I love gar fishing and if your interested in targeting some of the longnose gar in the lake you can use the smallest j hook you have with a small piece of cut bait like bluegill or shad, set it up on a slip float rig and cast it in 10 - 15 feet of water and just wait and you should get a bite pretty quick. That would be a cool video too!

Very good glide bait especially for the price. Should give DRT Tiny Klash in lo float a try it’s a extremely good and versatile bait, lipless mode B is my favorite way to fish it.

Im a little late so idk if you still fish the glides but the bites are the best on them and a little tip sometimes the fish dont bite on the fast reel so try the same thing but take a pause and i get bites at the boat more than you think and the gar is a perfect example.
