When I was 16 years old in 1976 I was thinking of breaking up with this girl as I felt I was falling in love with her and thought I was to young. Listening to this I changed my mind In 1977 we got married we are now 65 years old and while she suffered a major stroke and I now care for her 24/7 I love her just the same as I always have and always will. ❤
Although the song is called "I'm Not In Love", it remains for me one of the greatest love songs ever written! The man in the song is in complete denial; he is obviously very much in love. As a young boy, back in the 70s, hearing this song for the first time on the radio, I was absolutely blown away by it! I had never heard anything like it before, with the sustained backing vocals that seem to go on forever. 10CC were a great team of songwriters. "The Wall Street Shuffle", "Art For Art's Sake" and "Dreadlock Holiday" are some of my favourite songs by the band.
I heard it in 1975......the song was over the air in the summer of '75 . I can never forget it. You are hearing it from many, many years later but in 1975 it was fresh and AMAZING

This song came out the same time as “Bohemian Rhapsody”. I can remember as a young teen not being able to wait for the next time either of those songs would play on the radio. You really need to watch some of the documentaries about the recording of this track. The production on this was WAY ahead of its time. Decades before sampling was a thing, they were manipulating voices like instruments to create one of the most lush soundscapes ever created. An absolutely timeless track.
hello NicknLex, great great song, there's a great story behind this song, 16 track recorder, 3 guys singing ahhh for 3 weeks, the producer sent the guys home to do lung expanding exercises, to have the guys sing ahhh in the microphone for as long as they could hold the note, also recorded at different speeds to get certain sounds with the backing vocals, somewhere between 300 and 400 overdubs, I watched the documentary, incredible story of how this song was written and recorded

All their stuff was recorded at their own Strawberry Studios, Stockport, near Manchester in North -West England. Their production values were second-to-none.
Thanks for highlighting this song by 10 CC. I was 21 when this song was released and I was hooked by the sound of this track immediately. When the internet came along we all learned how they spent three weeks recording three of the guys singing twelve notes as long as they could and using these recordings to make tape loops that they ran through a multitracking machine many times over to get the sounds they were looking for. they were way ahead of their time in achieving this back in the mid 70s. They were kind of ahead of their time on the very next track on The Original Soundtrack album called "Blackmail" about how something that at one time had been considered scandalous, could instead propel one to fame and fortune. It's a good one to take a listen to if you're looking for an up tempo, rocker sound by these guys.
One of 10CC's primary songwriters, is bassist, guitarist, and vocalist Graham Gouldman. He's in the America's National Academy of Music, songwriter's Hall of Fame. Some of his classics written for other bands include, Heart Full of Soul, and For Your Love by The Yardbirds, Look Through any Window, and Bus Stop by The Hollies, and Listen People by Herman's Hermits. 10cc are really worth looking into. Their first 4 albums are the best (when Kevin Godley and Lol Creme were in the band). Smart, melodious, harmonic and super intelligent catchy pop music of the 70s. From "Rubber Bullets" to "The Worst Band In The World" to "Iceberg" and "Art For Arts Sake" & everything in between. So good!
I would add Deceptive Bends to that even though Kevin and Lol had left the band . It certainly deserves to be considered alongside the other 4 ( esp the brilliant Feel The Benefit) The name 10cc is based on the fact that 10cc’s is the average amount of sperm a man ejaculates 😂😂😂
A haunting loop of melody by the group. They made that melody and recorded it and just ran it through the whole song. A brilliant piece of work by 10CC. Another quintessential mid 70's groove. And once again oh the memories!

"At that time my wife and I had been married about eight years," Eric Stewart recalls, "and she asked me 'Why don't you say "I love you" more often?' I had this crazy idea in my mind that repeating those words would somehow degrade the meaning, so I told her 'Well, if I say every day "I love you, darling, I love you, blah, blah, blah," it's not gonna mean anything eventually.' That statement led me to try to figure out another way of saying it, and the result was that I chose to say 'I'm not in love with you,' while subtly giving all the reasons throughout the song why I could never let go of this relationship. Eric and his wife Gloria are still married after more than 50 years( but I don't think it'll last.) "It's just a silly phase he's going through.")

The intro to this phenomenal song always makes me think of "She's Gone" by Hall & Oates at first. So much invention and innovation in the 70's carrying on from the mid-60's.

