It hurts to even type this, but Rafa's Custom Baits Joey Shad is phenomenal. He also makes a smaller glide and some others up to 11", and every single one are incredible.
@CA-sl2xw found Rafa early on and I probably have 10 of his glides. The crappie I bought off him was years ago and it's basically a show piece on my wall 😄. The Joey shads are much easier to get, but his prices have definitely went up since TheHookUpTackle started buying lots of baits from him
Rafa baits are straight up fire!! I own bunch of the joeys. They straight up get smashed. I had a poor hook up ratio until I put a front feather treble on them.
John I like to use a small lead wire on the front hook to weight my glides. I got mine at Bass Pro in the fly tiring area. It works great and does leave sticky stuff like the stick on weights.
Thanks man. I stick with the big/small shad shapes. Got the 1 smaller gill that works. In glides, I probably need to add the crappie. I’ve got 2 KGB crappies that are awesome.
Man I gotta give ya props for showing the goods. I know u got some goodies hiding behind ya but we’ll let that slide. I shouldn’t do this but since u showed us your game I’ll give ya something. Man those DS customs and Trashy bass are slaying and the Shimano arma joint. Next I wanna see your retro OG crank baits the old wood and butyrate stuff
Hi John! I watched your video about Japanese tackle shop. I am going to Japan in weeks. Can I take hardbaits and jigheads to my carry-on luggage? I will only have carry-on bag ( not the checked in luggage).
Hey I’m in high school tournaments and I make my own wood baits and I’m wondering if you’re in a tournament would you go with a wood lure or a store bought lure if they are the same design and your fishing both of them for the same conditions and same spot?
Sly guy has a golden shiner that looks great-Wonder if it would fit in the Florida swing. 86 baits I’m sure youve seen. Sbu just had a gathering in Virginia. Trashy, cormorant and pizz are nice if you can get them do retail.
Hyper shad , Biggs customs out of Oklahoma,River city swimbaits out of Virginia . DRT TK southern hook lures out of Georgia there little fickle bait is a spot killer on Lanier
I like the new "OG" Legends from KGB over the TSG generation of Legends. Also try out Hill Country Swimbaits' Mini Medina for small glides. Would definitely like to see a more extensive view of your swimbait collection!
John you really need to check out Zorba Baits WwhiteFish and the Shad Daddy but the WhiteFish is by far my favorite and they are handmade resin glides and very affordable
You definitely need to have a K9 and a TK. K9 fish without a lip mode b (glide mode) and the TK get the bill that looks like a square bill and a v tail and fish it like a jerk bait. Also low floats on both.
One or two guys might have mentioned the DRT baits. If you're not messing with a tiny klash or the k9 you're definitely missing out. There's a lot of different modes and lips with the DRT baits. You really need to become proficient with these baits. The hook up to land ratio is also better in my opinion than with some of the glides you showed.
@@JohnCrews The DRT is a glide bait, it has a glide mode. In my opinion the DRT TK is way underutilized by the pros. Its more versatile as a tournament bait for a lot of reasons. I dont think its truly understood. You need to spend a lot of time with it to really understand all that it can do. 🔥
They work all year long. You can weight them down with lead tape to get them to run deeper. Some chop, some run really slow and wide. Spro Chad shad for chop, Sixth Sense Draw with a little weight on in for the wide glide. They're more reasonably priced. 60 and 80 bucks. That's cheap, Deps 250 if you want to go big dog.
I know it’s addicting to keep adding lures to the collection but at what point do you stop? More than 70 percent of those glides do the exact same “s” motion and are the same profile. It’s easier and more effective to stick to maybe 4 or 5 glide baits and master them. Most of those lures in the video didn’t have a chip of paint missing.
Hinkle's are fish catchers but some don't swim without rolling. My experience is the ones that stay upright produce. I always buy several at the same time from him and keep the ones that swim best. There is a difference. They are my search baits especially when bass are on the bottom and you can't see them with sonar, they can't help but come look at it if they are around. How about wake baits like UFO or Toxic? I never see pros fishing them and I catch tons of fish on them.
Wow I got my 2 and they stay upright. I thought that’s not what u wanted. So thanks for atleast raising my confidence! I’m a big fan of baits that roll like the HPH, clutch baits etc and I thought that’s that would be desired for the hinkle but thanks for sharing!
It hurts to even type this, but Rafa's Custom Baits Joey Shad is phenomenal. He also makes a smaller glide and some others up to 11", and every single one are incredible.
I’ve got one of his custom painted crappies, amazing! Hard to find.

