Damn bro designed his own case, used the files for a 3d animation with crazy lighting, built the computer, ran the benchmarks, filmed his own video, editing everything, and is swole AF. What can’t he do?

$500 vs $800ish
People see the price difference and discount the fact on PC you have more choices of input in most if not all games, ability to mod games, play older games, emulate other systems games, play with any variety of monitors/resolution/frame rates, you get to use your computer for editing gaming montages, streaming, work, or any other PC program.
In some cases even this budget PC performs twice as good as the XBOX with higher fidelity. And you don’t have to pay for online.
In what world is all of that not worth the $300?
Keep in mind he built his own case and you do need a mouse and keyboard which he didn't factor in. Any decent PC case is going to run at least $80 or so, and most tiny cases for micro builds like this are like $120 more. Then you need a mouse, probably another $50 or so for something decent like a Rival 3 or something, another $80-$90 or more to get a decent mechanical one like Keychron or something. At that point you're looking at an extra $200 or so, bare minimum $100 if you're going for bargain stuff. At that point you are quite literally paying double, or at least close to it depending on case, mouse, and keyboard choices. I think it's still worth it, but to say it's only $300 more just isn't true
You do have more choice, but if you stray from the default (Xbox controller) forget the convenience. Try to make work a Dualsense or a DualShock 4 wirelessly out of the box.
Don't forget that games are often cheaper on pc than console, shrinking the price difference.
Well said. If you afford both, even better. However, I would always recommend getting PC first. My PS5 is more like TV's media center and I own only two exclusive games that are not (yet) on PC.
the thing on top of it all is it doesn't HAVE to be $800, you could spend that exact same $500 for roughly the same performance while gaining those benefits. And in the long run like you mentioned not having to pay for online, that adds up and you'll break even and save money.
But definitely that extra $300 does so much and you can't argue what you gain out of going PC.
The fact that mouse and keyboard players have to compete against controller in Apex Legends is absolute insane
I hope they fix this issue with cross/play in all fps games very soon.
They can't fix it. Either PC players deal with a significantly lower matchmaking pool (before cross play you couldn't find anything other than TDM on Call of Duty a few months after launch) or we play at a disadvantage.
I remember when playing with your friends no matter what platform they're on was a pipedream. I don't care that I'm at a significant disadvantage - I'm just glad I can play with friends and play my preferred game modes.
They can always switch to controller. Problem solved.
Apex and COD are just console games that people play on PC now.
@@GuyGamer1 they can fix it. It's more convoluted than it needs to be but it is fixable and it's not a platform problem. It comes down to mk vs controller. Being that consoles support m&k, then to me that's the only fair way. Alienate the scum of controller players entirely and let them fight AA on their own by themselves how they want it.
The version of Control you played on the xbox was the xbox one version so thats why you did not have a ray tracing toggle, you need to play the Control ultimate edition for the series x/s version. And secondly, you can use mouse and keyboard for most of the games you played on xbox as xbox supports mnk natively. Just a few things to correct otherwise good vid.
Yes, however, Apex and Overwatch are not games that can be used with a MNK natively. Only with third-party software, i.e., Xim or any other MNK adapters.
One difference I've noticed is I'm less framerate sensitive with a controller, you really feel when display doesn't match a direct body motion input like a mouse, vs just holding a stick left and it moves for you.
Very true. 60 fps with a controller is a lot more manageable than 60 fps with mouse and keyboard, even on third person games.
I think you can choose between keyboard and mouse, and controller on both platforms, can't you?
Also, wireless controllers tend to have more latency than a mouse input, so less FPS is not that noticeable when the response is overall slower but consistent
@@lande.r1bro what it is definitely noticeable
Yes but once you play 1000hz polling on controller at 120+, you will start noticing lol

