with that but yes. At times it’s a ruff ride for sure. Probably why most long rides I’m super sore afterwards. Thank you for watching the Channel 🙏