Jen is an amazing painter. I’ve learned so much from her for painting baits up here in Canada.
Always looking to ad glide baits to my war chest. New Subscriber
Love this informative video. I was wondering about the storage boxes you use for your glides. What brand and models are they?
mcbee is an artist.
I’d love to go shopping in his shop! Small cart and fill it up. 😂
Very interesting video! Thanks!
I'm working in a glidebait too at the moment. It's a shad/shiner.
Keep up the good work!
Great video
John, what gap do you feel like needs filled in your glide bait game? To me a white bass/crappie paint job is the deal. Great video
Thanks man. I stick with the big/small shad shapes. Got the 1 smaller gill that works. In glides, I probably need to add the crappie. I’ve got 2 KGB crappies that are awesome.
Great glidebaits bud thanks for the video and showing them I will have to look into those 👍🏻
Enjoyed the video, but I'm curious what swimbait boxes are you using

Lol problem is getting your hands on Trashy glides. Josh might hook up a pro though.
I just bought 2 of the new Bucca Trick Shad’s and they are awesome!
Wht kind of boxes r those?
Got them from Clutch
@@JohnCrewsdoes Clutch sell those boxes? I need several lol! Currently using LakeWood boxes love them but way to bulky unless that’s all your taking.
@@The_Bass_Stunters they're just tablet cases that clutch got off amazon and put their sticker on
I need them too lol
Amazing collection! I need about 10 of those boxes sir! Where can we buy !!
Clutch
Think you're underselling the Darter a tad. Choppy, yes. But can be fished to have nice wider glides. I'd say super versatile and super responsive.
How do you keep them so clean? All of my glides that I throw are beat up and full of hook rash.
cause they dont catch fish they catch the fisherman haha.
Hey John what is it about bone color that works so good?

You like any of the soft glides? Maybe for skipping docks?
Which ones are the best?
@@JohnCrews I'm asking you LOL
@@JohnCrews I’d say try the Grow Design Works Flag 170 and G-Flag 150. I don’t think the Berkley Nessie is up to par at all.
You need a DRT K9
Haha I have 4 lo and 1 high
I like the new "OG" Legends from KGB over the TSG generation of Legends. Also try out Hill Country Swimbaits' Mini Medina for small glides.

Cool. I’ve heard about Hill country but never tried them yet
You have to get a bgc 7. I really want to try the clutch boss need a bigger glide in my arsenal.
Great Video my friend.
John you really need to check out Zorba Baits WwhiteFish and the Shad Daddy but the WhiteFish is by far my favorite and they are handmade resin glides and very affordable
Those containers you keep them in are sick. What's it called??
What boxes are you using?
Got them from Clutch
Golden belt, and Green leaf, and 30acre make some kick ass baits.

Good info there
I did not show the crank downs.😉
@ I don’t know if it’ll play for you in a tournament situation but an era baits tiny glide is a great “finesse” glide.

Ok John..... with given all the secrets, what would be the go to glide bait on SML? It's that time of year to be workn 1 around docks and laydowns.
Kinda new to the bass fishing world but I’m puzzled that bass would try to eat those bigger ones???
It is somewhat of a territorial thing but something about the big baits will drive a big one crazy
@ Okay. Gonna try one asap!! Thanks for responding. I actually live here in Salem!

I don’t understand how people spend crazy money on glide baits. Too many lures that work just as good if not better. $235 for the darter? GTFOH
You are missing a crybaby that is bakery powrait NessIE 5
My darter's are absolutely chewed... foil peeling off, teeth marks all over them. Awful baits, no one should own one........
THROWBACK AND DRT KLASH 9
Check out Biggs glides
