- Hey all. This is my TOP 20 Weapons and the Overpowered Builds for them in Elden Ring. Each weapon is ranked and given a RL 150 build to do solid damage. These can make for many overpowered builds and can range from Faith builds to Bleed Builds and Magic Builds. All of these are great options to beat up bosses in the Lands in Between. I worked on this one for about a week and was really happy with the order I finally came up with! So, grab a weapon and build and take on some of Elden Ring's toughest bosses! I chose side bosses and main game bosses for this video to make it quick while also going over and ranking the weapons.

I’m not sure what the song Tiny Bubbles is like claim wise, but it’s a great song to blast during bosses with the bubbles.
What do you mean by "affinities"?
@@matthewsmith1779 after you get the different whetblades, you can change regular weapon affinities to say fire, lightning, blood, etc.
One thing to note with unsheathe whether on moonveil or any katana is you can crouch after doing unsheathe which will cancel the recovery animation faster and enable you to deal much higher dps and poise dps as well. What can happen is if you don’t animation cancel if you try to go right back into another unsheathe you may end up doing a heavy attack instead. I did a playthrough using only the Nagakiba with unsheathe and it was a very very solid weapon choice. I was able to get a pretty much scripted Elden Beast kill with the crouch unsheathe tech I mentioned, not many weapons can do that.
I probably would’ve put the Nagakiba on this list as opposed to the Moonveil. Moonveil is still good but it’s a bit more niche to int users. Nagakiba is more versatile, can get more bleed, has more range etc. and unsheathe costs less fp.

I swear you are probably my favourite build channel on youtube right now, constant updates for patches, genuinely fun build, easy to understand. also, blasphemous blade and the ritual sword talisman go hand in hand, pair that with shard of alexander, fire scorpion and dragoncrest greatshield and your pretty much golden, I mean, you can put it with anything but dragoncrest is one of those essential talismans IMO.

God slayer greatsword was my first playthrough weapon. That little flick at the start of the ash of war stuns enemies as well.
Yep it’s great 🤘 Just wish they didn’t nerf the poise during the ash.

The slam (second input) on Starcaller Cry is buffed by terra magika, so use that. Also hold the highland axe in your off hand for extra roar damage (first input), and you can even use the Scepter of All Knowing to debuff enemy magic damage negation before attacking. If you do all this, with standard buffs (GV & FGMS), you'll get some of the highest AoW damage in the game (and it's in a spherical 360, so very useful in a lot of different situations).
Yep it’s quite good but I’m not sure it’s the highest damage. Death’s Poker is 2 inputs as well and can hit for 20-30k with Buffs.
@@TheKingofRedLightning Can someone or maybe specifically you explain why ur using the axe in the off hand? I’m not necessarily new to Elden ring but it is my first DS game and some of the mechanics are new to me.

This is a good top 20. For my personal preference I would add Eleonara's Poleblade, Ordovis's Greatsword and Bloody Helice somewhere in there, maybe 5, 10 and 15 respectively. Eleonara's and Helice have ashes that cause bleed and move you out of danger, sort of like Bloodhound's Fang. Ordovis's Greatsword is the ultimate paladin weapon because unlike many fairh weapons the ash deals mostly physical damage and not the highly resisted holy damage. Eleonara's is my favorite weapon, so I am biased.
Thanks 🙏 yeah I like all those, bloody helice is much better in PvP than PvE though. Eleonora’s is more fun than OP imo. Ordovis is great, but aside from the ridiculous bubbles it’s hard to add holy due to the final stretch (40-80% resistant).
Mine too. Arguably my favorite weapon, for fun moveset and viability, in all of the Soulsborne games.

I was having no luck beating the fire giant and Malenia, so I switched from a strength build to the exact same arcane build you have with the Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear and I absolutely wrecked Melania. The fire giant it didn't hurt as much with the bloodboon ritual, but the sword itself does major damage to him. Excellent build!

