I know Im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly lost my account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Grey Roger thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
I've wanted a Wacom tablet for years, but no, I don't own one. Camera - Canon 5D - landscapes, nature, macro. I started trying to produce watercolor effects more than a dozen years ago attempting a Georgia O'Keefe type look on my flower macros, but this is the best tutorial I've ever seen. Thank you so much!
You make it look so simple and logical. Love your low-key style, it makes Ps seem less daunting. Using Olympus and Sony, but even a phone photo should be sharp enough for a watercolor treatment. Thanks for an excellent tutorial, and I'll be watching many more.
I have just found your wonderful tutorial. Having been doing everything in PS in a more "manual" way, this takes it to another level with my Wacom tablet. I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark IV and shoot primarily flower and landscape images. Your tutorials are so easy to follow and learn from. Thank you!
I've been wanting to try doing this fir awhile. Looks easy so I'm gonna give it a try. I have a couple od different Nikon bodies and currently using a Z6II.
Love this technique. . .I'm using Photoshop ELEMENTS (2021) and was able to do this with it. Even though I don't have Photoshop itself it's great that I can do something like this with Elements. . .Thanks for your guidance and clear explanations!
I really enjoyed the step by step easy process of this tutorial to create a watercolor painting of my photos. Rewatched several times then, took down steps and practiced I am in the process of upgrading my photoshop skills and thought what better way than through the tutorials of Photoshop Cafe. . I have a wacom tablet...kind of use it need more lessons. I shoot with a Sony A7. Love to capture people, places and things!
I've tried a few watercolor techniques and have been somewhat successful. I like taking landscape and wildlife photos and a variety of types of photos when travelling. I use a nikon d5300. 3 different lenses..18-55 kit lens; 55-300 and a 40mm(2.8) with micro capability. I've got a wacum tablet and sort of like it. Thanks for doing this tutorial. It's so straightforward .
SUPERB tutorial. You took you time, going step-by-step, which is important to me (speaking for myself). I like taking portraits of people, and I use my cellphone to take pictures (incidentally, the camera on the phone is superb. Of course, a _real_ camera would be preferable. But I am not a professional photographer). You now have a new subscriber.
amazing, best watercolour effect I've seen, I do street, portrait, landscape, macro mostly on a canon 80D, never used a Wacom. I'm actually trying to get Edward Hoppers painting effect for urban scapes, I can do it with mobile apps but want to get the same effect with photoshop
Thank you so much for a great tutorial!!!!! I don't have a Wacom but rather a laptop with touchscreen and a pen. I would highly recommend having that functionality either way. Thanks again from Canada!
I mostly take nature and landscape photos, and I use a Canon 50D. I seem to mostly photograph birds, and now can't wait to try this effect on one of my photos. And I do have a Wacom Intuos Pro Small tablet. Sorry I missed this when it first was published.
OMG thank you so so much!!! Your tutorial is very concise, clear and on the point, and I really love your clear voice! Thank you so much for this Photoshop tutorial
Yes, I have a Wacom Tablet. I like to shoot photos that tell a story and, of course, landscape. I shoot a Canon Rebel T4i. I really enjoyed this video. I used a photo of a waterfall and I think it will look wonderful printed of canvas.
Many different views on how to go Photo to WC. Yours is very different and nice, I painted WC until my hands stopped me, Photos with Nikons now D 850. Going through phases, landscape, flowers, astro, macro esp mushrooms and always flowers. Always trying to make photos look painterly. Esp like your direction on making a brush. There are several WC brush stokes that nobody makes a brush for, Now I will.
Love this technique, I have some photo I took that this will be great on. I use a Canon EOS R5 camera and like taking street and landscape style photos. I am a relative new follower, but I have tried other tips you shared with much success. Thank you for your channel and I hope to see more in the future
I specialize in horses and shoot with Nikons. Have a W tablet also. Thanks for showing us how to get a more realistic water color effect. I try to use textures and compositing to add an artistic effect to my photography.
Another great technique for creating art! I use a Wacom Intuos for my laptop, and a Cintique on a desktop. I enjoy taking landscape/nature photos mostly, but really I love shooting just about anything. I shoot with a Canon 6D, and for aerials I use a Mavic Pro and Inspire 1.