"Un Nuit A Paris" is an interesting track from The Original Soundtrack - it's like a mini opera, done at least a year before Queeen's "Bohemian Rhapsody".
Song was way ahead of its time , and sad most people have never heard of it . There is actually a Live version on RUclips . There is nothing like this , and its such a shame it never gets discussed , or reviewed for its originality , and just being a hidden classic gem .

The keyboard you're hearing throughout the song is a Fender Rhodes, whereas Supertramp typically used a Wurlitzer. You can even look up some videos on RUclips that show the difference.
Half of this band went on to become music video producers. They, guessing, did more than half of the 80’s music videos. They were huge! Thee whole band were inventors, look’m up!
The thing about the song is the vocal backing track, which was made through the magic of multitracking, with sort of a human mixing-desk mellotron, or maybe a sampling synthesizer controlled in real time by human VCAs. That's a lot from a band that had only two hits stateside. The Things We Do for Love is really the only other song they should listen to (they did Dreadlock a year ago). They have too many thousands of better songs from other artists to listen to first.

10CC One of the most technical and musically gifted bands. Next time listen to I'm Mandy Fly Me. I am a 68 year old Yorkshire man and this song still brings tears to my eyes.
Half of 10cc, Kevin Godley and Lol Creame, are definitely art rock guys. Godley and Creame released the song "Cry" in 1985, which was a groundbreaking video. Elbow was inspired by it with their 2017 hit "Gentle Storm," which melodically resembles "Cry" but the video, directed by Godley, takes the breakthrough to another level. Godley has produced videos for The Police, Duran Duran, Ultravox, etc.
The original version of this song was done as a Bosa Nova style recording. Several members of the band said... "This is crap" and they totally deleted that version. A while later they went back to it and someone suggested the vocals "Big Boys Don''t Cry". They asked themselves... "But who can we use as the female voice" ? Just then the secretary came into the room and said something. They looked at each other and said... "She's the voice". Strange.... but true. Take care....
So grateful to have experienced this fabulous band when they were in their prime - and, the treasured memories this track brings to mind are priceless!
This was originally written as a Bossa Nova/Samba tune. The band was not going to record it. They began hearing everyone working in the studio singing it. The folks in the studio finally convinced the band to record a slightly altered version of the tune. The song was inspired by one of the members of the band's wife asking him why they weren't saying "I love you" as much.as they used to. The woman saying"Big boys don't cry" was the receptionist at the studio. What a great song! Oh yeah, the background harmonies were each member of the band singing a single note with it being blended and mixed. Try "Deadlock Holiday to hear them having fum.
Again, one of my favorite songs ever. I remember so vividly listening to it at the public pool. They always had great music pumping through the overhead speakers there. I have such wonderful memories of my teenage years, specially the music of my generation, one of which was this song
To quote you "Every time I think of you (I always catch my breath)" is a part line from a beautiful song which promises love but delivers heartache. People love songs because of emotion, so paying too much attentyion to the words as words can waste some great shared songs. "I'm Not In Love" is a faux denial. Nice review.
Please bear in mind guys, this was recorded before Fairlight type voice synths. All the vocal tracks were built up, an up many many times. Way ahead of their time 10cc. Try Good Morning Judge 😊
Good Morning Judge os a huge come down from this. Better to listen to the rest of The Original Soundtrack or the entirety of Sheet Music before trying the AOR years of late term 10cc.