This video was super helpful and reminded me about the God Slayer Sword. I had messed up my stats and couldn't find a weapon that worked with my play style and very few tears left, the god slayer is perfect ❤

For Faith my top 3 weapons are #1 Blasphemous Blade, #2 Claymore with either Flame-Art or Sacred imbue ashes of war, #3 Magma Wyrm's Scalesword (Honestly just a better Godslayer's Greatsword as it deals insane damage, more poise and has dodge potential against attacks.
4 and 5 would be Zwei and Coded Sword. Golden Order Greatsword and Sacred Relic Sword are also nice for Faith but less useful in end game.

I'm on my first playthrough as well and I'm starting to think that maybe I'm delving a little too far down the rabbit hole with watching all these videos. I need to beat the damn game and then move on but I'm a completionist and a perfectionist so I'm always looking for Alternatives and explore every single square inch of the map

I wanted to do Mage but obviously that's going to be more difficult than a melee build what's Iran with that but I think I let the game get into my head because I'm overthinking a lot of things just because of how difficult it was in the first chapter

Ordovis's greatsword is one of my favorites very underrated weapon. The damage you deal with the charged ash of war combined with the godfrey icon and shard of the alexander is alot and the stance damage you deal with the ash of war is no joke i think it deals 82 stance damage and even with the 40% stance damage reduction in ng+7 it breaks enemies stances easily

My first playthrough I did Darkmoon Greatsword/spellcaster build. Some bosses I have never even seen their attack animations. When I went into NG+ to play the game as a quality build it was a completely different game. From slicing through everything like a hot knife through butter to getting spanked from even the smaller bosses. It's fun how this game really is dependent on the players abilities to make good builds!

Falling star beast jaw is GOAT if you're willing to go up in to the 200s, never tried it at 150. Great mace is slso nuts
Iron balls/Star Fist definitely should’ve made this list. They deal the highest poise dps in the entire game, and deal colossal weapon damage to boot. You can easily script most bosses in the game because the damage and poise damage is absolutely insane. It is a choice weapon of challenge runners because they are just that good. I’d also like to give an honorable mention to the Bloodhound Claws because they are ridiculously strong with successive attack buffs, faith buffs, bloodflame blade etc. You can easily one cycle the godskin duo with 2 sleep pots and kill them outright. Super strong weapon that doesn’t get talked about enough and they scale well with strength to give you an option for a quick bleed weapon as a strength build.
Yep they’re good they made my top claws & fist weapons, but I separated the 2. Still not a fan of fist weapons reach personally, but yes the Star Fist/Iron Ball charged attacks are quite good 👍
Bloodhound's fang was the weapon I beat the game the first time. It hits like a truck and is actually fast for the kind of weapon it is. It's my favorite dex weapon by far.
It’s very good. It was my first Dex/quality weapon as well. Only reason it isn’t higher is the ash doesn’t have the damage cap (with buffs) as some of the other ones. That being said it’s an excellent and super reliable weapon. 🤘
Iron balls, dual curved swords and deaths poker are my faves. Deaths poker probably my ultimate.

This is kinda random but does anyone know why some hits on bosses make the health bar go down without the yellow bar showing where their health was but some do show where the health was with the yellow bar?
Is duel weilding 2 different starscourge greatswords stronger then 2 handing 1 of them? Im just not too sure how that works?
1 is 2 essentially. You get 2 for the weight of one, and great damage on the slam down ash/too.
On magic builds that use spell blade set and dragon crest greatshield, if you want to wear different armor sometimes, you can wear heavier set and swap the talisman for graven mass or another damage increase.
I got tired of the same set on new game + so thats what i did, my damage mitigations are higher and im doing about the same damage.. you jave to have the stamina for the armor though. So wont work if you jave low stamina

I killed placidusax with like 3-4 bubble showers without being hit in ng+12 days ago i stomped him. After using all knowing staff skill first. But sword od milos would do good too b4 bubble shower

You should change the giant crusher to occult due to the fact it does insane damage, then again I am able to do 80 on strength & Arcane but it is still insane
They’re 150 builds that’s why. Occult and flame art are amazing but at very high levels, 250+.