Great tutorial...especially for those of us who have NO painting skills. I shoot just about anything that doesn't move...(or doesn't move fast enough) with a Canon 5D MK4. I have used Wacoms since the first one..right now, I use an Intuos and have a Bamboo for travel.
I liked this video and the way you teach. I use PSE and am new to this tool. I like taking photos of my grandkids but want to create a watercolor effect to blur out their faces and use the images in a book. By the way, I paint in oil and have recently started to paint in watercolor as well. I have a lot to learn in PSE.
I just used this on an old photo of Saint Paul's Cathedral in Melbourne Australia. The outcome was amazing! Thank you so much. These days I use a Nikon D5200 with the kit lens and a tamron 70-300. I don't have a Wacum tablet but I am thinking it might be a good investment
Your technique is wonderful and easy to follow. Thank you for sharing it. I enjoy landscape and travel photography. And, I use a Canon EOS R, which I love. I have had a wacom tablet in the past, but now I have a Microsoft studio with a touch screen which is even better.
Colin, I just wanted to tell you how much I like this tutorial. I use this technique all the time now, and I've been combining it with another technique from a tutorial by Serge Ramelli. Both of you guys are great! You asked what kind of photography I like to do and what kind of camera I use. I primarily do nature, landscape and wildlife photography. My camera is a Sony Cyber-Shot HX400V, a bridge camera. It has a Carl Zeis lens with a 50x zoom. My only complaint about this camera is that it puts a lot of grain in the pictures, so I have my sights set on the Nikon P900, which I already know takes great photos, as I have a sister who has one. I'm yearning to get a drawing tablet, but for now I do the best I can with a mouse, and I must say I've gotten very good at it. Still, it's not good for very precise detail, so I cannot do any actual digital drawings or paintings until I can get myself a tablet. I will probably get a Huion, as I've read some great reviews on them. Blessings to you and stay well!
Great tutorial, as usual. I am learning so much from your clear and informative lessons. I shoot mostly landscapes and animals with a Sony a7ll. Thanks again
Settling in with coffee and time to listen and learn more great tips from the photoshopCafe. I've worked with several actions including editing for creating watercolors from my photos but starting from a filter and learning the process was a new path. I esp like creating the brush with the cloud effect for the soft irregular edges. Great results too! Thanks so much
Hello. I'm embarrassed to say I've been working on turning your photo into a watercolor for the best part of a day. I'm fine up to step 9, creating a brush. I've made a brush with a cloud pattern. So far so good. But when I fill the page with white and try out my cloud brush, nothing happens. I've gone over each step carefully, checked to make sure everything's as it should be, and I still can't tap the brush once, twice or three times and see a black cloud pattern appear. Please can someone help me? I feel I can't carry on to step 10 when there's something is happening that I can't do. Thanks in advance!
Brilliant tutorial, Ive tried turning photos into paintings before without much success but will definitely try this technique now. Wacom (intuos 3). Canon 760D. Mainly landscapes.
I really enjoyed the tutorial. I have a Wacom tablet but have never gotten comfortable with it. Would love to have a tablet with a display. Thanks for the video!
Love it...Use Nikon D7100 and D7000. Own a Wacom Intuos 3. Photograph landscapes and classic American cars. Really enjoy your videos. Very informative....
Enjoyed the Tut. I use a Wacom. Camera nikon D4. As Rick Sammon says My speciality is not to Specialise. What takes your mood or the circumstances you find yourself in.
Interesting tutorial! I use a Nikon D7100 and Wacom Intuso Pro medium. I like to photograph portraits, landscapes, cats, and black and white nudes. I would like to note that if the filter gallery is disabled you have to change the image to 8 bit channel, image->mode->8 bits/channel
Great tutorial, finally someone I can understand! I use an Intous Tablet and I shoot wildlife, people and an occasional landscape with my Sony A7R2. Thanks again!
I love to take wildlife photographs with my Canon R5. I have a Sigma 150-600 sport lens with a Sigma 1.4X teleconverter. i also love to take portraits, but I do not have many models. I just got a Canon 85mm 1.4 L lens for portraits. I need some models!!

I looked at this 2 years ago - coming back to it - it was the perfect solution! Thanks

Thank you Colin. I watched this months ago - but forgot - here it is to transform a composition! Love it.
