I think you should buff them a little bit. Make their moving speed faster, change their speed of charging attack, so houndeye had a more chance to make an attack. Or you can make that it will be depending on how much houndeyes in pack, to make them more deadly in groups.
personally I feel like they should be faster but with lower health and with stronger attack-- feel like they should do direct physical attacks as well-- they're nourished, so they're weaker but they're desperate-- capable of doing some things they couldn't do before and incapable of doing the basic things they could do before.
You would realize that these creatures are actually in a wasteland where food and water is limited, the stripes should be red though, and they don't need to get any buffer cus they're meant to be that way
Btw, check their damage. More of them close 2 each other - more damage they do. The first waves they did were purple color, and halfed HP. And the last 1 was white color, did nearly no damage. D - Details.
I really like how you got the Houndeyes to function is HL2, and they have squad mechanics. The different colored sonic attacks are really cool, and calls back to the original. I like how they scatter when one is killed, but regroup shortly after because they’re famished. Maybe, you could have some flank you while the others distract you. The way that you made some a reddish brown, and others a yellow green is a really cool detail. Although, their strips should be red because they’re starving. One thing you definitely should do is making their movement and attack speed faster. At the moment they’re not that effective in combat. Small issues aside you’ve done an excellent job. It’s really too bad that Valve cut these from the final game. They would have added in some much needed enemy variety, and made the world feel more like a natural continuation of HL1.
I really like their shockwave attack design. It really looks like a natural mechanism they use. The explosion-like flash and sound are great
the ONLY thing wrong with this is that the Houndeye's back stripes arent the correct colour, they're supposed to be red because they're malnourished.

In my headcanon Vortigaunts used Houndeyes to lure Antlions away from their villages (in their original homeworld, not Xen).
houndeyes were going to be in half life 2 but were cut for unknown reasons.