For the Darkmoon Greatsword absolutely use spiked cracked tear for another 15% increase.
Black Knife should have been on the list. Awesome weapon for faith and dex build I loved the Blade of Death unique skill, help me take down the Fire Giant boss.
Funny thing is I had it at 20 but moved it out for the bubble build. It’s quite good, but it is holy damage (the latter does crazy poise damage too). Certainly a nice pocket faith weapon that packs a punch. 🤘
A really fun weapon to use that makes a lot of fights easy with self heals is the Great Mace with the Prayerful Strike ash of war on it
Yep I have a build for that too, it’s just kinda slow. But powerful and good posture damage 👍
my current build is Marika's Hammer and Great Mace with prayerful strike...I use Marika's weapon art to close the gap (and do nice damage) then quick swap to the mace and hit with prayerful strike......what that doesn't kill outright, usually gets stunned@@TheKingofRedLightning
beastman curved sword with seppuku are great! i think im pulling more dmg with those than sacavenger curved sword
Nice! Those and bandits are better at higher levels. Scavengers for lower levels. At max bandit has the same AR and bleed as Beastmen though, with more reach. 🤘
These are some amazing builds, for the Blasphemous blade build what would you put the stats if you were level 100?
I’m level 108 right now so I’m not 150 yet and I’m planning on doing the rebirth. I’m currently using the guts build and I’m kinda struggling with these later bosses.
Happy to help! You’d want at least 16 strength to 2 hand. 40 Faith and probably 30-40 vigor. Mind can be like 20 or so and same for endurance. 🤘

Bloodhound fang this low is kinda interesting, the ar this weapon reaches with high str and dex is one of the highest.
Yes it’s good, but it doesn’t have the damage cap as some of the higher ones. Especially for people playing around RL 150.
I feel like the Sword of Night and Flame is Elden Ring's version of the Blade of Mercy from Bloodborne. Everyone raves about how OP they are but in my experience, they hit for ass damage constantly, even when completely built around it. Will never understand.

Second playthrough or a drop from a friend, discord or Reddit. If you can’t get a second an off hand regular dagger in blood is solid too. 🤘
Godslayer greatsword is the best with the seal for black flame incantations

Dexterity more after you hit 45 arcane, which caps it decently. 🤘
Just bought this game 2 days ago, already clocked in about 20hrs. Let me tell you something... I have never died so much in a single game. All the hit boxes I am used to are practically nonexistent. Thanks for the build.

The best weapon is the rotten duelist greataxe at +25 blood infused, dex at 52 strength at 33 and arcane at 55 bleed buildup is 166 and ar is 765, adding blood talisman and 2 handing damage goes up at 1 hit on unarmored enemies and 2 hits on the heaviest of armored enemies up to 934. Use the jellyfish shield in your offhand and you will get over 1080. Easily the highest bleed buildup on a single weapon also dealing the highest ar on a blood infused weapon simultaneously. I use the stamp uppercut ash of war to fling them up and charge a heavy to land as they stand up. Instantly bleeding them and breaking their posture for a critical if they are still surviving.
Nice, that doesn’t beat the blasphemous blade or Darkmoon Greatsword imo. Plus enemies that don’t take bleed damage. It’s solid sure, but the rotten duelist axe isn’t even a great scaling weapon. The executioners great axe scales better by comparison.
I played my first faith build with the Blasphemous Blade. After that, I eliminated it from any future playthroughs. Its that strong. You can dominate anything in the game with it. I also eliminated the Envoy Longhorn because while it was my most fun playthrough, that thing is crazy powerful. But I'm having trouble resisting the urge to grab it on my current playthrough because it is so fun.
Fair points, and yeah the Envoy’s Longhorn is a blast to use. Beating tough Elden Ring bosses with bubbles is nothing short of awesome. 🤘

On my first playthrough as a Vagabond. Level 37 atm. Vigor, strength and endurance is what I focus on. I still run with Lordsworn greatsword. Which weapon would be ideal to get now? I do have a bloodfang, but I haven't gone a dexterity route.
If you’re going for strength you can get both GUTS Greatsword & lions claw early on. It’s something you can run all the way through the endgame. Bloodhound’s is great, but it is a quality weapon that leans more dexterity than strength.

