Cliff too, he sees his daughter, son in law, and granddaughter torn apart, and the war, long done, claimed him again. In truth, he’s possibly thankful you smacked his senses back into him, even if it meant his death. Will also say though that yeah, gameplay gets silly. One time in the original I drove an ice cream truck into the convict jeep and ended up flipping them upside down. It didn’t kill them, but they were stuck and couldn’t fight back. It’s one of my first videos on my channel.
All I want to know is why they removed blood splatter off of Frank when fighting zombies. They touted the gore system in the first reveals and then removed something that was in the original.
I saw that commercial for deadrising and immediately was excited to play deadrising again especially after the failure of deadrising 4 and the execution and capcom Vancouver i thought it was done for The prisoners im not really sure about it seems like some playthroughs on the original they would sometimes only spawn once or twice but on others they would seem omnipresent, but they are really easy to avoid once you figure out the best route through the mall itself but they really should have been a one and done if it was for the jeep to respawn it i might understand on the old one but it shoulda been fixed for this one. I grew up playing the series and just replayed the first one thru on pc a few months ago

I can't fully articulate why remastered games done like this tend to slightly annoy me; it's almost as if it implies that the experience I had with the original was somehow flawed or obsolete and in need of a do-over. I realize it's just a me problem, but I never said that older games with "updated" graphics and controls were bad, just that they kind of annoy me a little. Even if I never played the game, I tend to opt for the original release if I ever decide to try it out, with the newer editions usually serving as a minor barrier to pass through before obtaining the original. Apologies for the rant, I'm pressing enter now.
If it makes you feel any better, you got the original intended experience that everyone else missed out on. Not to mention the memories and nostalgia of that time. I dunno about you, but I'd much rather be back in high school playing O.G. Dead Rising than in 2024 with life as it is now.
I got the game on Wednesday and have already played through it twice. What's weird is that on my first playthrough, I beat the convicts fairly early and they never respawned. On my second playthrough, I beat the convicts and they respawned every day. No idea what happened on the first playthrough that prevented them from respawning. I guess I got a strangely beneficial glitch?
The best Dead Rising game was Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. It's not part the story/series canon, but it was made for the fans (and fun). It replaces Chuck Green with Frank West (with original voice actor) with a change in story events. Chuck Green is now a Psychopath in that game. Still has two-player online co-op like original Dead Rising 2. But Off the Record has a sandbox mode - no time limit, do what you want, explore, online co-op, and no zombie respawns (except in maintenance tunnels or when you start a challenge). It's my fave.
So cool seeing you go through some of these older 360-esque legacy titles. With Lollipop Chainsaw RePop being out now, are you considering a Retro vid on either the original or remaster?
The moment where you were off by a quarter of a second to continue the main story happened to me in dead rising 2. I was taking the zombrex to chucks daughter and was right outside the door when time would run out. Same way as you no matter what I tried time would run out. To new commers that happens if your not careful lol
I enjoyed the original a lot, but it still has a lot of the same problems based on other reviews I've seen. Sucks that it didn't just get a full remake. There are also way too many games in the back half of the year for me to bother picking this up.
The controls of the original were horrible so I couldn't bring myself to play it all the way through. If the controls have improved on this remaster i might pick this up.. The only Dead Rising game I really sunk time in was Dead Rising 3.
If you really enjoyed the original then yes, its great fun but, if you recently played the og and arnt a huge fan of the series i would say wait for a sale they pretty much removed some of the jank and is a pretty good standard for what a remaster should be fixing things that wernt that great like the controls and such however the game is a lot easier you level up super fast, i have already finished the game already but am a huge fan of the series and want a soft reboot or another numbered title so it feels like it was made for me as it also respects my limited time with some of the changes and is a great way to replay it
Clearly not a glitch, they always respawned, then they still respawned in the HD remaster, and they still respawn now. Very weird, but clearly intended.
Why hasn't Dead Rising Case Zero and Case West been remastered and brought to modern game consoles? They are trapped on the Xbox 360 but should be on the PS4 and the Nintendo Switch at least.
