I agree with this entirely. The only thing I'd add is that you CAN sort of farm the albinurics at Mohg's without the the Sacred Relic sword. Before I'd beaten the game I used Rotten Breath to clear them. Not sure whether it's any faster than the bird - the annoyance with the bird was that you had to periodically go get more arrows. I DID find using Rock Sling with the arrows reach talisman worked quite well. You have to stand in a different spot to the bow though.
So you did all this math and omitted the Golden Scarab? Cuz in NG, the Cliff jump in Mohgwyn gave me about 161k runes and you had a whole variety of cliffs to jump off of. Whereas Ordina was a consistent 180k w the scarab.
Now where those Cliff scammers ARE full of 💩 is when they say 300k but omit the reality that they are doing it w/scarab+fowl foot+NGPlus.

I personally despise the RUclipsrs who do the "Make MILLIONS of Runes" type of videos and they don't do the math to show the rune amount to time ratio or tell you that they're in their 5th NG+ because each NG gives you more runes per kill. Or they show a rune "sponsor" where you can buy runes before showing the rune farm. Like bruh, why are you wasting money on sumn that you can get for free in this game..it's sad lol

Something else to consider when farming the albinaurics is overkill, you get 20% bonus runes when you overkill anything by 150% of its max hp. If you pump up your faith, wear alexander's shard, holy scorpion talisman, and ritual sword talisman you can get even more runes from the same farm.

@@EmberBorne I would love also if u can actually explain what to look for to make sure its a bleed proc weapon and how to find more or buy from npc because early game i sold all weapons that a mage wouldn't use.
@@TheMedoGuy in elden ring in general just dont sell weapons. since u can respec your entire build with 1 item and all weapons are good and a lot are only obtainable once per run unless u do ng+.
As a new player my problem is that I have no idea where those places are.
Sure you can beat the dragon with beginner weapons, but I don't think I can even get where the dragon is. I can't get past the Sellia
He also kept mentioning Gold Pickled Fowl Foot without saying what it is or where to find it. I looked it up now so all good but as a beginner I was pretty confused. Love this mans guides though, great content regardless.
don't forget to add group passwords, it gives a temporary 5% rune buff everytime someone in the group defeats a shardbearer boss. adding 5 active groups is basically 100% up time on the buff
I didn't know that since I only play offline, that is awesome, free extra runes!
I think that buff disappears when you sit at a grace, at least I noticed it disappearing quickly whenever I was farming.

As far as I know, the farms where you fall on Torrent work by eventually despawning the map, but not the enemies. Without the maps collision they fall to their death the same way you would without attacking while falling, as being in the fall animation for some time just kills.

You’re too far away, so the ground despawns, but you’re still in the “area” so the enemies don’t

The ledge Albinaurics are also a great place to test out armaments, parries, buffs and damage numbers. Just keep an eye out for the red’s pinwheel attack. About 2k runes a kill. It’s a nice way to mix up the bird.
The red dudes rolling attack is scary but if you stay near the cliff and dodge to the left of the red dudes when they roll at you they roll right off the edge of the cliff and die 😂
Glad I’m not the only one who stabs one of those guys every time I have a new weapon to test 😂
Just literally dodge towards them when they get close with the spiky roll and they'll miss every time. Sometimes you get lucky and they'll just roll right off the map.

@@MrSnrSquishy I haven't got them to consistently roll of the cliff, but it's nice that sometimes they do, and I've got much better at roll-dodging because of trying out new weapons on those albinaurics! And when you do die there, it's no big deal at all, because it's super-easy to just grab your runes back. Even if they're way down the slope, just run down on Torrent, grab, and retreat.
After shooting many arrows at the bird, I agree that where you stand and taking a step back is necessary so it runs off the cliff.
Yeah I noticed that was important, and your runes per minute go down significantly if you don't consistently get it to fall, rune farming is all about efficiency!
From my experience, you don't need to step back. Just need to stand at the right spot. You don't even need to hit it sometimes, just get it to aggro in your general direction while you stand in place. I've got it to a point where I know how far to shoot depending on how far he is in his walk path and consistently get it to fall every spawn now.

Shoot rock sling rather than arrows. You're just losing runes using arrows which you have to buy with runes, right? Rock sling is free!

