Thankyou Ive just come across your tutorials, very easy to follow - I'm fairly new to Photoshop elements. Ive got Elements 2021 but can't find the Default Plus brush set or the spatter brushes.
Hi Paul Segynowycz, pleased to hear that you have found my channel and find the tutorials easy to follow. :) To find the Default Brushes, open select a Brush from the tool box and head down to Tool Options. To the right of where it says Brushes click on the downward arrow and this will open the Brush Panel. Click on the down arrow on the top of the panel and here you'll find all the brush types in Elements. Select Default from the list and you'll find spatter towards the bottom of the list. Hope this helps and please let me know how you get on, Cheers David
This is great! I'm having one problem though. When I add the mask to Layer 1 and try to reduce the banding effect, nothing happens. The brush has no effect on the layer and does not reduce the banding or the color density. I have "black" selected for the brush color. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks D'Angela :), make sure that the opacity is set to 100% > Tool Options for the brush tool and make sure the Opacity is 100%. You mentioned that you are using Black so this should work. Hope this helps and please let me know how you get on. David
Hi @tkarlmann, my favourite filter to add a painted effect in Affinity is, New Live Filter > Noise > Dust and Scratches :) Have a look at these videos ruclips.net/video/KvG9CTbW7KI/видео.html and another technique ruclips.net/video/6xIpWkmn_A4/видео.html Or checkout my RUclips Channel, link in the description. Very nicely done. I'm going to give it a try on some beach photos.
Thanks Chuck Baldonado, let me know how you get on and I hope you enjoy using it on your images. David

If I'm using Affinity Photo, where/how can I emulate the "cutout" filter?