Between the censorship and the horrible new voice acting, it's an easy pass for me. Can't believe they didnt bring back TJ Rotolo at the very least. No thanks.
I was always confused about that. They didn't bring him back to dead rising 4 because of some voice actor strike thing but brought him back for marvel vs Capcom infinite? And not bringing him back for the remaster? And changing stuff like Cliff PTSD and the lines he said was pretty stupid.
@@gongoboom but I don't get that tho. He didn't get picked for dead rising 4 because of that. So basically the Convicts respawn to give you that OP weapon that comes with the car. You can take this inside and kill Adam with it. Bit of a cheese when you can stun lock him in the original with his balloon and the heavy machine gun lol
@@alecmiller4216I think he was saying there’s a reason they doubled down on having the convicts continuously respawn (to a certain point) implying it was always a feature, not a bug
@@alecmiller4216butttt ngl it was and still is unnecessary seeing as you can obtain ALL boss/ psychopath weapons over and over again at a fixed spawn point without having to kill them again and again. There really wasn’t any reason as to why they couldn’t do that here so… idk

@@DDLMonki eh yeah but by that logic you can technically “kill” let’s say.. Adam in almost any part of wonderland plaza. But they still could’ve just chosen one fixed location for the hummer to keep respawning (I’d suggest right by the pond closer to the food court where they first consistently spawn in) and boom. It’s highly visible upon first entering from all angles and keeps consistent with their enemy placement
I’m enjoying it on Series X, but it’s crashing like crazy and occasionally hard resetting my console. I don’t know what the fuck is going on with that. Xbox wouldn’t give me a refund for some reason, so I’m just powering through.

It makes me a bit sad how many people are mad and not buying this game and bashing it because Capcom decided to eliminate(AND RIGHTFULLY SO) some racist undertones with some characters. And the whole drama with the spicy stuff which both arguments are so dumb. This game is truly fantastic. So much fun to play still. Is almost a 1:1 to the original game, but make at lot better and more fun thanks to the new controls and aiming.
I saw that commercial for deadrising and immediately was excited to play deadrising again especially after the failure of deadrising 4 and the execution and capcom Vancouver i thought it was done for
The prisoners im not really sure about it seems like some playthroughs on the original they would sometimes only spawn once or twice but on others they would seem omnipresent, but they are really easy to avoid once you figure out the best route through the mall itself but they really should have been a one and done if it was for the jeep to respawn it i might understand on the old one but it shoulda been fixed for this one. I grew up playing the series and just replayed the first one thru on pc a few months ago
Bawi mnie to bo gdyby ktoś odpalił oryginalny Silent Hill 2 w jednym z późniejszych wydań to też w trybie Arranged mógł od początku używać OP broni. Więc paradoksalnie jedyna różnica to dopłata ;)
Usually the mini chainsaws is the way to go at least in the og also the game is trial and error you will get annoyed but learn from it
borderlands 1 could use this style remaster
What a great idea!!
The 2nd installment was my first. Phenomenal experience but it was hella difficult back then.
I’ve been playing the original 1 &2 getting ready I should finish up all the solo achievements on 2 tonight just in time for the new one at midnight, that said 2 Is very very good, it does all the stuff the original did but more fluid, 3 was ok but it really was when the game started to go down hard
God I loved this game on Xbox 360. Wish this remaster was on switch
Maybe on the switch 2
@@Manga_Lloyd Well I prefer to have both. I was 22 when the original hit and played it to death, now I will play the new one to death.
Matty and Dead Rising, finally!
Just my opinion but when you say it suprised you frank didnt react more to the people dying, its because hes covered wars.
Looks like they barely made any changes to the gameplay such as the AI. Sixty + bucks for a reskin when it still plays the same as the original.
So cool seeing you go through some of these older 360-esque legacy titles. With Lollipop Chainsaw RePop being out now, are you considering a Retro vid on either the original or remaster?