I love just farming runes, even if am not doing an actual farm I love just going to areas with high rune enemies and just killing stuff with some music on. Great game to just chill and zone out to.
A more effective way to farm greyol is to use the dragon spell that does crimson rot on the smaller dragons from horse back. It takes 2 blasts per small dragon to get the crimson rot onto them but it will always kill them once it activates. The awesome part is that when they die it takes a chunk of greyol's health. So if you ride around and rot a bunch of small dragons (I think 5 or 6) and then ride back to the grace once they die the moment greyol starts to move you can sit down at the grace and get his runes but he will still respawn. If I remember right the small dragons give around 5k with a gold foot activated. This adds another 25-30k runes on top of the 78k!
Really? I need runes! I dont have the spells you mentioned tho. Your way sounds easier than killing dragon then run. Can i get that dragon spell early or is it well into the game?
@@roseorchid7981 yep it totally works, there's a learning curve to get the small dragons rotted without getting hit since they will most likely one hit you, also MAKE SURE you are ready to sit down at the grace once the main dragons health gets low because if you don't sit the moment he moves from his hp getting to zero he will not respawn. You can get the spell very early on, you will need one dragon heart from killing a dragon and go to the cathedral of dragon communion located in the south of caelid and purchase rotten breath. I don't remember the easiest way to get a dragon heart. Make sure to check out the stats needed for the incantation. Also once you get the route down you can use a golden pickled fowl foot to increase rune gains. You can buy the recipe to craft it from patches. Also there is a talisman that increases rune gains that's possible to get early on but it's not the easiest for newer players. My advice is to go eldenring.wiki.fextralife com all the stuff I mentioned you can look up there to get detailed information on where to obtain the items and materials needed. Good luck!
@@roseorchid7981you need to kill a dragon, but any dragon heart is enough to get the rotten breath spell. There's a stronger one too, but you need to beat the rot dragon first
You can still farm the late game rune farm with radahns greatsword ash of war Instead of having to get the sacred relic sword after beating the elden beast

...or you can just do it with cannon of haima, and less effective, but Waterfowl Dance is good, too.
Or there is an incantation idk what is it's name, which does a smaller version of Sacred Relic Sword's skill.

In case anyone is wondering, yes the dragon glitch still works since the most recent update. The window of time before permanent despawn is pretty forgiving imo, but still do as suggested in the video and make sure you are mounted on Torrent for the last portion of health otherwise you probably won't have enough time to make it. Not sure how long the window is, but from my experience, if you lose even 1 second going from the closest hitbox of the dragon to the grace, you’re done. I was only at my 2nd run, but after jumping off torrent my character staggered a bit and couldn’t rest for a moment
I still havent repawned dragon. Window is way too small. Tried several times. Whats a good indication to take off for grace?
@@cortesyes Oof tough luck, mate, I'm sorry that happened to you. I personally farmed that damn dragon 20+ times before finally calling it quits, far too much time was spent. 😅 I think I let the dragon die once I was done as well, felt really cheap and usually I don't use exploits to get ahead in games but this was on my 2nd build so I felt justified lol.

One thing to note about the bird farm - if you don't feel like aiming a bow... Rock sling sorcery can reach the bird - you just cast it twice immediately one after the other - first cast will likely miss by hitting the tree but prompt the bird to move in closer, and second cast will hit and aggro it.
This sounds more time consuming than a bow (not great if using the golden fowl)
@@jasanpahaf it is, a bit. BUT, you eliminate the chance of missing due to bad aim for example.
And any need to restock. It is a lazy method, if you don't care much for optimising.

