Ok now I‘m itching to add Eve to my TBR! You mentioned it a few times now and it sounds right up my alley! I heard mixed things about Ministry of Time, I‘m glad it worked for you😊
Eve was so good! Big recommend still! It keeps coming up in my mind and I keep mentioning it to people haha! Ministry of Time is a wild ride. It was great on audio too!
My best books of August The Alternatives by Caoilinn Hughes The Coast Road by Alan Murrin Wild Houses by Colin Barrett My Friends by Hisham Matar Amy & Isabelle by Elizabeth Strout Did you know that Commander Gore was areal person from a failed Antartica expedition?
I did know about Commander Gore cause I ended up googling the characters out of interest 😅 not sure if it makes it better or worst for me! Ooh which was your favourite book?
Eve was great, I can understand and agree the criticism for pageboy, although I enjoyed a bit more than you I think. And I hated an American marriage. I was just waiting for Celeste to stand up for herself, but she was always so passive with her back and forth… not my thing at all
I totally appreciate your criticism of American Marriage - I had issues with the relationships too, although I thought it was such an interesting window into the burden and problems of mass incarceration on people's lives.