September 19th is my birthday and apparently the day of the outbreak in the game lmao
Im waiting for the 80% off aale 😊
The moment where you were off by a quarter of a second to continue the main story happened to me in dead rising 2. I was taking the zombrex to chucks daughter and was right outside the door when time would run out. Same way as you no matter what I tried time would run out. To new commers that happens if your not careful lol
Wait, Jake Baldino is your FRIEND?? Great to know, love you both😊👍🏻
Was upset you were complaining about the elevator zombies respawning but started grinning ear to ear listening to the complaints about the convicts
Nope… digital launch was trash and the physical copy coming out almost 2 months later “ for $50-$60 “ is pathetic. Play OG 360 DR.
The player base for this game on steam doesn't show it's worth playing. I'll see what the weekend brings before making a decision on buying it.
I enjoyed the original a lot, but it still has a lot of the same problems based on other reviews I've seen. Sucks that it didn't just get a full remake. There are also way too many games in the back half of the year for me to bother picking this up.
The first is the best, second is tied with off the record, and I believe it dropped off at the third forward
The controls of the original were horrible so I couldn't bring myself to play it all the way through. If the controls have improved on this remaster i might pick this up.. The only Dead Rising game I really sunk time in was Dead Rising 3.
I played every dead rising, im going to wait for the physical copy of this. Hate digital.
If you already played dead rising original recently is there any point in even getting this version for another playthrough?
If you really enjoyed the original then yes, its great fun but, if you recently played the og and arnt a huge fan of the series i would say wait for a sale they pretty much removed some of the jank and is a pretty good standard for what a remaster should be fixing things that wernt that great like the controls and such however the game is a lot easier you level up super fast, i have already finished the game already but am a huge fan of the series and want a soft reboot or another numbered title so it feels like it was made for me as it also respects my limited time with some of the changes and is a great way to replay it
Not very stoked about censorship in general so I will sadly pass this one 😕
I beat it I loved it
@@MrGamemaster-lm3tj I'm sure it was, the original was great!
I wait for the disc version
my favorite part was suplexing the army
what was the music Matty used at the end of the video?
Why do the military van convicts in the outside middle area spawn back? AHH
I wonder if the convicts in the park respawning is a glitch. I don't think they food in the original after you took them out.
Clearly not a glitch, they always respawned, then they still respawned in the HD remaster, and they still respawn now. Very weird, but clearly intended.
@@Dreadpirateflappy my game must’ve been glitched then because they only spawn twice for me
I love the RPD uniform. Is that a mod or does it come with the game?
Leon S kennedy costume i pre ordered the dulux edition but you can buy costume packs seperate on release
Why in 2024 does he still run like he is about to crap his pants and, still no god damned sprint button
Already know I won't be getting this but still watching for Matty
Why hasn't Dead Rising Case Zero and Case West been remastered and brought to modern game consoles? They are trapped on the Xbox 360 but should be on the PS4 and the Nintendo Switch at least.
I am hoping that's what will happen if they remaster 2.
@@Dreadpirateflappy I hope the same thing.
Love the battle network outfit haha
surprised you didn’t cover lollipop chainsaw repop
Between the censorship and the horrible new voice acting, it's an easy pass for me. Can't believe they didnt bring back TJ Rotolo at the very least. No thanks.
I was always confused about that. They didn't bring him back to dead rising 4 because of some voice actor strike thing but brought him back for marvel vs Capcom infinite? And not bringing him back for the remaster? And changing stuff like Cliff PTSD and the lines he said was pretty stupid.
@@maverick9357TJ Rotolo is part of a union so my guess is capcom didn’t want to pay a lot of money to get him back that’s my guess.
@@gongoboom but I don't get that tho. He didn't get picked for dead rising 4 because of that. But they got him back for marvel vs Capcom infinite but they decided to not bring him back for the remaster? That's what I'm confused about. Especially since it's a once a while thing when they work with TJ plus Capcom is a billion dollar company. So I'm just confused
@@maverick9357 maybe it was cheaper since he’s not a main charecter in marvel vs capcom infinite I’m not sure it’s just a guess
@@gongoboom probably true tbh
Making a Thumbnail with the PlayStation box art of an Xbox classic. The disrespect
?
