I get dogs out and fed, while everyone else sleeps, and I wander through my 8 gardens to see what has changed and what has needed done. I love it! I take my sage tea with me!
My husband just caught his first episode in months and he was gobsmacked by all you've done! It really is amazing.
So very happy you chose to come back to you tube .You and the kids are doing great.l was a single parent of four for many years, and l know it can be challenging.l wish you tube would have been available for me as income then si l could work from home.Keep on making beautiful memories with those sweet babies ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Your the Queen of encouragement! Gentle teacher. I so enjoy n love virtual gardening with you. I'm learning, growing n eating better too! Prayers for you ❤dear friend
I have just found you; so blessed that God’s hand is mightily on your lives
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I find it mind blowing how a tiny seed grows into something so beautiful. I love it when I can make meals from the garden and not have to buy food which I'm very grateful for. 🙏😊
Your garden is so lush ,, it’s all the love and hard work.
Fantastic Harvest. I take what ever my garden provides. ❤️
You are a beautiful, inspirational lady..God is taking care of you.
You really come alive when you’re in your garden Bri! You look so happy 😀
Growing up, we always just put the scraps on the paths in the parts of the garden that were resting. The soil seemed to enjoy it.
I like the idea of using the fermented compost tea to water with.
Perfect timing for showing me how to plant strawberry plants in a Greenstalk! My daughter got me one for Mother's Day and just today I was finally able to buy some GOOD soil for it and tomorrow I'm transplanting my strawberries in it. Thank you so much!!!!
You have the most beautiful garden that I've seen!🙂
You are doing so well Bri! You are growing more handy everyday. You are a incredibly talented gardener.
Your garden is really rockin'.
I just want to say, you're doing a fabulous job!!
You can make a compost pile wherever without enclosing it in anything. Mix different things, water it, every now and then turn it all and wet it. The Bakashi 's advantage is that you can let it build up in the kitchen without it stinking. But if you have a pile, just put your daily kitchen scraps in the pile. Bless you!
Your cabbage is doing great.
Always such a learning, loving, joy to watch you. Bri, you definitely have a green thum. Your garden is amazing.
I love the new green color of the greenstalks. It blends in so much better with the landscape.
Your vegetables are incredible.
Bri, you are such an enjoyable part of my day. I’m housebound and your videos remind me of decades past with children and gardening- both purely joyful times. I smile while watching. 😊 Thank you! I realize, with life, there are darker days of feeling overwhelmed, but your posts are uplifting. Good job, momma.
Easy compost.... bury kitchen scraps and vegs scraps from garden into a spare row in your garden, turn over monthly and you have your own compost. Or straight into that square dirt box.
Great day in the garden. So fresh and green.🎉
Squirrels are the worst! For the past 5 years or so, I have been starting my sunflower seeds in toilet paper rolls so I can plant out in the rolls and not disturb the roots. Once they are 3-5 inches tall the squirrels and birds don’t feast on them. Till they are producing seeds, that is! :) good luck with the replanting!
As I watch your videos on a break from tackling weeds in my backyard, I am reminded of the possibilities that can happen once the clearing is done. Can't wait to create my own garden and love all the tips you give!
Cabbage leaves, not eaten, should go into your compost. I'd build a composting site/pile in a remote spot in your back garden.
You are doing an amazing job! 👏
Was thinking... get the kids a plastic pool for a sandbox. That wooden doo woppy would be a fantastic raised bed! Peace! Love ya
You will like the Bokashi system Bri ❤
What a great afternoon! Thanks for taking us along ❤
Those are some pretty amazing cabbages, and lots of yummy peas! Your garden is a green food oasis, such a better use for your space than just a big lawn! ☺
Someone I watched harvested cabbage, cut above where you were cutting & got new cabbages growing again.
Just wanted to say you're doing a wonderful job mama ❤️ you're rocking it!
Old fashion way for keeping away critters and birds Hang aluminium pie pans around the garden. I've also heard to have a whirly gigs and spinning garden decor. Can't tell you how effective they work but worth a try.
I had a gopher visit my greenhouse today, in the middle of the day!
Lovely video. Thank you, Bri. I'm 73 years old, living in Canada and learning so much from you. God bless you. You are a great mommy.
I’m loving your new channel and content . I wasn’t subbed before it was renamed although I knew of it, he umm wasn’t my cup of tea. Glad you’re doing well. Growing in NC is pretty awesome I think. I’m coastal NC, our growing season here is year round. Your garden looks incredible ❤
Bri, you work so hard everything is beautiful. 😅😊 So much hard work in your beautiful garden
Your peas look amazing!!
I have buried raw food scraps in resting garden rows in the past and it worked well.