So great seeing this and your case. I finally took the plunge making a custom case at 5.2 liters. Had the frame fabricated and made the custom cables. It’s way more fun than actually using a computer
Don't worry, you can make gaming just as fun as building a PC by getting intensely into relentlessly modding your desktop UI, along with every game you play. I struggle to play without ReShade in games now because I'm just feeding a relentless urge to constantly tinker.
nearly at a mil, congrats bro
and people are delusional for thinking controller's aim assist is fair lmao
Depends on game in apex its a terrible implementation
Yeah but a mouse is way quicker, easier to control & has better precision/accurate aiming, a controller joystick has a short movement its like 1/2 inch from top to bottom or left to right, plus aiming is controlled by a thumb vs whole hand lol, that's why some games have some aim assist or a slowed down aim cursor near targets, its not gonna make you any better, and also most game cheaters are by PC mouse/keyboard users, in the end both mouse & controller each have their pros & cons.
@@ArdaSReal Yes, obviously it's way overdone in this game. But then the question remains, if it's generally possible to balance two so different things, by using what always was and still is called a cheat, if not implented by the game devs themselves .. I don't think so, and I see it as a big problem ruining games, because it takes the relevance of skill away, which leads to even less sophisticated game experiences, which generally is an issue with console gaming, as console gaming alwys has been the 'lazy' way of gaming. And by technologies like this. they are dragging down the PC players' level of sophistication to the level of couch gamers, which is very sad, because there soon will be no choice anymore for those who actually like things being harder but also ore reqarding to master. The usual modern issue of 'instant gratification' is taking over gaming :(
Even controller players want aim assist lowered or removed, myself included, it’s not even needed that’s the broken part
It's only good 1v1. When you need to constantly move your aim it actually holds you back. If you think it doesn't you only play scrubs that can't even win a 3v1
Great video! I like the comparison and even thought its not apples to apples, but i guess thats not the point of pc vs xbox... quite impressive that little build of yours :) well done

Literally anything you can possibly think of. A personal computer has been the most powerful invention of the last 100 years, at least.
I love playing pc exactly for this reason but in terms of strictly gaming, consoles are making a much better case than they used to with the better performance customization with the quiet yet portable form unlike a normal desktop. Not paying for live services anymore is a great plus as well 🤙🏻
If PC was so good, why isn't there a PC 2?
Where are the linked fusion 3 project files?
I just recently got my first OLED monitor (Alienware AW3423DWF) and it makes me appreciate your production quality even more. I have been eyeballing a new Bambu Labs 3D printer and this just gave me an excuse to finally click the buy button and upgrade my now basically antique Lulzbot Taz 5. Looking forward to you uploading the files for this project for Fusion360 . I am planning to build this. Super slick and clean. BTW... What kind filament did you use? I was thinking PETG CF would be nice and durable. Awesome work !! If I remix anything I will be sure to link you and give full credit !!! Love all your videos. This one has me mind blown !
PETG CF and PLA CF are only very slightly more durable than their non-CF counterparts. Those are mostly beneficial for their nice matte black finish and very good dimensional stability. Neither would be suitable for a PC case like this due to their low temperature resistance.
ABS is probably the best commonly available choice for this, but if you really want to go fancy, PET CF is the way to go. You'll need a P1S or X1 enclosed printer for it, and a hardened steel nozzle with the P1S. 0.6mm is best, but 0.4mm will work.

This is a great video! Something to note; when consoles lock to 60fps, they typically need the headroom to do so, to provide a smoother experience. So I wonder if they unlocked the Xbox framerate cap, would we see 70-80+ FPS in Apex?
Nope, it doesn't work like that. Consoles use dynamic resolution scaling to maintain a lock at the target fps.
@@Chopper153 that actually depends on the title. Cyberpunk is a great example of resolution scaling, but otherwise having the CPU and GPU headroom is key for stability.
They wont probably unlock the frame rate tho
Would've loved to see a tear-down or build guide of the mini PC. Got me questioning building one now and replacing my huge tower.
Completely agree, the main driver in the PC vs console decision is budget and then compatibility. Consoles provide an out-of-the-box, consistent experience and the value of a service such as game pass cannot be understated. They are perfect for the user who does not want to tweak a ton of settings or deal with the complexities of a PC. PCs on the other hand, give you the freedom to tweak settings and upgrade individual components over time, which some people value and others don't. The use cases for both have a good deal of overlap, but I don't see the debate as one vs the other necessarily. It all boils down the the experience you prefer at the price point you can afford.
Really enjoy your content and would really appreciate a pc cleaning guide🙏🏽
You gotta appreciate how well he compares the two objectively instead of straight ripping on Xbox. I haven’t played console in years now but the value you get out of a Series X for $500 with better quality/performance customization than previous gen consoles is pretty amazing. This is perfect for casual gamers wanting to further explore into pc gaming, awesome video. 👍🏻
i have the same mouse pad through ur own recommendation, and was wondering if u use glass skates on it ever? i got some glass skates for my dav3 pro and its nice and smooth. however. once sweat starts accumulating on the mousepad, its instantly noticeable and significantly impacts the smoothness of the skates. to the point where its dragging instead of gliding. cleaning the pad fixes the issue, but as someone who gets really sweaty hands especially from gaming, it happens again pretty fast

