I love it to allow the children to go to snack from the garden. It’s so healthy for them and it’s much better than candy and chips and pop… Not anything wrong with having it once in a while but too often children do not know boundaries.
I grew up in a family of 14 and we had Lots of Garden food and Orchards to eat from, however, we were not allowed to ever go help ourselves to the garden food. My mother counted on being able to can as much of that as she could to get us through the winter months until the next garden year! Plus, we had a lot of people that counted on my parents for food and they were at our home several times a week, and then it was always someone from the church on Sunday plus my grandparents that came to eat and if we would’ve been allowed to just go into the garden just anytime, we would NOT have had that wonderful food and meals that my mom made for everyone THROUGHOUT THE YEAR❣️. She passed away from cancer and I sure miss her cooking, ,Especially her fried chicken and strawberry shortcake.😊❣️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ I love how joyful you are with your children, how are you guys seeing your prayers together which is a wonderful way for children to learn easier, and not all of this pretentious throughout the day. I’m glad you have daughters to help you in the kitchen because my mom had eight daughters, and from the time we were six and eight years old, we were being taught how to cook something or bake something and until we got very good at it, then she teaches the next item. I’m so thankful for those lessons, and I know your daughters will be good mothers, or hostess because of your teachings.😊🌈😇♥️♥️
Also I’m so glad about the birch mattress for your daughter Joyful. A mattress like that would’ve helped me so much growing up as I had tremendous allergies and a lot of asthma problems that took me to the ER from the time I was eight until I moved to Kansas in my early 20s where the air was less humid and I wasn’t around so much gardening pesticides from the neighbor, etc., also, I was very allergic to dust and mold and people don’t think about how your pillows get very moldy from sweat and they should be replaced a couple times a year. I don’t care how expensive they are or how cheap they are. I have a granddaughter who has serious asthma issues also and I am going to send my son-in-law this information about the mattress and the free pillows because I think it would help her to sleep better. She gets bad headaches and her mother and I both suffer from migraines. Again, Bri, God bless you for your joyfulness and outlook on life and I love how you talk about your garden with so much positivity and excitement. It just brightens my day.💚🩷💛♥️ 💙💛💚♥️😊🌈

It's lovely to have entire meals of homegrown/harvested/foraged foods! And just adorable how much the children enjoy fresh veggies in the garden. It reminds me of when I was growing up on a farm. I would pick cherry tomatoes and snack while picking, and my mother never complained because I was always snacking on fresh stuff we grew ourselves. She would say, in the early summer that when we picked everything that was ripe, we would find an empty spot to plant the seeds of the cherry tomato, bean, pea, squash, or cucumber just to have the chance to harvest it "in a little while". Thank you for bringing us along on this day and sharing.

I harvested Swisschard and fed everything before the Rains. The Swisschard has filled the Greenstalk again🎉.
I'm so pleased to see that you got a bunch of Peas after the wind got to them👍.

I used to feed my kids and daycare kids afternoon snack and send them outside... they'd always head straight into my garden to find peas and beans to eat (I wondered why I bothered with the indoor snack). I always gave them a hard time about stealing my veggies so they felt like they were getting away with something a little naughty.🤣

Next mattress, put it on the bed frame before cutting open. Then you don't need to pick it up off the floor!

Regarding bokashi: you don’t have to cut it up at all, but if you do, it becomes dirt a lot faster once you dig it down.