When I plant my sunflowers seeds I sprinkle cayenne over top
I grew some Cabbages but the cabbage worm has eaten through my cabbage. Yours look so amazing
My garden on the West Coast is just starting yours is wonderful,
Your garden is looking more & more amazing. Well done & enjoy!
Grass clipping and leave make great compost.
Wonderful vlog & your teaching style is great & encouraging! Thanks for sharing! Blessings to all 🤗💜🇨🇦
Bri WOW your garden is just amazing- I try every day to get out into my garden but nothing is ready to harvest yet as my winter vege aren't ready. Also I am struggling this week as I have Covid & it is very debilitating. Cheers Denise- Australia
You’re doing an amazing job, just sayin’ God Bless you and yours~❤️
Beautiful garden. Enjoy all that goodness.
Awesmome, Bri. Thank you for the content. You inspire so many people!
The magnet tile on the fridge made me smile. :) I hope the composter works well for you. Maybe a bin of compost worms would be a good addition? Im super impressed with your garden! It's a great size and such lovely harvests.
The Early Childhood Center at the college uses pea gravel instead of sand. It is WONDERFUL! Great for water play too.
Beautiful harvest 😊
This is exactly what I needed! #GREENSTALK SEND BRI AN AFFILIATE CODE! I lost alot of strawberries last year, trying to plant them, they did not winter over in my green stalk...they also were very tart. ( Seascape and the ones with hot pink beautiful flowers) I had heard about the crown, but its really hard to see. Even harder in the Greenstalk! I see now what I may have done wrong. Tier not filled enough. Crowns not completely out of soil. The angle idea too. I tried planting with tiers together, but it was difficult to see as I was planting. All of these ideas will help!
Bri, you've become my favorite gardener to watch! Keep doing what you are doing. It is so inspiring!
my favorite garden too!!!! sooooooo good!
Good to see you all are doing so well!! May God continue to bless you!!
I have strawberries growing in a Greenstalk love it. I always plant my lettuces in one! Thank you for the cabbage lesson
You can put all those cabbage leaves in your compost
Have a lovely rest id your week. How exciting to see your harvest.❤
I have been composting for over a decade and never heard of composting dairy. I look forward to seeing how Bokashi goes for you.
I feel the same as you about enjoying putting my hands in the dirt, which is definitely so good for your brain's chemicals!!
It has been amazing to see how quickly your garden has grown and the harvest you have been receiving.
Dairy stinks and can therefore attract critters. But if you put at the hot center of the pile it is not noticible and then it just gets broken down like everything else.
I have a small 5 tier planter. I love it. Got it this year . Blessings for you and your family ❤️✝️
The garden is looking amazing Bri !! You just inspired me to take my tushy outside and do a big harvest.
You are glowing as your garden grows
David the good is the best source of composting knowledge 😊
You are battling birds and squirrels, I'm battling pill bugs. Despite frequent dusting with DE they are still feasting on my baby plants. Hopefully there will be enough life left in them to push out some new growth and maybe that will have a chance. Your neighbors must be enjoying seeing your garden come to life and the beauty it has added to the neighborhood. Thank you for sharing it with us and offering up great tips too.
I love learning from you!!! Have a great day.
Oh my cabbage was sad but we will see , tomarrow ill harvest some. The system looks interesting on recycling. But i guess my chickens do that, so 👍🏼
We are trying to catch all your videos. Praying for all of you. So encouraged by your positive attitude and hard work.
All this really makes me want to make a vegetable garden!
Bri your garden is beautiful. I hope you have a blessed day!
Also I love your video so much they are such a inspiration to me ❤❤
I can tell when my cabbages are done when the bottom leaves lay down towards the ground also, lol. While it's growing, the outter leaves are surrounding the head, when they are done, they lay down with the jewel sitting top saying "here, pick me, I'm done" 😂
Your garden is filling out beautifully!
Young lady that is quite a harvest. I can’t wait for mine to be ready cause I’m up in Massachusetts. I did pick a couple heads of broccoli and cauliflower already because I got them in early and the sugar peas are just about ready but the tomatoes and squash I’ve got all summer to go, but you have come a long way and I do mean a long way from what you had. And you’re doing fantastic. I don’t know how you manage with seven little ones they’re a handful I can imagine but I do give you kudos for pushing forward and just keep moving forward. You have been blessed and just keep going sweetie really just keep going hon. You are incredible.❤❤
Well done
Ur garden is amazing ,
U have worked so so hard ,and u are absolutely brilliant ,mum ,gardener ,looking after thr home ,its thriving and so are u all ,take care and keep doing what ur doing ,
From tried and true I just put the on the roots only cause it turned the leaves yellow. All my garden is just starting too grow well and it won't be long till harvesting days. I still have sweet potato slips too plant.
