The close up looks very much like a serigraph (screen print). Love all your videos. Does Photoshop or Photoshop Elements make me an artist?

Excellent tutorial, David! I've seen so many ways of making sketches in Elements, this one provides a very nice balance of line, shading and space. And the addition of color was brilliant. I'm wondering about your use of Styles (Painted Wallboard) rather than a texture from Filters like sandstone. Do they work differently? Also, at one point you apply the Cutout filter twice to a layer, does it modify the first time you applied it, or does it apply it a second time? Thanks again.

Thank you Harry Goldhagen, yes I did use Cutout twice as the second time it softens the sketch further - adds shading. As for Painted Wall board, I like to experiment with textures and not only did I like the texture but also the tone of the Paint wall board.... always worth experimenting :) Think I used the Cutout filter 3 times in all a very useful filter. Pleased you enjoyed the tutorial, Cheers David

How do you make the lines so its not so straight and more realistic? And is paying for effect a waste of money??? They have used the same photo you used as their example!

You can make the lines wave Sorrowful sheep by adding filters like Filter Distort > Ripples or some of the other distort filters to the line layer. Is paying for an effect worth it? It depends how often you are going to use it...most effects you use a handful of time then forget about them. Better to do it yourself or create your own Action. Who used the same image?