8:45 I'm guessing you accidentally downloaded the older xbox one version of the game. If you look into the shop or the gamepass library, you'll see CONTROL: Ultimate Edition (or something similar to that) whch has the X|S badge in it. That is the newer version of the game that has the graphics options you're looking for.
hey bro, could you make a video about configuration of a new build pc, i always think i miss something, is there anything important beside the fan curve, bios update and the ram speed? thanks! love your content!
Hey! I saw your video on the smallest gaming PC and I think you can make it even smaller! You should check out some Framework PCB's, wich are consumer laptop motherboards. I think you can make a way smaller gaming PC using these, and these parts are available for everybody.
Something like a Framework PCB with a low profile eGPU and a tiny power supply for the GPU would be amazing and way smaller in volume than using a regular Desktop Motherboard.
I always enjoy when people bash 30FPS as harshly as it deserves, because it's a good reality check for delusional people with pitiful standards who consider it acceptable, and too many of them think it's not only 'acceptable' but a perfectly fine experience too. I can't even comprehend how immensely casual you must be to belong to that group of people.
Also you pay for Xbox to do nothing but gaming, which is a highly impractical scenario, but you can do literally anything on PC while still having access to the Xbox Game Pass and performing significantly better. An upgrade potential as well. Basically, PC is just an immensely better deal.
There is digital foundry if you need to know the resolution and settings on the console to match PC setting and a 4060 is not going to that.
Forza horizon 5 is not going to give you 4k 100 fps on a 4060, it's not even going to give you 4k 60 in high settings, that you got over 100 has to be a error on your part.
What's the noise level, power consumption and price?
I still hope too see more videos like this.
I currently have the PS5 with the GStory attachment. It's not ideal for travel at all, not even close. Curious to know if you would be willing to attempt a case with a mount for a screen (like one of UPerfect's 4K portable displays)
That would be a huge game changer for a lot of people since I think laptops are generally bad considering you need external power for them to get somewhat decent performance.
Control is split into the game on game pass and the definitive or ultimate edition which supports the 60/30RT settings.
mini is just the trend now, so size doesn't matter right?

I wonder if g-sync support will make a difference? Most consolers play on TV, which I think has some screen tearing protection(?), and pc’s mostly on monitors. If monitor supports g-sync/freesync the 50 fps will be much smoother
I think it’s really awesome what you’ve done with the mini pc. I know everyone fantasizes about having large rigs with all the top specs n such but I really feel like we’re at the point where we definitely could make top tier specs in the atx scene, rather even smaller than that. I know mini atx builds exist and what not but to get to the size that optimum has would be insane. Imagine a niche group of pc users that prefer tiny builds instead of large rigs and if those tiny builds could perform just as well as a full tower. I could imagine a market of many different mini case designs with useful features, modular capabilities, even swappable parts due to how small and compact the form factor is
I like both right. They are both good. But you showcased whats best about pc. Customization and open standards. You customized the case, a standard mini itx allowing you to design the case, an nvidia gpu with the performance and price of your choosing. The controller of your choice whether it be ps, xbox, other 3rd party, or kb and mouse. All the game setting customizations etc... the pc really is the only platform where you can make it yours.

Love the LG CX. The biggest display I could get was 55", because of the size of the space in my full entertainment center. I'm cool with that.
Love the video, but where are the 3d print files, like you said in the video?
Can you make a video on how to optimize a pc, like maybe cpu/gpu over clocking, ram timing, different xmp profiles fclk and whatever you feel like you want
@optimum
you can play MnK on console now just up to dev teams to decide if they want to support it
Though most this testing was done at 4K I have a feeling that the way faster CPU in the PC was doing a lot of the heavy lifting and helping push out those high framerates, even at 4K
For real man. The "it's a slow paced game I don't care about fps and input lag" argument amazes me. Do you not feel how gross it feels to control? Yeah you don't need split second reaction time but it feels gross. That smooth framepacing can only do so much to help 30fps.
With a controller, and when your display is taking up way less of your field of vision honestly, your eyes adjust, and input lag on a locked 30 really isn't as significant as you'd think. When you're hitting 30FPS because that's your GPU limit, it feels a whole lot worse. You see this with the amount of Steam Deck users who consider 30-40FPS an acceptable experience on a small display with analog controls. With a mouse though when the movement is 1:1 with your hand movement, it feels terrible. But with a joystick, you're controlling acceleration curves, so the feedback is nowhere near so sensitive.
I'd like to see you actually use the closest settings on PC to match the Xbox to be more accurate (you mentioned Digital Foundry, and they share those settings all the time), but great video anyways.
Been watching since the NCASE tempered glass panel, early congrats on 1 million subscribers!
