    Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) features a pattern of unwanted thoughts called obsessions, that produce anxiety, which lead you to perform repetitive behaviors called compulsions. These obsessions and compulsions tend to get worse over time and can interfere with daily activities and cause significant distress.
    In this video, I discussed how OCD develops specifically the four components that causes OCD to form. If you have friends and family members who are suffering from OCD, feel free to share this information with them to help spread awareness and education.

      Im going through the same thing. I always was a little anxious but never to the point of obsession or maybe i just never noticed it. It started getting worse when i got into a relationship. Never had I payed attention to my obsession that much. I thought it was only relationship ocd at first but now its literally about everything in my life.

      I go through the same thought cycle from my triggers in ocd I feel like it’s like a script. Says the same thing over and over from triggers.

    Thanks so much, this makes sense. I remember starting as having one form of ocd as a young kiddo (7ish?) then developing another (additional) form as I got older. Thank you for your videos they are very helpful 🙂

    I'm starting to question whether I'm developing OCD at first it started with wanting my place nice and clean like have everything extremely tidy but now I'm wiping down every surface with disinfectant wipes, and having every item in a certain place and placing them down in very specific positions. I'm not sure if this is OCD being developed or not but I feel I can't rest until I know everything is placed back where I found it or wiped down common surfaces I or someone else touches or a daily basis.

    I've been biting my nails for the last 20 years & want and need to stop, and am curious if it's sub linked to ocd?
    I have been living a high stress/anxiety life. And currently not living in my own household (living with FIL)

      Yep, genes are involved. I've read 40% more likely for another family member to have it too.
      I'm 66, had OCD from age 8. My daughter also has OCD, but she has a different form, pure O.

    So what you are saying is that I need to stop the OCD loops by not entertaining the thoughts and to not do the rituals?

    • @lov305mia
      @lov305mia Год назад

      Yes sit with the urge to do the compulsions ..I had to sit with anxiety and intense urges to do a compulsion for almost a week ..once you can do this to a strong urge/compulsion you can start to see OCD For what it is , from a different perspective and start to heal

    What would one do to break the ocd loop if the some of the thoughts feel like quite reasonable and not always like false appraisal but still exhausted from the compulsion they create ???
