- Chinese former leader Hu Jintao has been led out of the closing ceremony of the Communist Party Congress.
The 79-year-old was sitting beside President Xi Jinping when he was approached and led away by officials. No explanation was given.
After its week-long congress, the party is expected to confirm Mr Xi, 69, for a historic third term.
The event, held in Beijing every five years, cemented his position as China's most powerful leader since Mao Zedong.

If he was ill, because they want to keep up the formality and the look of the ceremony, they would have still tryed to act like nothing is going on just like how other Royal guards act when one of them faints.
This isn't a real Government, this is a dictatorship that needs to keep up a show an illusion of inter party democracy and that reforms and change can be made.

🤣🤣 the Chinese system works in the entirely opposite way. If it was really about power struggle, you would not see Hu appearing at all. Power struggle is a private business in China. In public, they are supposed to show unity and camaraderie.
I would say they did it in the second public session instead of the first private session to show the whole world that the Chinese system is done with him officially and publicly because of his health. It's one way of saying " Get the hell out of here for good in public!!".

He reached out to his documents and Xi put his hand on that to stop Hu from lifting the document. The security and Xi then removed Hu’s hand from the document. Hu then was dragged out. He said something to Xi, and Xi brushed it off. He had a very terrified look on his face while walking out. Probably is going to get arrested or killed. I didn't really understand how respectable he was when I lived in China (in 2004), but now that I'm back in the West, I recognise how different his leadership was to the current leadership in China. For the record, I don't respect "my" president (Biden) any more than I respected Trump, Obama, the Bushes, or Clinton. I am torn over my feelings for the current chancellor of Germany (where I live now), as Scholz seems like a US puppet to me. But I am hoping that I am wrong. If Hu Jintao were president of China right now, I feel fairly confident that the German gov't (regardless of which party is in power here) would be more inclined to distance itself from the anti-China rhetoric that the US continues to propagate throughout Europe. This seems like an extremely disrespectful move, regardless of what the reason was.