What a lovely video of your garden. I found myself smiling all through it. You seem more confident and content. I am so glad for you. You got this!! Hugs Bri❤
Enjoyed the video
I learn the strawberry crown thing the hard way. The first time trying to make a garden.
Mine have been eaten too. I thought the sunflowers were safe because they were 5 inches tall...NOPE. Started them over yesterday.
Maybe while you wait for some kind of composting system suitable for your situation.....you could search out ... either a rabbit poop or a goat poop supplier in your area. These are cold fertilizers and you could use them right away. Just a suggestion.....Good luck with your new system.
The peas are incredible. I never have that kind of success with them. Wow. I so love watching you picking out of the garden to bring in. How exciting that we went from the excitement of you actually having your garden and now already eating from it! The cabbages look so yummm to. hugs
What about worm castings. Try Jess from roots and refuge and Jill from Whispering Willow. You probably know who I’m talking about. They probably know more things. I remember Jill once talking about coffee and probably had something to do with rabbits with you may have thought of with kids anyway.
Love your videos. Using what you have. Making things work!!! Your garden is gorgeous as you and the kiddos are. Carry on!!!!!
Also, have you tried the broccoli leaves? We love them cooked just like collards. I also do kohlrabi, cauliflower, radish, and many other leaves this way or saute them. I love them in a salad with multiple greens and cabbage.
The garden is looking great!!!
Korean natural farming is really good
In the ground composting, or veggie pitting, is very successful. It becomes a life style but makes very good soil and even in the ground worm nurseries.
My friend buries all her kitchen scraps right into her raised beds!
Hi Bri, your garden is beautiful! I know it is not what you were used to but you and the children are doing a great job. I have planted sunflowers every year (since 2011) in my garden and never had a problem with birds eating the seed until this year. Out of 36 seeds planted four were not eaten by the birds. Of course you have many more!
Great video, Bri! Your garden is amazing -- to have THAT bounty come from a hard lawn in just a matter of weeks, seems miraculous! I hope your neighbors appreciate that beauty, and are interested in gardening too.
I hope you win the battle with the squirrels! Im looking forward to seeing the hedge of sunflowers! I wonder if basil, marigolds and dill planted with the sunflowers would help discourage the wildlife🤔
0:52 Sweetie. You have kitchen scraps that's nitrogen. You also have lawn and gress cuttings are also free compost nitrogen (side note. Mulching lawn mowers grind up valuable resource and waste it, most often.) Dried leaves are carbon. Make compost. Plant crops that make crops for compost. Lawns with clover etc can generate and awful lot of nitrogen. Blessings everyone.
I agree. All I am saying is that I am trying out various forms of composting, especially since I need so much of it.
@@Brifromscratch those little things are not going to do much in a big household with a big garden. Can use same process in containers that are much bigger, I'm almost sure. Also. Maybe grow blocks of crops like hulling peas. Then when done harvesting, cut tops for mulch (aka sheet composting). Layered with dry leaves etc. Lots of crops can be grown for mulch ( sheet composting) in the garden. And of course, make plans to plant cover crops in every available bare inch (lol, maybe not every inch) as soon as bare for end of season. Many rich blessings everyone.
The bokachi will provide a large amount of liquid fertilizer for sure and it produces it within days. Worm composting can work pretty quickly as well and you can definitely make quite a bit.
I plan on some of those things but I also want to try other methods.
Many years ago our council ran a project giving out Bokashi kits for free. I really didn't get on with it, but I think it's because there wasn't enough of the bran to stop it smelling the house out. I look forward to seeing how you get on with it, because I haven't thought about it since then. I was lucky to be running big muck heaps at the time, so didn't really need to.
I have roasted slightly bitter broccoli and other veg and thrown a touch of balsamic vinegar on it and found it delicious. A possible option. Or even stir fried with a touch of balsamic vinegar. The sweetness in the balsamic really counteracts it
I put strawberry in my green stalk and herbs and they are doing great
I’m always excited to see your videos! 😊🎉 Bri, you are a wealth of information and such an inspiration! ❤
Beautiful garden!
Such good info as always! Thanks! ♥️🙏♥️🙏
Your garden looks so lush and green. You stated you went a while with no rain. How often do you water when it does not rain? My peas died due to no rain for over 3 weeks. Only watered 2 to 3 times a week. Your channel was my introduction to homesteading and gardening.
Your peas are crazy tall.. mine bearly get a couple feet before the flop over.
I love your beautiful garden ❤. And the shirt you are wearing looks so comfy!!
