How do you feel about the Interfit honey badger lights, like the 320W or the Unleashed 250W? The unleashed seem real similar to the godox lights. They do TTL and HSS and are battery powered. They seem to be cheaper than godox. They usually come in a kit with two lights, two softboxes and 2 light stands for around $699
Hola Francisco, can you talk more about the glistening layer you added to her face? Or maybe point me to another video where you might have delved into it more? Thank you! Really like the way this one turned out!
This is the video I've needed to watch for years!!! I feel I keep getting the run around with many RUclipsrs but you got to the points I've been missing. Im on lightroom often but I was never able to get the final steps right for that pop look and you did that. Thank you! I want more content like this pls.
Great job! Very informative. Dont sway away from these type of videos. Annnd all this time ive been watching you and i finally confirmed that your from the valley...backgrounds looked very familiar. Freakin' awesome.
I’ve learned so much from your Chanel. This is exactly what I need to see. I’ve never used settings like what you have and learning more and more how to create better images.
Man...I appreciate your videos so much. I have watched them for years now and hope you continue making them. I was VERY surprised you didn't use an ND filter for this...looking at the SOOC shots, I would've thought you did since in my head AD300 isn't supposed to be powerful-enough. Thanks for pointing out that ambient wasn't actually too bright. This is why I love your videos!!! I only have speedlights but will now finally get a strobe and AD300 is the likely choice. Is it compatible with 3rd party wireless triggers like Yongnuo? I have a 5D MkIV as my body.
I use the eyedropper tool. I think the shortcut is "i" in photoshop. Just click on the color and paint it where you want then change the blending mode to color.
Great video thank you so much for all the behind the scenes they’re very helpful you did mention in your video you’re giving a lesson where can we find out more information on lessons
I'm sure it has been said but temperature gels will closely match the natural light you're shooting in. Saves anyone from trying to match the cooler day light temperature from speed light vs the golden light from the sun and environment. For me it takes the image one step closer to looking as natural as possible.
Totally agree about using gels. I'm just lazy sometimes and resort to post more often than not. If I couldn't do any post work then I'd absolutely be using gels.
Hi! It's a very nice video!! Also a GREAT Picture!! Can I see a Picture of the Settings of your flash? I mean.. if it's in TTL Mode, or M, or which one? I'm just starting at Lightning and I'm a bit confuse! (I also have the AD300 PRO) TIA!!! :)
Hi, crazy awesome shots as always. You're a master of OCF! Please tell us how you control the light spilling onto the floor/background, because usually there's none, and that's unreal! Grids do help, but I don't remember ever seeing you use one...
I usually feather the light which just means barely aiming it to the subject. This causes the light to hit the subject then "fall off" (disappear) around the feet. Other times when I have the light hit around the subject I use editing to darken the area around the subject so it looks more controlled than it is.
@@fjhphoto thanks again, especially for the timestamp. I was too absorbed in how beautiful the model and her shorts are, to notice the light position myself 😁
Hola Francisco, how do you get the camera to focus on the eye of the model when the ambient light is too low? (I use a Sony A7r III). When I expose for the ambient light and then turn on the flash, the ambient light is too low for the camera to obtain focus on the eye. Thanks so much for all your tips.
I never use a tripod. Probably because I don't mind raising the ISO so if I ever need a slow shutter in low light I just instead raise ISO. I can go up to 6400 comfortably on the Sony A7RIII.
Great video! I can see why people ask why you might be using gels. I am no expert whatsoever in OCF, but most of my flash that I use is very cold and blue and I’ve always been a fan of your warm toned photos. Maybe they are asking because their flashes are blue as well? That’s just my input :)
Thanks so much for this comment. Maybe that is why. Hopefully I can get an example of that from someone to see if that’s what happened with their shot and if it’s just needing a simple tweak in Lightroom to correct.
Yes I used it here. I was teaching someone that day and he didn't have a nd filter so we used HSS out of convenience. HSS does lose power but sometimes that less power can be enough still.
Sir, Can I ask your opinion on a issue that I am having? I am using a dual monitor for my desktop.. same model... same lighting conditions... same calibration... when I edit on one monitor (let's say the left one) the image turns out great.. let's say I move the image to the right one the colors are horribly off. I print the image and the one that has the horrible colors is the way it actually is. What can cause such issues? When I watched this video, it looks great on the one that I thought was horrible looks good but the one I originally edited on that looked good turns out bad. I am going nuts and the calibration is just not cutting it. I am going crazy on the monitors to try and find out what is good.
Nice video, and portrait. For me, the tree way in the background on the left side of her head at ear level, really bothers me. Did you consider editing it out?

Very nicely done. Thank you for sharing!

Great work
Thanks for sharing that video, I have a question though, Can Godox Ad300 Pro overpower the sun when shooting midday?
would love to know more about the noise/contrast layer you added! great video
I'd like to see your entire editing process. Like how you did each layer exactly.

Sir which picture style you choose to shoot outdoor and what adjustments you do in picture style
First-rate job!
thank you so much
Was using 1/4 cto gel to warm skin tones but it throw off the whites. There is no gel perfect solution. I ended up using software.
What size soft box did you use?
realmente no se si hablas español pero eres una bestia la verdad thanks very much!!!!!!!
Thanks buddy!
What power and what mode did you use on the flash?
Hi, do you ever use your AD300 bare bulb, without a modifier when shooting outdoors ?
Is the quality of light any good ?
Thanks for your help.

@@fjhphoto thanks a lot FJH! Do you feather sideways or in height? Meaning the light is high enough to fall off before reaching the ground?
@@AbbasBinYounas check out 9:21 to see how the light is positioned. I always feather like that with the light up a bit.

You really got my attention with your comment about lowering the highlight and raising the shadow. Interesting. Also. Do you use a tripod ?
I never use a tripod. Probably because I don't mind raising the ISO so if I ever need a slow shutter in low light I just instead raise ISO. I can go up to 6400 comfortably on the Sony A7RIII.
I’ve been told the gel is to make the subject look more natural out of camera, while not altering the background colour temperature
The few times I tried that the shot just looked really unnatural so I just avoided them.

Nice video. Balancing the exposure very hard.
great tutorial my dude. I was wondering since I saw your shutter speed was at 1/6400, do you use TTL for your Godox ad300?
I never use TTL. Always manual settings. I think you're mistaking TTL for HSS?
@@fjhphoto I think you’re right lmao. Thank you so much!
Did you use highspeed sync while taking this photo? saw one of your earlier videos where you talked about drawbacks of hispeed sync
Yes I used it here. I was teaching someone that day and he didn't have a nd filter so we used HSS out of convenience. HSS does lose power but sometimes that less power can be enough still.
Quick question, how many photos that you edited in one session ?
If I recorded bts video maybe 10-15. If no bts video maybe 3.

I'm not sure I can help here. I don't calibrate my monitor at all and I actually use an old 2011 TV to edit. It came with great colors already.
I'm waiting for your class on skillshare
Nice video! Robert Hall has great RUclips videos that explain how to use gels for color correcting.
I need to rewatch his videos. Every time I practice with gels it doesn't come out right.😅
why should a photographer avoid lowering the highlights and raising the shadows
It creates a flat and odd look. I go over this in another video.
Please do a video on the editing in photoshop.

Nice video, and portrait. For me, the tree way in the background on the left side of her head at ear level, really bothers me. Did you consider editing it out?
The one right by her hair? I left that because it provided separation from her hair and the highlight on it.
I hope you change the camera angle, cuz it's really not comfortable looking at