In the first build u need the Envoy's head in order to maximize the effectiveness of bubbles
Yep just didn’t have it on that character. I usually run the helm though for the 15%.

Blasphemous Blade and Dark Moon Greatsword can be interchanged as #1 and #2.
With Blasphemous Blade I worry more about FP and guys like Fire Giant, NIHIL Mohg and Rykard togethaaaa (not really Serpent Hunter says hi).
Counterbalanced by bosses like Malenia and Radagon being weak to Fire.
With Dark Moon Greatsword I worry more about HP as I can just spam them icy Getsuga Tenshos. And Rennala is perhaps being the only Magic resistant boss, while Godfrey is weak to Magic I can beat him easily with BB as well.
i knew blasphemous blade was op when i went into the double crucible knight fight with no crimson flasks and first tried the fight by spamming takers flames

It's weird that a weapon from a random chest is not only better than the flail version but also better than any of Astel's remembrances.
They could've made it a whip inspired by Astel's tail than a flail, and AoW is just... meh
Yep, Basterds stars is a disappointing alternative imo. Wing of Astel has the better nebula moveset.
I disagree in that, the ash of is way better in case of Damage. The wing has the bubbles, but doesnt really hit hard. I love bastard stars because the swing deals damage, and if well timed, the bubbles hit 2 to 3 times. Thats easy 4 k damage at +10, if well boosted.
Why is the venomous fang claw build not on this list?
They’re good but fist weapons lack reach (especially for the end game). I did a separate list for top Claws though, and I ranked them as number 1.
Pairing a powered up Misericorde with Blood Blade and Reduvia isn't bad.

I would like to suggest the deaths poker or the Kris dagger.
Death’s Poker is in here at number 7. Kris is good too, just not top 20 imo.
What does the build matter when the enemies attacks are relentless in this game? The attack windows for the player are minute at best. Very frustrating.
Elden Ring is a difficult game, much like all souls games. If you’re having trouble I recommend the Blasphemous Blade for an easier playthrough.
Great Top 20, but you made them all seem... So, so easy. As Feedback, are there any drawbacks to any, like any of these weapons? But more importantly, this looks like more of if not a 1-shot boss guide to a 5-shot boss guide with weapons and build that will require you to meet NG+. Love the video regardless, but over powered isn't a massive need IMO for the community. Try Fun but decent builds for Newgame+ stuff... Id love to watch that.
The black knife is slept on. Combine that with a mimic tear and you got max black beams 😂
True. I originally had it at 20 but switched it for the Envoy’s Longhorn.
mohgwyns Sacred spear without white mask is still good ?
It’s only 10% more damage. It’s really up to the player and their own style.
I suggest using the godskin peeler 13+ i shredded placidusax health
Nice they’re not bad with Seppuku. Envoy’s Longhorn and ADLS also work well on him, the latter can one shot him.

The tree spear isn’t bad early game. It does fine for the early game bosses 👍 there’s way better faith & Dex weapons later on though.

@@DrTurkMD a flame art Nagakiba with flaming strike is solid. Or any flame art weapons (the affinity has faith scaling, whetblade for it is at Redmane castle in Caelid). Mid game you’ll get the blasphemous blade, an amazing faith weapon with some strength investment. Dex/faith is good, but strength/faith is even better (and more OP options). Hopefully that helps 🤘

Yep! Sure is. I only have 1 of my 7 characters that’s not on NG+7, and I didn’t use him for this one.

You need the whetblade for it. Should be in Redmane Castle in Caelid.

I just mentioned this in his ultimate mage build video. Fire's Deadly Sin works ridiculously well with Zamor Ice Storm or Ghostflame Ignition on the Death's Poker.

