    I use the AD300 Pro and one of the factors i love is that it pairs really nicely with the Godox Softbox with the godox mount resulting in a very slim Softbox and easy to carry without any additional mounts. Saves a lot of time and extremely portable. Great video !

    I've been using the Godox AD300 system for a few months now and so far, so good. I have found it reliable and the output is more than enough for my needs so far. I'm planning to use them a lot more in the spring and really put the to the test.
    Thanks for your reviews and video's I always enjoy them.

    I have always loved and been inspired by your work. It was because I wanted to create photos like yours that I started with Godox flashes. I have been using a 600 Pro and 200s now for a couple years. I have been very pleased with the entire system. My experience is similar to yours, but on a consistent multi-year basis. I use my lights on location and they have been very reliable. I think they are great values for the price.

    My first set of strobes were the PCB Einsteins. I loved them but they were a royal pain to transport, or boom. I started investing in the Godox system through Adorama's rebranding Flashpoint.
    I started with a couple of their speedlights, and a couple years ago I picked up an AD-600 pro. I've had a few misfires, but that mostly happens when the batteries in the triggers are going dead. I love that I can now use my Flashpoint lights with a meter so I get first-shot exposure.
    It is a great system for hobbyists and I really love the breadth of the ecosystem. I can go from a speedlight on up to a 1200Ws strobe and use the same remote.

      @@jameshall2882 the best advice I can give you is to understand what you are trying to do and what modifiers you're trying to use.
      I've often filled a 31x47" softbox with a speedlight and never get to full power. If I'm using my 47" reverse parabolic, I barely get beyond minimum power in my home studio (17x25 feet). If you're trying to do HSS, you'll need more power.

    After fighting with multiple trigger systems, I wanted one remote to rule them all. Enter godox, replaced the yn650s, the neewer vision 4, and the wescott strobes and yongnuo triggers. All the items worked well, but simple is better. I have 3 speedlights, an ad400pro, 3 of the newer all metal DP series strobes and couple of the blaz lights that i put on a boom. My only complaint is the studio strobes tend to run a bit on the warm color side of 5500. I am not sure any of the stuff would hold up to the rigors of daily use but for me its convenient and affordable and does the job.

    With the Ad200pro, Ad300pro, and Ad400pro. Get the extension mount for the Ad400 pro and the Ad200 pro. The reason is you can put the heads on a light weight boom for an overhead light.
    With the Ad300pro. Get the Godox mount Ad s85w and Ad S65w. The mount size is so small it can be mounted to the ad300 in many lightstand bags. So you pull your stand out and the stand has the ad300pro and modifier mounted ready to go. Ease of use is just insane. The Godox mount is also on the ML60 LED lights so in inside dark conditions with constant light the tiny mount large modifiers can also be used.
    I just wish they had more Godox mount modifiers. They make quick setup and travel so easy. Toss in a couple Nissin Carbon stands and the kit weighs nothing. Now, outside. Then need a bag on the legs because they're so light. But that's what the camera bag is for.
    And Always, Always, Always use Alkaline batteries in the transmitters. Rechargeables are a lil low on voltage and can cause issues.

  • @godsakes
    @godsakes 2 года назад +1

    Re modifiers for outdoor shoots I quite like the umbrella softboxes where the strobe goes inside - as they're uber light/compact and they also serve as rain protection. Not as nice as the native godox s65/80 softboxes but I think they're better suited for indoor work.

    • @Hkvisuals
      @Hkvisuals  2 года назад

      Umbrella outdoors, they scare me because of the wind... I had a few mishaps with them in the past

    • @godsakes
      @godsakes 2 года назад

      @@Hkvisuals The ones I mean have a softbox diffuser cover (so the strobe goes inside and is fully covered) - they're no more prone to wind then a softbox would be (but ultimately all softboxes are somewhat prone to be blown over by the wind, it's only takes that one strong gust).

      Pour ma part, j'ai opte pour le AD400Pro (parce l'AD300Pro n'etait pas encore dispo). L'avantage par rapport au AD600Pro c'est qu'il rentre perpendiculairement dans un sac-a-dos photo. l'AD600Pro nécessite presque un second sac photo.

    In studio, I use mainly PaulCBuff. but in my travel kit, got 3 Godox AD 200 ( pro and standard ) and 2 godox speedlite. have the adapter to make 2 AD 200 Pro into a 400 WS strobe. I think it's the most versatile Strobe ( AD200 pro ) and it fit inside a Nanuk 930 ( pelican style case ).
    Just be careful , in the trigger, don't put any battery, if your strobe miss-fire, change the battery in the trigger, put non-rechargeable battery.

    • @MrPhotog7

      @@Hkvisualswhen I put in rechargeable batteries in the trigger, the battery charge indicator would show that the battery was almost depleted after only a short time. However, when I started using only non-rechargeable batteries, I’ve never had that problem again. Have no idea why that was an issue with the rechargeable batteries, but I’m glad it is now not an issue at all.

    Dear Haze, I use AD 200 PRO and 400 PRO since 2019, outoors. Nothing to say with the strobes, theyre good and reliable but attachments definitely need imrovements. What prevented me from buying the 300 PRO is exatcly the attachment. I don't see how it can hold a 90 or 120 octabox at 45 degrees, since 400's attach (way stronger than 300's) is too weak already. I'm quite tired of this actually, the same is true for other Godox attachments. For now I use external flash heads to help reduce the weight but I'm not happy, I still have to go back at the octabox from time to time and hold tighter again and again Godox's attachment. Btw I use those same Manfrotto stands, they're good.

    • @Hkvisuals
      @Hkvisuals  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the feedback ! Personally I wouldn't attach a 120 soft box on a 300 or 200 pro... They are not made for that. I am not talking about the mount, but the power output! I double diffuse often and even add a grid, it would just not work with such big light modifiers... But that's just me.
      I will still have a close look at that!

    • @lorenzofortunati
      @lorenzofortunati 2 года назад +1

      @@Hkvisuals well with a double diffuser, the 300 would be ok at dawn or sundown, for sure. Most of the times I use only one sheet, so even in the late afternoon I can use the 200 with no problem. By the way the problem stays the same: the same bugged holding system is shared by 400's attachment and by the generic Godox strobe holder for 200 pro, and both fail with a 120 softbox. I've read someone replaces the green original washer with one made of hard rubber and it works better, but what a design flaw for so good a product