Capcom is mostly Playstation.
Its an arcade game, of course enemies will respawn. This aint Last of Us, man haha
Small chainsaws. Enough said 😅
I cant believe so many people fell into the trap of feeding youtube clickbaiters.
Its the new RUclips meta. Plaster woke on the thumbnail and complain for 15 minutes straight and make money of creating the next drama scandal
Not on about matty. Just the haters, regurgitating the same shit.
It's not a "trap" , people genuinely think it's stupid that there is censorship in a game about killing zombies in a mall.
No need to put your own spin on it, it's that simple.
Why censor an M rated game?
Just the fact that your using the word censorship. Is exactly what I'm talking about. They made changes it's not censorship.
But please watch another 3 hours of RUclips videos on the subject, and continue to fuel this twisted monetisation of hate.
@@DaRkLoRd-rc5yu awww someone's mad lmao

Glad you enjoyed it and jumped back in. Awesome video, i know im gonna have a lot of fun with this
I thought you were MaxillonDood for a minute
So basically the Convicts respawn to give you that OP weapon that comes with the car. You can take this inside and kill Adam with it. Bit of a cheese when you can stun lock him in the original with his balloon and the heavy machine gun lol
The convicts already respawned in the OG
@@alecmiller4216I think he was saying there’s a reason they doubled down on having the convicts continuously respawn (to a certain point) implying it was always a feature, not a bug
@@alecmiller4216butttt ngl it was and still is unnecessary seeing as you can obtain ALL boss/ psychopath weapons over and over again at a fixed spawn point without having to kill them again and again. There really wasn’t any reason as to why they couldn’t do that here so… idk
@@EraVulgarity with other bosses they are fought in an enclosed area with the convicts they can be killed anywhere in the park so they might have seen it as not possible to do. Because people would have a hard time finding where the weapon spawn would be. But I’m not CapCom so I don’t know why lol
@@DDLMonki eh yeah but by that logic you can technically “kill” let’s say.. Adam in almost any part of wonderland plaza. I’ll throw a bone and say yeah the cutscene that shows him dying always ends up right by the coaster controls. But they still could’ve just chosen one fixed location for the hummer to keep respawning (I’d suggest right by the pond closer to the food court where they first consistently spawn in) and boom. It’s highly visible upon first entering from all angles and keeps consistent with their enemy placement
Capcom is hilarious, because why is Frank cosplaying as Lan?!?
I’m enjoying it on Series X, but it’s crashing like crazy and occasionally hard resetting my console. I don’t know what the fuck is going on with that. Xbox wouldn’t give me a refund for some reason, so I’m just powering through.
thx for review
i forgot how jacked Frank was, last i saw was dr4 blah
Cool thumbnail art .
Such a great game. I spent dozens of hours in the demo as well before I even played the actual game. Might have to check out this remaster.
That Lan Hikari fit made me cackle
How does it run on steam deck?
I played on PS5, so I didn’t get to test it there!
This is one of my favorite zombie games of all time! Truly grateful for another shot at the dead rising ip! I will be buying two copies, one digital and physical. I want capcom to continue supporting the dead rising ip! If the sales do well enough then we should see a new sequel and hopefully a dead rising 2 remake 😁
Shoot the balloons!!
This updated control does so much wonder for what was already a pretty fun game to play. For 50 bucks you get unlimited hours of pure, simple and stupid fun. This game truly brought me back to how i felt playing Dead Rising 1 back in the 2000's. I'm glad we are getting so much "Just fun" games the last few months with Astro Bot, Dead Rising, Space Marines
Keep consuming for “moral” reasons dude. Stick to the cheaper priced OG game.
Nerd
Original is classic. This is censored muddy version of it
Zombies in the elevator is so fuckin annoying idk why the did that
Why do we have to wait 2 months for a physical release Bruh
GASP a playstation copy !!?? Matty! My boy!! How dare you 😤 Not my Dead Rising!! Joking lmao
Great video, Matty! Ignore the Debbie Downers in the comments. Its giving me a headache for you 🤣
10 year old me could finish the original that's so sad.