Thanks for this. I'm always a bit suspicious of the "jump off the map" farms. It's interesting to know where it works and even more interesting to know WHY it works. (Basically when you get far enough away, the game unloads the floor, and all the creatures then fall to their deaths. You would die too because you'd trigger a failsafe that kills you if you're stuck in a falling animation, but your weapon swings keep resetting the timer.) But the main reason I don't want to try them (Besides what you point out, that they're actually not very efficient) is what the posters hardly ever point out: along with all the enemies in the area, you will also kill any and all NPCs in the area, cutting off any associated questlines you might have been able to otherwise pursue. I don't ever know how large an area is affected by those things and I'm not yet familiar enough with the game to know which NPCs are where all the time. So it's just not worth the risk.
I tried but failed to get Greyoll to respawn. Just wasn't fast enough. It's not easy, especially when you don't have experience recognizing the death twitch, no matter how many times you've watched it in other people's videos. And I didn't bother to make a physical backup of my whole game so I could turn back time and try again. (Wasn't worth it.)
I'm loving Lenne's Rise. So far I prefer to do it with the Golden scarab but without the golden fowl feet, because it feels faster to me to fast travel back to the SOG, and because I enjoy picking up all the fireflies along the way (and the little deer when I can, too), which I wouldn't do if I was using the fowl foot. I always wind up with a few hundred of them, and I use some for arrows and sell the rest for more runes. One of these days I'll do an actual study and compare the runes per minute doing it the way I have been, including the extra runes from the fireflies, to the runes per minute using the fowl foot and not grabbing the extras. (I'd have to also factor in some time spent farming the materials for the gold fowl feet.) It's probably a bit higher with the fowl foot, but my suspicion is that it's not so much higher that it would overwhelmingly make me want to do it the other way, when I find this way more fun. I'll be curious to see, though.
Morgs area is extremely safe region to do it in. And one of the best farms early game if you don't want to kill anything.
Doing jump scam in The Mohgwyn Palace (by far the best way to farm runes) doesn't kill Mohg or merchant - the only two NPCs/bosses there (white mask requires going in his world). So you can safely do it, it's very easy, available early in game and gives tons of runes
The one side effect from doing the falling map despawn in Moghwyn Palace is that it kills the Blood Tax scarab. So if you really want that AoW (especially early on) but don't want to brave all the high level enemies, this is an easy option.
@@BigChiken44 As someone else pointed out, that one kills the Blood Tax scarab. So if you didn't already have Blood Tax, you'd miss that. I would be sad for that, for sure. I hadn't even considered scarabs!

Also, there is a "jump scam" in the Mohgwyn palace area which DOES kill Mohg (and I assume, WOULD also kill the merchant, as the merchant is very close to Mogh -- that is the ONE merchant I actually killed myself, so he was already dead when I did that jump). In fact, killing Mogh was the whole point of the one I did. I'm not familiar with the one you're talking about which wouldn't kill Mohg. I'm pretty sure it's a different one. But it makes your comment misleading, if someone doesn't realize there are (at least) 2 different jump scam points in that region.

Not the greatest rune farm by a long shot, but for early game I prefer the trolls on Storm Hill and what I call the 'Ageel Lake North Run'. Storm Hill has 5 giants that are relatively easy to space out and kill and nets 5k runes per run of about five minutes. The Ageel Lake North Run is just beating the run between the Ageel Lake North site of grace and going until you defeat everything on the road towards the Sorcereress Selen's location. If you beat the followes, there are 2 trolls that are stationary after you attack them. They don't really attack back except for stomping occasionally and are pretty easy to kill. I like these two runs because they feel more honest and I still get to hone my skills. 😅

Not to mention if you're quick you can both the bird method and the rays of gold method by only adding a few extra seconds, not sure if its worth but I find it's still nice to do to mix it up after a while.

I don't think it's worth it for the extra time it adds, but it depends on your skill level.
I did a quick test and for me, on NG+ with golden scarab (no feet):
I get about 70K Runes each cycle hitting the Albinaurics and each cycle takes about 15 seconds. That gives me 4667 runes per second or 280K runes per minute.
The bird gives 26491 runes.
If I were to add the bird in, I would have to complete it in under 6 seconds to break even. Which i think is doable - but that's just to break even.
If i were to do the bird in 4 seconds. I would in crease the runes by ab out 9%. 5 seconds would increase the runes by 3%.
I think if you could consistently hit the bird in 4 seconds or less, it might be worth it. I don't think i could - and even if i could it's too much work for that amount of runes.

the way the falling-off-the-map farms works, is there's a fall timer that activates once the player starts falling. after falling for 10 seconds, the game automatically kills you (regardless of whether there's no kill zones), but by swinging your weapon, you can reset this timer indefinitely. the second part is the way the souls games are optimised. there's a threshold in the load zones in which the geometry of the map unloads, but the enemies remain loaded. this causes *their* fall timers to start, which they die to.
you can see a similar loadzone exploit with the cummmfpk dungeon in bloodborne. in that instance, the hitboxes load in before the actual models do.

For the bird, i have had 100% consistency going a bit further along the cliff which does make it take a little longer but after shooting you just go back to the grace immediately and it falls every time
you can actually use the Hoarfrost Stomp on a pretty good leveled weapon if you don’t have the Radagon sword yet.

