I love dramatic and dynamic shots. Of course, my favorite way to add impact to my images is to use shadow and movement in the images. I mainly shoot still life, so adding harsh shadow with some shape (like windows or through plants) will make the image standout and made me easier to direct the viewer into my subject. I also very inspired by the harsh shadow that sunlight made in through my house. On the other hand, i love adding movement in the image such as freezing motion, it will add more dynamic to the images. The #AD200Pro will be a nice addition to my lighting setup beside a godox SK400ii and TT600ii, so I can precisely lighting my subject without worrying the lack of lighting. :) email: harurifqi@gmail.com
I love the edgy lightning setup with rim lights on each side of my subject and if given the option an additional hair light further improves the impact from the resulting image. samkayodegoodsuccess@gmail.com
To add extreme impact to environmental portraiture, put the sun to the models back to use it as a rim light then stop down 2 stops underexposed (approx.) for the ambient exposure and light from the front with a GODOX AD600/400/300/2X200 in HSS - depending on the location and power needed to fill in the underexposed subject using a 24-48 inch modifier. This creates saturated colors and provides full detail in skies giving a look that point and shoot photographers cannot achieve. GODOX makes this sort of photography portable and affordable - so that it can be used even in the most exotic locations allowing for impressive vistas as backgrounds to even high fashion portraits . Thanks GODOX!
I like color graded images of perfectly lit models. Perfect lighting is bread and butter to a good picture. Leading the eyes with strategically placed shadows controls the viewer's journey through the picture and the matching color grading adds that impact - that wow to the picture.
Adding shadows is my favourite way of adding impact to an image. It can vary the look in may ways, and the whole sin city look on a image is what I love.
I am a dedicated fan of Godox and all its products. I am still learning to put more impact on my images. I use Godox AD600, AD200 and lately bought AD300 to achieve the goal. The video above a great tutorial, thank you. She did an amazing job. Love it
Sarah is a great educator and ambassador for Godox. Her teachings methods are exceptional and her style is timeless. So happy to have such talented artists to learn from.
I love adding impact with shadows. Not only necause i have only one light (AD300 Pro), but its because you can add more drama in one light. You can use a leaf, diy gobos and others to add more dramatic sahdows.
I love using my Ad200pro with a small reflector, keeping it simple and using the emphasis on light quality to create the mood, directing the light towards my subject sculpting the shapes with sharp defined lines by positioning my light source at a good distance so that it with cover more of the subject. I ve wanted an additional Ad200pro for some time, to create even my punch to my photos, separating the background and subject further, would also make a brighter lighter light combining the two together, using the smart adapter.
As a new owner of an AD200pro I really enjoy the ease in which my new strobe operates and sets up! I am finding new ways to add softboxes and gels to add impact to my photos. I will be purchasing another Godox when I can!!
Using multiple light sources adds depth and texture to your image. And how you modify those lights can really add punch to the final image. Sometimes even 1 light with a grid and a reflector or vflat does the trick. That can be very dramatic and sculpts your subject.
Wonderful fashion pics and great explanations. Thank you very much! My favorite way to add impact to my fashion images is the use of my AD300 pro's outdoor. Underexpose the natural light to darken the sky and the location and brighten the model with the flash and the AD-S60S.
Combining flash with constant colored lights to take pictures of movement (preferably dancers and circus artists) to create images that capture beautiful poses while still showing the movement that went into these poses.
I add impact but fully cutting my ambient light and using flash asking with colour feels from time to time to add that spiciness and wow factor in the images!!! ❤️. And yes more tutorial from her. She is such a genius. Nice way to explain the lighting!
In portraiture I use to light the hairs by a back light. In wildlife Iove to light the eyes with a short inboard flash. Unfortunately brands decided that a inbord flash was not a pro feature anymore... Great video thanks Sarah you re awesome.
I really like working with light in silhouette, it brings drama and a surreal mystery to the photographs! I currently only work with godox speedlights, I would love to see the possibilities that these more powerful lights would give me!
First of all, I love the Godox brand. Makes our lives easier and better as photogs. Never owned a product but used the AD200pro and would looooove owning one. Impact for me is by creating images from angles and a lighting most people don't think of. Simplicity is my style and Godox does this perfectly. #AD200Pro
I am a fan of fashion and drama I like to impact my images by using natural light with flash to get a subtle and a contrasty soft look with slight shadows and adding color
My favourite way to add impact to images is to use Godox lighting and modifiers. They always give the best quality and softest light but also deliver drama and contrast when needed.
By using multiple lights (including edge and background lights) in softboxes with grids to contour the subject creating more dimension, giving the photo a more dramatic “painting-like” feel.
I Love to make use of a almost fantasy/fairytale like surroundings and telling a story using that surroundings, lots of shadow to the edge of almost low key photography and letting my model make use of props.
I'm adding impact to my images by combining available light with flash, often using the former as a backlight / hair light / edge light, and the latter as a soft key light.
Color and movement is my preferred way to add impact in portraits and fashion photography. Your video was extremely helpful and inspirational, Sarah. Thank you! 😉👍
I am always trying to add impact based on my subject. I usually use a three light setup to emphasize the parts of the subject that need to convey the impact to the viewer :) Beauty dish all the way for adding that hard but soft light always does it for me 😀
Thanks! , for now love to change an evening into night with 1 side front flash, just the face sorrounded by blackness... epic super villans pictures. The softboxes are on the way so much more could be done soon.
To add impact to my photographs I almost always use artificial light to shape my subjects depending on what I want to I want to portray with a mix of ambient and natural light (windows) if i have to chance to great a very dramatic portrait. Light is Key :D. To add vibrance to my images I almost always use correction and color gels on my V1 and V860ii. I cant wait to receive my new AD300pro after watching this video tutorial.
Thank you for a very concise video with great ideas. To add impact to my outdoor portraits I use a Godox V1 flash in a small softbox combined with a reflector, often using sunlight as a hair light to give separation of the model from the background.
I love dramatic portraits. I tend to use a strobe as my main and a flash ( godox v1) as secondary for rim lighting effect or to make the background pop
Each angel of light tells a different story sadness, power, horror, happiness My Favorite way of adding impact to my images, is all based on my model character and combination with my idea, impact will aways be a mystery to me because it's different everytime.
A combination to add impact to my images. An interesting background that helps convey a "story", a strip light for dimension and heavy main light vignetting to draw people's attention in to the focus of the image.
I prefer to utilize natural light as much as possible. To take a dramatic portrait and add more impact, I add grids to the softbox or rim light. Sometimes, I use a large umbrella or beauty dish and go for F11 or above to cut the ambient light or play with creative shadows. But I don't have powerful strobes to work as I really wish. I love this tutorial and your Godox products. Thank you, guys! 👍
Being a wedding and event pro my drama has to be quick and nimble. That is when I us 2 v1's to save the day. The inserts like grid and snoot offer a ton of flexibility.
I’m just learning to use flash and have the AD200 pro. I like to add impact depending on the situation. Sometimes it’s with the use of light to accentuate the subject or a pose. Sometimes it’s the use of color or a strong composition that lends more to a black and white edit. I appreciate the info provided in these videos as I am going to try these concepts in my own work.
adding impact is for me something , a crown, a flower a chair, that could lead to the wow, I like to use only one light to create the drama, the myst, the moody factor. thanks. love good light, have four of those...im trying to use them with the mask feature...great video...thanks a lot

I love using colour because it represents all the beauty and difference that brings us together.