There’s a lot of good options but the blasphemous blade is easy for the final boss. Black flame tornado is great too.
How in the world are you using both Knight's Resolve and Lion's Claw ashes of war on the Giant Crusher simultaneously??
It’s not Lion’s Claw, that’s the Giant-Crusher’s signature R2. 🤘

Which Ashes of War should i play? I am a beginner and playing with bloodhounds fang.
Bloodhound’s is good early, one of the best early game weapons. Grab bloodflame blade in the lakes too to compliment the build. 🤘

For me its still the bloodhounds fang build.
1. Why should i play with Dragon communion Seal? Bloodflame blade is no dragon communion or? And you dont use spells with Dragon Communion so it dont benefit me right? Maybe the finger seal is good too, i have seen it in other builds.
2. U dont say something about Shields. I play with a shield and i think it makes it easier. If i play without shield, i cannot block and can only dodge right? Is it necessary that i need to learn playing without shield?
3. Can i only parry if i play with shield and dont have a legendary weapon or Ashes of war? Because on L2, my character does the signature ability of Bloodhungs Fang and i dont wanna miss that. Then i prefer play without parrying.

I agree with some weapons but this list in my opinion has some good weapons but there are better single and combo weapons out there just wish some people would look at more then just there ability to
Kill and boss at high level I play pvp most of the time and I get sick of people trying to spam moonvail on me 20 times thinking it will hit me on the 21st
This list is for PvE. For PvP combos and such I really can’t speak to it, as I rarely play PvP. Maybe one day I’ll get back into it though 🤔
I main a godskin peeler +25 with seppuku, two hands wielding, and i think its better than gargoyle's, i shredded godskin duo and mohg's health with only one, imagine dual wielding
They’re all pretty close. For me I feel like I had a little more AR when I used Gargoyles, but I usually state “jump attack bleed builds” because they’re all close lol personally I prefer curved swords over twinblades for damage, particularly the scavengers (single stat investment for damage in arcane on occult/easy at RL 125 & 150). But they’re all good imo. 🤘

Dark Moon Greatsword outclasses Blasphemous Blade for me. More damage, stagger, and frostbite. Blasphemous is for sure #2 but I’ve made both builds and the Dark Moon is just stupidly powerful
I feel the opposite because you heal every time with the BB. It’s kinda easy mode when you can tank a hit you otherwise wouldn’t survive lol but they’re both very good 👍
@@TheKingofRedLightningI feel that and the healing of the BB is really strong. However in my Darkmoon Sword build I basically never even get touched and don’t even have to worry about healing. A couple beams and a stagger + riposte and everything melts. The frostbite applies before the riposte too so you hit for absolutely insane numbers.
Really great game, but quest lines are really confusing and had to use google a lot to know where to progress... This is not the case in past souls games, so a little bit annoyed by the poor choice... It's really hard to put souls game in open world... Doesn't seem to fit.

They can be good just didn’t make my top 20. I like the Dragon Cragblade a fair bit but it’s ash is a little hit or miss.

Most of the highest damage you’ll get is from ashes of war and spells/incantations. The most varied play is probably faith with incantations too.

The ash of war on bloodhound's fang is perhaps the main reason why the weapon is so broken.

No not really, just decent after like 3 nerfs.
Blasphemous blade is so broken i ditched my double katana build with moonveil and rivers of blood for BB, quite literally can heal yourself without using a flask its that overpowered

Nah, it’s been nerfed too many times. Trust me I thought about it, but it’s not even close imo to what it used to be. There’s a lot of better bleed options out there.
Scavenger build you are lv 150 but your stat is like a 200... how is that posible? At 150 my arcane nowhere near 80
160 (10 more with faith tear). You can easily hit 80 arc if you go low mind & 50 vigor. 🤘
I have to stop commenting until ive watched the whole video but the scavengers curved swords are class but the blasphemous blade is clearly the best.............or maybe the godslayer.....or even the glaive but with phantom slash ash....to many really good options

It’s very good for sure, esp on occult. Blasphemous is still the easiest imo though due to the distance and healing. Both are easy mode in their own way 🤘

They’re both great imo. Lions claw though you get nearly infinite hyper armor.

NG+? Not really. There’s people that stay on NG for a fair bit of time.

Despite completing multiple FS titles, I just couldn’t bring myself to love this game, every time I try to immerse myself, it just doesn’t connect at all. The visual is awesome yes, but the story and the gameplay is just like a copy paste of previous titles and the world is empty as fvck. I don’t have any issues with bosses it’s just that it gets boring pretty fast..
