Thanks for the quick video and the mini editing tutorial. I love to use ND to maximize the power of the equipment. I’m not good working with D&B so I will be waiting your next editing full tutorial of these awesome photoshoot. Thanks 🙏
Excellent videos...which I'll be going over, probably watching the same ones several times to fully understand/engage in the workflow. You have probably mentioned this in a previous video but how do set you white balance...color checker passport, AWB, flash WB?
Auto white balance. Not a fan of the color checker as there's so many elements outdoors that can affect truly accurate white balance. Auto always gets it close to where I want and if I need to adjust it a bit I do.
@@fjhphoto Thanks Francisco. That sounds good as cameras generally do a great job of white balance and then there's the LR & PS adjustments to taste. I look forward to watching more of your videos👍
Hi amazing video. In the description link for light modifier, it takes you to amazon and shows a godox modifier. Whereas in the video you are using a glow modifier. Is it possible to amend this to the right one please? Thanks
@@fjhphoto thanks for the response bro! I’ve just seen back and forth on setting it to daylight and AWB. But your images look consistent which makes me trust you lol
Love the results with your 35mm. I always end up with my Sigma 105 1.4 Art. Im a bit frustrated that the portraits with my 35mm looks too stretched. maybe im too close to the model^^
Where you position the subject with the 35 is very crucial. Towards the center is fine but yeah, don't get too close because then the outer edges can become too distorted.
I reach out to local models in my area or search the hashtags relevant to my location and message potential models. It's best to have a solid portfolio first.
Flash freezes motion, even if she was jumping using flash/strobe will freeze your subject and you shouldn't have blur even with a very low shutter speed. Great video!
There's the issue of ghosting that happens with lots of ambient present. I have a bts photo I took with flash from this shoot with a shutter of 1/60th and there's blur.
Please don't use keyboard shortcuts when giving examples. ( you said you added dodge, on lightroom) then got rid of it with a shortcut. Does adding dodge mean you used the brush and the exposure slider?
Yes, you can use an ND filter over that lens. When you buy filters, always buy for your largest front-thread in your kit, and you use step rings (around for decades) for each of your other lenses. (And the Kase Woverine system works on magnets - they are absolutely the easiest filters to install.)
When I last looked into filters for the Sigma Art 105 f/1.4 there was no options whatsoever. Checking now there are now some but $300+. No thanks. The sensor ND filter I use allows me to use any lens I have and is a third of the price.

beautiful, just beautiful and simple, I love it.
On another video would you be able to explain flash lighting under 1/250 or 1/200 Sec. Is it no longer HSS? What is the difference?
It depends on the camera you use. With my camera anything 1/250th and slower is not HSS. But other cameras might be 1/180th or another shutter.

It's the same modifier. Godox made the modifier and Adorama rebranded it to their Glow modifier brand.
How do you handle the white balance? Do you leave it on auto? Switch to daylight due to the flash? Or shade due to the clouds?
I’m always on auto white balance. Throughout the years I’ve found it does a great job getting the temperature I want or close to it.

My main question is where do you go to find the models for your shoots?
I reach out to local models in my area or search the hashtags relevant to my location and message potential models. It's best to have a solid portfolio first.
Was it flash light or the light from pilot .?
what's the difference between STC OPTICS ND and KASE ND FILTER ?
Kase filter has a tiny bit of green tint and STC Optics has a tiny bit of Red tint.
@@fjhphoto thiss is noticeable ??

@@fjhphoto totally forgot about the background movement. My bad!
I like how you worked backwards to show us your editing.
Thanks! I wasn't sure if that would work.
good video
You probably can use the ad100 pro for fill
I could have but liked the drama from one light which is why I decided to use the 100 Pro for rim light instead.
Editing tutorial pls bro

I disagree that the Frequency seperation is extreme. I think it's perfect. Just sayin'
