What an adorable village! At first blush, it almost has an alpine feel to it, like a Swiss village. The images during winter also look amazing. What a great place to retreat to! Shizuka and team, you guys really did an amazing job with this three part series! Shirakawa-go is my fave of the three. Its the kind of place that's just beautiful all year around. Well done! I love it!
I visited Shirakaga-go last year in November, it was such an incredible place, so beautiful and mysterious, just like stepping in a Ghibli movie. I loved it so much I will be back no doubt. Thank you Shizu for suggesting such interesting local culinary dishes.
So far, every city you toured is my favorite! You show so much of Japan that is not the regular run of the mill tours. I would love to do a tour of the cities you've shown some day!
I will say japanese architecture is my favorite. It invokes peace. I'd love to just be there week and regain inner peace. Great as always. Thanks girlie.
We as tourists spend so much time in the great cities of Japan that we can forget that the country is mostly mountainous. Would love to visit Shriakawa-go some day.
Shirakawa-go is definitely on my list of places to visit on my next trip to Japan! This is the exact vibe I'm looking for when visiting the country. Usually, those kind of places are quite busy though, so I tend to wake up super early in order to see them in the morning before the tourist rush. Or spend the night...
love the dedication to preserving the the classic houses, such treasures, I dream of climbing those steps to see those beautiful views and trying all those wonderful snacks
This is the best coverage of this town--I wouldn't think twice about living here for at least few years. I actually had the opportunity to stay in one of those houses, I got so excited but found out that building only had one shared bathroom. I thought I had all the time in the world, but now I don't know when I will ever have a chance to book your guidance.
Thank you for your informations. I always refer to your videos when studying english. Also your so great warming energy is always made me to happy thank you しずかさん!
Just came back from Japan and visited Shirakawago during the trip. Unfortunately, half the shops were closed including the famous pudding spot we were looking forward to trying the most called Pudding House. Maybe it was due to the light rain and/or certain spots are closed on Wednesday, but we at least tried the cafe, Kyoshu, which I highly recommend. Regardless, we had a great time there even with the rain!
Honestly, This village makes me nervous when I watch an anime named "Higurashi" 😂 But that was young me. After so many years, I realized this place is so beautiful and peaceful and deserves people's attention worldwide. I hope I will visit this village someday ☺
Wow, it's sooooo BEAUTIFUL there. I was raised in small towns in the states so places like this I would love to live in instead of a city. Amazing food and drink, thankyou for this awesome video
Amazing! Look at how thick the roof and inside timbers are. WOW! Always love a new adventure with Shizuka. Shizuka is best girl! The apple juice looked so good. Does Japan have an alcoholic apple cider like the UK or a distilled apple spirit like Calvados?
Now this looks like an interesting place to visit…my only concern is how to plan this in an itinerary if you have limited time in Japan, which is usually centers time in Tokyo.
Shirakawa-go is definitely on my bucket list of places to visit in Japan. You didn't mention (I think), but did you actually stay over in the town or just a day visit?
This video was great but the only thing missing is information about how to get here. Would be good to have some advice about best ways to get there from Tokyo and/or Osaka
Love the video! I'll be in Kanazawa with my elderly parents in a couple of weeks and i want to rent a car to take us to Shirakawa-go. My mum isn't able to sit on the floor Japanese-style. Would we still be able to visit these cafes? Do they have western-style tables and chairs? Thanks!
I just visited for the second time, and it was even more beautiful than before. Here’s a video I put together from the photos and footage I took. ruclips.net/video/6BtMzilZlKw/видео.html
Weird how there was one 6 min before you....also the "first comment" thing is really old and doesn't mean much. Why can't you just comment on the actual video?
Her little interaction with local people is so heart warming❤
I love that "little" interaction 😅
12:36 Cameraman, you totally nailed the cinematography, thanks for putting in the extra effort!
Thank you for noticing 😍Always trying to push ourselves 💪🏻
For sure, got me lost under the skirt

Gifu might be the most underrated prefecture. Everyone needs to visit! Hiroshima too
Outstanding - so much of Japan I have to see but this is tempting me to do a repeat
Always a great video with Shizuka ❤❤❤❤
I have heard about the area it’s GREAT they are preserving it!!!!,
And the sake ice cream I want that!!!!! 🍦 😊
Absolutely a great place to visit if you want to stray from the Tokyo-Osaka-Kyoto route a little bit 😉

Wow beautiful place ❤
Shizuka-chan got some mad skillz with chopsticks. She puts my chopstick handling skills to shame.😂

Nice of point of view video.

You've got to do a Japanese language course. You'd be the perfect guide.

Are the prices okay or expensive? Considering so many tourists visit this place. I already planned going there next year.
I keep hearing the place name as Chicago for some reason.