My go to on Greyoll is to grab the wild strikes ash and slap it on the flail (Dex) or morning star (str), it's awesome cause you just hold down the ash of war button and chill and it attacks a lot and uses less stamina

Great vid. One thing I would have added is to ALWAYS farm at night! You get the chance of getting glowing eyes which gives 5X the runes. You'll sometimes have multiple glowing eyes at Palace Approach Ledge-road.
So that was the rumor when game launched, but apparently it's been dubunked, glowing eyes can apparently happen at any time of day

Oh those spawn naturally? I assumed they were just monsters who killed players and got a small boost similar to Bloodborne when an enemy would "capture" your blood echoed

it took me a while to get there, but the bird farm is insane, you will get to lvl 80 in no time !
Btw a quick hint for the big white dragon in Caelid: If you are aware of he / she idk gettings killed, just get the last shots from the grace, like rock sling, frenzied burst, or any bow type weapon!!
I’m just worried how you’d manage that with the bleed like you’d eventually get under 10% health and have to move but the dragon still has like somewhere around 13k health at 10% which would be a nuts amount to try and snipe. Unless you get lucky and your last bleed gets her to 1k health or something
You are right on the bird, I figured out the hit box around the tree and could smoothly get him to drop while hitting the sog, the transition screen will pause a bit longer black if the runes dropped. Usually you can see the shimmer though. I got from level 60 to 150 in an evening just watching YT.

For the bird, it's more consistent to run to the nearest albinauric. You will never fail from there, and the best rune farm in the game combines this with the wave of gold.
I found that it is flawless to just take 1 or 2 steps back like in the video and the seconds you save really add up!
Also, be sure to set up the bird farm at night; occasionally, the bird will have glowing eyes, which will get you even more (3x?) runes when it spawns like that. Same for the Albinaurics.

If you suck at aiming or old like me, just get the meteorite staff and rock sling and use the intelligence boosting physik each time you kill the bird. The physik puts you over the 18 int requirement regardless of what your build has, and the rocks can hit that bird anywhere it walks to even without using an arrow talisman. Not as fast as arrows, but easy-peasy.
9:53 you have to attack so the game doesn't kill 6ou for falling for too long, it's From's anti-stuck mechanism

The fall glitch is really more useful for build start ups rather than actually farming.
Start new character -> gold talon - Dragon -> kill 1 shardbearer -> start varracs quest -> kill 1 scion or bumrush vyre's church -> morg palace -> use right wall one past first summoner -> climb up and find the hole -> fall down to ledge -> double jump with torrent and swing.
Bird can be faster but personally prefer the fall glitch.
Shit takes like 5 min just to get 100k ruins
@@SLIVER-MACE I dont remember the exactly numberut the mogh palace glitch gives an obscene smount of runes, its probsbly worth to do it like this, its probably not worth to reprat though, because after the first time you wont gain any runes from mogh.
The rune farm I usually do early game, can be done by any one at low level and investment, is at the Aeonia Swamo Shore site of Grace. Kill the scarab for poison mist to add to any weapon. Around that site are 2 sets of 3 Land Squirts which each drop a little less than 600 runes each and only take one cast of the AOW before they explode from poison overdose and they can be walked away from after casting.
Nice! how many runes per minute would you estimate you are earning on that rune farm? would it be more efficient than the ball or the dragon there in caelid?
@@TitusActualGaming I ran a quick test, Killing just the three right next to site of grace and running back to reset was averaging 2980k runes per minute.
@@JasonVegatheking I love it. That’s a decent early game rune farm. I like the ball for the 7k runes per minute for a lot of new players because it doesn’t require a weapon or any fighting. But that’s a solid early farm!

This is awesome info! I do wanna say that I use the liturgical town farm with the horse not because it is optimal but because it’s easy, I’m too lazy to aim a bow lol.
For the boulder farm, as long as you're looking at were the boulder fell of the cliff, you can fast travel to the bonfire before it even appears to add to the runes to your total, just run down the path, turn right when the boulder spawns, look at were it falls off, and then just immediately fast travel to the bonfire, I don't know the exact numbers but it is certainly faster.
Edit: I'm not sure if it's faster with the rune boost or not
It’s not faster as it reset your rune boast and anyone playing on old gen had to wait like 30 seconds per loading screen