saw them in the early 80's in London. Excellent concert. Thought i didn't know much about their stuff until i realised that every song they played had been a radio hit. Strangely somewhat underrated band these days
This was not a Mellotron keyboard. This was ground breaking sound design for 1975. They created sort of a what might be a "synth voice pad" today but this was actually layers and layers of multitracking vocals with heavy delay added. I think they only had 16 tracks so they had to bound down several times until it begin to distort... which you can hear. Adds a touch of warmth. Completely unique for the time period.
Thank you for this fine selection, and YES, DO MORE 10CC!!! First, the single version of this that most know is a criminal hatchet job and it's so great to hear it as intended. Second, they are yet another rabbit hole well worth exploring (everything you love about Supertramp you will find here, and more). This entire album, The Original Soundtrack, is a masterpiece, with the mini-operetta entitled "Une Nuit a Paris (One Night in Paris)", a spectacular piece of creative production. If you listen to it, INIL is basically a bossa nova. This was a masterpiece of multitracking rivalled only by Bohemian Rhapsody, which was also recorded in 1975. The ahhhh sounds were all recorded by the band one pitch at a time till they had a whole scale. Then, all the band members played the mixing desk, moving the faders up and down as needed to get the sound they wanted. Insanely creative track! And about the lyrics, yes, the guy is deeply in love but in deep denial. So the girl who broke up with her boyfriend didn't listen to the lyrics very closely, or if she did, she didn't understand them. My other favourite by this band is Dreadlock Holiday. Genius!
An absolute masterpiece of a song. As stated by others, the documentary on the song's inception and recording is a must-see, it's mind-blowing how much work went in to it. For an album listen it HAS to be Sheet Music, your love of Prog leads me to pointing in that direction because it's a collection of astounding sounds, amazing music (little Hawkwind plug there!). As an example, there's a track called Clockwork Creep that beggars belief - it's a bomb talking to a plane, then it's the plane's turn and finally it's the crew and passengers view. Brilliantly bonkers.
My first favourite band. I grew up just around the corner from (singer) Eric Stewart's family and used to see the band members there all the time. Great people, fabulous band, I love them with all my heart...Yet another genius band we Mancunians are proud of.
10CC and Foreigner are two groups I love to listen to at night. With the speakers up loud. I think it’s because I just love being surrounded by their tonal aesthetic.
The vocal tracks were overdubbed so many times to get that surreal sound Stewart spent three weeks recording Gouldman, Godley and Creme singing "ahhh" 16 times for each note of the chromatic scale, building up a "choir" of 48 voices for each note of the scale.
the lead singer said in an interview about this song, at the time when he wrote the song, he said there are so many love songs out there, why not write an anti-love song and see how people react to it, and it became a major number one hit for a long time.
As others have posted, you have to watch the documentary on the making of this song. It’s pretty incredible. I was twelve when this song came out. I loved it then and, it’s still one of my favorites, 49 years later.

10cc -- quirky, intelligent, funny. When you don't listen to lyrics, you can miss things like - 'I keep your picture, on the wall. It hides a nasty stain that's lying there.". Poor boy does NOT want to be in love, but there it is... head over heels. And you did not mention the highlight of the song -- that haunting vocal chorus in the background. This was not a synth, but painstakingly put together - I have never heard anything like it! For the future -- 'One Night in Paris' a nine minute masterpiece. It's like a year in any other place.

I’ve known a lot of people that have been confused about this song because the boys in love he just doesn’t know it or he’s very dishonest with himself. A lot of memories for me as I had a particular girlfriend that this song had meaning with. It’s a wonderful soundscape that’s very compelling.
The technology to make this song was very differnet in the 70's, we didn't have computers back then. This was a multiple multitrack recordings layered on top of one another and recorded. A Recording Master Piece!! There's a video on RUclips from 10cc explaining how they recorded this song. Worth Watching!!
I recall buying this album as soon as it came out, from my paper round money. I still have it, along with every other 10CC album. Bad tracks are a rarity for 10CC, despite each being wildly different from each other. When I finally shuffle off this mortal coil, this band will be in my heart as I pass. There were some truly great groups in the 70's, but 10CC was my 1st love....and my last.
My favorite 10CC songs are "Wall Street Shuffle", "Rubber Bullets", and "I bought A Flat". These songs all reflect the humorous side of 10CC. Musically correct, great songs but, funny too. I am reminded a little of REO Speedwagon, another great band. The early years of REO had some great rock, not humous just great rock. Then much later they discovered the "Power Ballad" becoming hugely popular which "Im not in love" definitely was also. REO later came out with "Keep On Loving You", Can't Fight the Feeling", "Time For Me To Fly", "Roll With The Changes", etc. Earlier rock classics by REO included, "Music Man", "Golden Country", "Ridin' The Storm Out", "Like You Do" etc."
One of the great pop-rock UK bands of the 70's! Eric Stewart, Graham Gouldman, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme built their own studio in Manchester (Strawberry Studios) and recorded four brilliant albums from 1973 - 1975. Their music was very diverse from dreamy pop to rock & roll, 50's pastiches particularly on the self titled debut album and artsy, clever lyrics. All of them were multi instrumentalists, singers and songwriters which created the diversity in music, but also caused Godley and Creme to leave in '76 to record as a duo and also move into music video direction. Stewart and Gouldman kept the 10cc name and made two more fine albums which included probably their next biggest single 'Dreadlock Holiday'. They are a perfect choice for a marathon (whenever it's right to go back to them) as there's so much different stuff to choose from. There's also a great pick for an epic with Nick, the opening track from this album (their third) called 'Une Nuit a Paris', a 3 part nine minute story of a brothel in Paris. Absolutely superb!

