You are very knowledgeable about the disorder of OCD. I don't know what state you're from but I would love to have a LSW like you who had the problem yourself. You know how devastating the problem can get so you seem to be an empathetic man who is also a professional. You also explain everything so well and give examples. I can't find anyone to help me in South Jersey. Thank you a million times over for coming online with your wonderful channel.
Ocd recovery is very tough just consider it is a river of fire and we have to sink to go through it...I am on first week of erp and act...after how many days I will start to feel better???
Good job! It’s very different and usually it gets better for a while and then you dip (atleast for me) but I went for example a whole summer without any OCD but then relapsed in the fall, so it’s not all bad💗 but I haven’t had it in a year now and I can tell you it really gets better! And it is so worth it! Keep fighting you got this!😚
It is. And I don’t know if you are a Christian but has a Christian I am fighting this evil illness too. Don’t give up. God will help us. This too shall pass. This fallen world is just aweful.
@@ksmith8900 Hi, Gods grace has been helping me to improve. Its not been easy nevertheless, there were many days I felt I would give up. It affected my faith severely, But God! I'm improving. Thanks for asking dear. I pray if you are also troubled with this wicked illness, that you will be healed soon. God knows what we go through daily and he is there to comfort and heal. Peace to you
Mine was induced by excessive drug use at a party. I was on MDMA, and a cocktail of loads of other drugs and I was fine one minute, and then the next the thought "I'm gay" randomly intruded into my mind after I looked around the room at my friends. I wasn't doing anything gay, nothing gay was happening. It just occurred out of the blue, and I started having a major panic attack there and then, quickly excused myself and then basically started ruminating and panicking alone in a room for a few hours after trying to calm myself down and fight these thoughts and images. I haven't been the same since, and have been dealing with what I hope is HOCD for 3 years now. It's kind of messed my life up. I avoid nearly everything, and everyone due to this, and when i think about my future with women and in general, it seems bleak and hopeless most of the time, especially when I get feelings of false attraction or a lack of attraction which just compounds my fears even more. Though, sometimes I do have moments of clarity and peace, and can see more clearly but they're often few and far between. Even talking about how this OCD developed is giving me anxiety right now because I'm worrying that the MDMA somehow brought the "truth" out of me, and that I just can't accept it, even though I've 100% only been interested in, and pursued sexual and romantic relationships with women for basically my entire life. On the plus side though, I did stop doing the drugs 🖒

@Plutocrazy I respect Freud, but I don't know if I agree with everything he said. So, if I'm disgusted by the idea of eating oysters (which I am), does that also mean deep down I'm repressing a desire for them? No. I understand there's no stigma of shame or anything attached to that, but it's essentially the same thing. If I desired something, I'd probably do that thing one way or another, even if it meant behind closed doors. Which is essentially what people who are in denial do. I have no desire to do anything like that.
I really feel safe and happy when I listen to your videos you always give me hope to keep going and you helped me a lot

@@mattcodde.restoredminds Hey, thanks for the response. I'm from the UK though, will that affect registration?
@Plutocrazy It isn't desire though, it's disgust and anxiety-inducing.

@Plutocrazy Regardless of all that, this is OCD we're talking about.
Whenever i have intrusive thought i tell myself it's just a thought
I doubt myself that
The phrase"it's just a thought" count as a mental compulsion?
