    Thanks so much, George. I've played with PS for years, but I'm taking time to learn a little more and this is great stuff for this PS somewhat novice. Great job! I'll be looking into your course.

    George, love anything that has to do with sketch look, I know there are a lot of tools to use, thank you for putting together a road map on a method. I will really enjoy doing this one! Got some neat ideas to try!

      Thanks Rich, I am very happy with how this one turned out. It has a nice art look but is also very easy to do. Just the kind of result I like for my RUclips projects. I have lots of projects I have created that never get to see RUclips because they end up being just too complicated to easily re-create. This one turned out nice, easy, and effective.

    Brilliant stuff, George, showing how to use layers to good effect and showing what can be done with filters and blend modes. I think I may try this on one of my own photos. After all, I got plenty to chose from! Thanks again.

    • @HTGGeorge
      @HTGGeorge  5 лет назад

      Thanks Peter, the Poster Edges filter is the key but it really needs to be combined with something else for a good effect. It is kind of rough if left on its own. The inverted Glowing Edges does the trick but other filters that affect the edges could also work well.

      Thanks Bonnie! I was playing around with some ideas on how to create a nice cartoon effect in PSE and came up with this particular set of steps by accident. Thought it turned out well. Still haven't found the cartoon effect I am looking for. Its too bad about the Select and Mask in Adobe Photoshop, I am staying positive about that tool in my Photoshop videos but I am not really happy with how it currently works. The PSE Refine Edge gives much better results.

    It seems the quality of the output has a lot to do with the characteristics of the portrait picture that you input. Some inputs turn out okay, others not so much.

    • @HTGGeorge
      @HTGGeorge  Год назад

      That's the case with all the filters, some pictures will work better than others. I find that having a good contrast range in the original helps, also having good color variations helps a lot.

    So it makes me wonder is so called artist fake a colored pencil drawing, by using photo shop, and making it seem like they actually drew a realistic drawing m

    • @HTGGeorge
      @HTGGeorge  4 года назад

      Someone could try to say that this was a real drawing but if you look closely at the pencil strokes it is obviously a computer effect. Since I am an artist I could draw this with colored pencils but the look would be much better than this computer effect, it would just take longer. That's the main reason I do my artwork on computers now, it is just faster, not really as good, but faster.
