Observing and copying human behavior might be one way for them to figure it out, but I guess they could also put two and two together from the smell and understand what that weird seat is used for. Either way I think it's a lot harder to deliberately teach them.

Unfortunately, this was back in the 1980's before phone cameras were a thing, so I have no footage. Her name was Boadicea, but we usually called her Bo.