Godley & Creme were two of the main guys in this band. They went on to form a duo and had a big hit with "Cry" (a must listen, similar musical techniques). They had a falling out after 27 years together and barely speak.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve really tried to give as much attention to lyrics and many times it has deepened some of my favorite music’s meaning or even enhanced it for me. Just different takes on how each person receives and interprets art. Many people love paintings but don’t really analyze them the same way as someone who analyzes the artist’s techniques per se, but it’s just as valid
It's such a great track one of the biggest hits of the 70s and ahead of its time. I remember it was always played at the end of the night at the disco's when you were able to slow dance with your girlfriend or a girl who you liked. I wonder how many babies have been conceived to this track over the years.

Totally agree. I second that emotion. I loved them early on, when “Rubber Bullets” was a minor FM hit. And followed them ever after.
A haunting loop of melody by the group. They made that melody and recorded it and just ran it through the whole song. A brilliant piece of work by 10CC. Another quintessential mid 70's groove. And once again oh the memories!
Eric Stewart, the writer and singer of this song explained this about the song.................
"At that time my wife and I had been married about eight years," Eric Stewart recalls, "and she asked me 'Why don't you say "I love you" more often?' I had this crazy idea in my mind that repeating those words would somehow degrade the meaning, so I told her 'Well, if I say every day "I love you, darling, I love you, blah, blah, blah," it's not gonna mean anything eventually.' That statement led me to try to figure out another way of saying it, and the result was that I chose to say 'I'm not in love with you,' while subtly giving all the reasons throughout the song why I could never let go of this relationship.

The intro to this phenomenal song always makes me think of "She's Gone" by Hall & Oates at first. So much invention and innovation in the 70's carrying on from the mid-60's.

"Un Nuit A Paris" is an interesting track from The Original Soundtrack - it's like a mini opera, done at least a year before Queeen's "Bohemian Rhapsody".
Song was way ahead of its time , and sad most people have never heard of it . There is actually a Live version on RUclips . There is nothing like this , and its such a shame it never gets discussed , or reviewed for its originality , and just being a hidden classic gem .

10cc are a fantastic band from Stockport, Manchester UK. Very innovative and creative, had many hits. Among my favourites are 'Life is a minastrone', 'Art for arts sake', 'Wall street shuffle' and 'I'm Mandy fly me'. Cheers
They were actually from north Manchester/Salford ( one from east M/cr) , just the recording studio was in Stockport.
Also, those choruses in the song, the guys recorded every note sung and then created all those harmonies we heard.... it was a very difficult piece of art to make, but it was totally worth it!!!
A band ahead of their time, Their experimental studio work is superb.
The keyboard you're hearing throughout the song is a Fender Rhodes, whereas Supertramp typically used a Wurlitzer. You can even look up some videos on RUclips that show the difference.
Half of this band went on to become music video producers. They, guessing, did more than half of the 80’s music videos. They were huge! Thee whole band were inventors, look’m up!
The thing about the song is the vocal backing track, which was made through the magic of multitracking, with sort of a human mixing-desk mellotron, or maybe a sampling synthesizer controlled in real time by human VCAs. I thought this might be of interest. There are are videos on RUclips with 10cc about making the record.

Music is my breakfast and dinner since the seventies. I remember this song and so many more from that era as if it was yesterday with great joy.
As an old guy in Junior HS during the British Invasion .. I listened to music in the songs including the words as part of the music .. only now listening to reactors do I get a real feel for the words
IMO, 10cc tracks that are worth a listen are : Wall Street Shuffle, The Things We Do For Love, Art For Art's Sake, I'm Mandy Fly Me, Feel The Benefit, Life is A Minestrone, For You and I, Old Mister Time, Dreadlock Holiday, Lazy Ways, Survivor.
That's a lot from a band that had only two hits stateside. The Things We Do for Love is really the only other song they should listen to (they did Dreadlock a year ago). They have too many thousands of better songs from other artists to listen to first.

Half of 10cc, Kevin Godley and Lol Creame, are definitely art rock guys. Godley and Creame released the song "Cry" in 1985, which was a groundbreaking video. Elbow was inspired by it with their 2017 hit "Gentle Storm," which melodically resembles "Cry" but the video, directed by Godley, takes the breakthrough to another level. Godley has produced videos for The Police, Duran Duran, Ultravox, etc.

The original version of this song was done as a Bosa Nova style recording. Several members of the band said... "This is crap" and they totally deleted that version. A while later they went back to it and someone suggested the vocals "Big Boys Don''t Cry". They asked themselves... "But who can we use as the female voice" ? Just then the secretary came into the room and said something. They looked at each other and said... "She's the voice". Strange.... but true. Take care....
So grateful to have experienced this fabulous band when they were in their prime - and, the treasured memories this track brings to mind are priceless!
This was originally written as a Bossa Nova/Samba tune. The band was not going to record it. They began hearing everyone working in the studio singing it. The folks in the studio finally convinced the band to record a slightly altered version of the tune. The song was inspired by one of the members of the band's wife asking him why they weren't saying "I love you" as much.as they used to. The woman saying"Big boys don't cry" was the receptionist at the studio. What a great song! Oh yeah, the background harmonies were each member of the band singing a single note with it being blended and mixed. Try "Deadlock Holiday to hear them having fum.
Again, one of my favorite songs ever. I remember so vividly listening to it at the public pool. They always had great music pumping through the overhead speakers there. I have such wonderful memories of my teenage years, specially the music of my generation, one of which was this song
To quote you "Every time I think of you (I always catch my breath)" is a part line from a beautiful song which promises love but delivers heartache. People love songs because of emotion, so paying too much attentyion to the words as words can waste some great shared songs. "I'm Not In Love" is a faux denial. Nice review.
Please bear in mind guys, this was recorded before Fairlight type voice synths. All the vocal tracks were built up, an up many many times. Way ahead of their time 10cc. Try Good Morning Judge 😊
Good Morning Judge os a huge come down from this. Better to listen to the rest of The Original Soundtrack or the entirety of Sheet Music before trying the AOR years of late term 10cc.

saw them in the early 80's in London. Excellent concert. Thought i didn't know much about their stuff until i realised that every song they played had been a radio hit. Strangely somewhat underrated band these days
This was not a Mellotron keyboard. This was ground breaking sound design for 1975. They created sort of a what might be a "synth voice pad" today but this was actually layers and layers of multitracking vocals with heavy delay added. I think they only had 16 tracks so they had to bound down several times until it begin to distort... which you can hear. Adds a touch of warmth. Completely unique for the time period.
Thank you for this fine selection, and YES, DO MORE 10CC!!! First, the single version of this that most know is a criminal hatchet job and it's so great to hear it as intended. Second, they are yet another rabbit hole well worth exploring (everything you love about Supertramp you will find here, and more). This entire album, The Original Soundtrack, is a masterpiece, with the mini-operetta entitled "Une Nuit a Paris (One Night in Paris)", a spectacular piece of creative production. If you listen to it, INIL is basically a bossa nova. This was a masterpiece of multitracking rivalled only by Bohemian Rhapsody, which was also recorded in 1975. The ahhhh sounds were all recorded by the band one pitch at a time till they had a whole scale. Then, all the band members played the mixing desk, moving the faders up and down as needed to get the sound they wanted. Insanely creative track! And about the lyrics, yes, the guy is deeply in love but in deep denial. So the girl who broke up with her boyfriend didn't listen to the lyrics very closely, or if she did, she didn't understand them.
My other favourite by this band is Dreadlock Holiday. Genius!

An absolute masterpiece of a song. As stated by others, the documentary on the song's inception and recording is a must-see, it's mind-blowing how much work went in to it. For an album listen it HAS to be Sheet Music, your love of Prog leads me to pointing in that direction because it's a collection of astounding sounds, amazing music (little Hawkwind plug there!). As an example, there's a track called Clockwork Creep that beggars belief - it's a bomb talking to a plane, then it's the plane's turn and finally it's the crew and passengers view. Brilliantly bonkers.
Oooh - This song and ‘the things we do for love’ by them are a huge part of my grade school years. 😊

My first favourite band. I grew up just around the corner from (singer) Eric Stewart's family and used to see the band members there all the time.
Great people, fabulous band, I love them with all my heart...Yet another genius band we Mancunians are proud of.
10CC and Foreigner are two groups I love to listen to at night. With the speakers up loud. I think it’s because I just love being surrounded by their tonal aesthetic.
You two look like you could fit right in the 70's era.
The vocal tracks were overdubbed so many times to get that surreal sound Stewart spent three weeks recording Gouldman, Godley and Creme singing "ahhh" 16 times for each note of the chromatic scale, building up a "choir" of 48 voices for each note of the scale.
That classic 70s Rhodes: 10cc, Supertramp, and the acid jazz of Steely Dan.
the lead singer said in an interview about this song, at the time when he wrote the song, he said there are so many love songs out there, why not write an anti-love song and see how people react to it, and it became a major number one hit for a long time.

10cc -- quirky, intelligent, funny. When you don't listen to lyrics, you can miss things like - 'I keep your picture, on the wall. It hides a nasty stain that's lying there.". Poor boy does NOT want to be in love, but there it is... head over heels. And you did not mention the highlight of the song -- that haunting vocal chorus in the background. This was not a synth, but painstakingly put together - I have never heard anything like it!
For the future -- 'One Night in Paris' a nine minute masterpiece. It's like a year in any other place.

Great song with a lot of memories really love 10 cc. Glad that you got the reaction in full back up. It’s too bad you lost the original. I’ve known a lot of people that have been confused about this song because the boys in love he just doesn’t know it or he’s very dishonest with himself. A lot of memories for me as I had a particular girlfriend that this song had meaning with. It’s a wonderful soundscape that’s very compelling.
The technology to make this song was very differnet in the 70's, we didn't have computers back then. This was a multiple multitrack recordings layered on top of one another and recorded.

So you should really do the whole of this album it is an absolute 70s classic and not to be missed
I recall buying this album as soon as it came out, from my paper round money. I still have it, along with every other 10CC album. Bad tracks are a rarity for 10CC, despite each being wildly different from each other. When I finally shuffle off this mortal coil, this band will be in my heart as I pass. There were some truly great groups in the 70's, but 10CC was my 1st love....and my last.
My favorite 10CC songs are "Wall Street Shuffle", "Rubber Bullets", and "I bought A Flat". These songs all reflect the humorous side of 10CC. Musically correct, great songs but, funny too. I am reminded a little of REO Speedwagon, another great band. The early years of REO had some great rock, not humous just great rock. Then much later they discovered the "Power Ballad" becoming hugely popular which "Im not in love" definitely was also. REO later came out with "Keep On Loving You", Can't Fight the Feeling", "Time For Me To Fly", "Roll With The Changes", etc. Earlier rock classics by REO included, "Music Man", "Golden Country", "Ridin' The Storm Out", "Like You Do" etc."
This song and the Eagles One of these nights were my favorites as a 19 year old in the summer of ‘75. A good summer.
One of the great pop-rock UK bands of the 70's! Eric Stewart, Graham Gouldman, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme built their own studio in Manchester (Strawberry Studios) and recorded four brilliant albums from 1973 - 1975. Their music was very diverse from dreamy pop to rock & roll, 50's pastiches particularly on the self titled debut album and artsy, clever lyrics. All of them were multi instrumentalists, singers and songwriters which created the diversity in music, but also caused Godley and Creme to leave in '76 to record as a duo and also move into music video direction. Stewart and Gouldman kept the 10cc name and made two more fine albums which included probably their next biggest single 'Dreadlock Holiday'. They are a perfect choice for a marathon (whenever it's right to go back to them) as there's so much different stuff to choose from. There's also a great pick for an epic with Nick, the opening track from this album (their third) called 'Une Nuit a Paris', a 3 part nine minute story of a brothel in Paris. Absolutely superb!

Godley & Creme were two of the main guys in this band. They went on to form a duo and had a big hit with "Cry" (a must listen, similar musical techniques). They had a falling out after 27 years together and barely speak.

Love the reaction and your channel Nick and Lex! Nick, when I was younger I used to be more like you and just focused more on the music, vocal melodies, and the lyrics were secondary. As I’ve gotten older I’ve really tried to give as much attention to lyrics and many times it has deepened some of my favorite music’s meaning or even enhanced it for me. Just different takes on how each person receives and interprets art. Many people love paintings but don’t really analyze them the same way as someone who analyzes the artist’s techniques per se, but it’s just as valid

It's such a great track one of the biggest hits of the 70s and ahead of its time. I remember it was always played at the end of the night at the disco's when you were able to slow dance with your girlfriend or a girl who you liked. I wonder how many babies have been conceived to this track over the years.
