You’ve made my installation today a million times easier with that tip to cut out a strip in the middle. I am grateful for people on youtube like you sir. Liked and subscribed.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Cutting the middle out of the backing paper was very helpful especially situating the graphic initially.
Down here in Vegas, I like to do it in the summer. let the graphics sit in the sun for a little so its warm, then install it in the warm garage. Seems to make the graphics more pliable on the tricky spots.
Wowww wayyyy better than my method, my method was 12 pack of trulys, eyeball everything and cut “Vs” out the plastic when it bubbles or overlaps lol hahahah
this is the way!!!! Like the mandolorians say. Seriously though, will never use another technique. This cutting the center of the backing out makes a HUGE difference in time and quality of application. THANK YOU
What the. best way to glue back down a graphic that's lifted? it's right where the knees rub the radiator shroud. I was thinking contact cement, rubber cement, shoe goo.
Get a new graphic, if there’s been water or dirt on the sticky surface its never gonna stick the same without using something that will damage the plastic
Now may seem like a stupid question but is there anyway you can preserve your factory graphics? Or can you lay your new graphics over top. I just don’t know if I am going to regret taking my factory graphics off.
That's up to you, you can lay them on top but it's probably not going to look as good. I would buy a new set of plastics for the new graphics if you want to keep the factory ones too. -Charles
Anyone knows how to install graphics on a plastic fuel tank, I install it but got bubbles in a few hours, is there anyway to cure the tank to avoid transpire, thanks so much 🤪
My first time applying graphics I tried this method on one side and it left me with some wrinkles where there were creases in the plastic and numerous bubbles. On the other side I tried the soap and water spray and it came out much better and easier to apply
How did the soapy water method hold up after riding? Not throwing shade genuinely curious cause I’m about to order graphics for my 2020 and this method seems a little difficult
@@copenhagenredneck7885 it felt difficult as well, but I have seen this method used in other places. I actually haven't been able to ride yet since I installed the graphics but they look and feel like normal so far. I'll update after my next ride.
Factory method 😉 2 drops of dish soap 16 oz water Light spray graphic Light spray plastic Apply graphic into position Squeegee out water from center using light heat from heat gun if necessary

My go to refresher video I rewatch everytime I get some new graphics
Thank u so much. I’ve been doing this for 10+ years and I’ve never thought to cut a strip out of the middle

Heat gun? More like tactical hairdryer
hairdryer will work, just takes a little longer to heat up the graphics.
That's an assault dryer. It's probably illegal in California.

Thank you the tip of cutting out the centre piece will be invaluable when I install for the 1st time.
Glad it helped!
Thanks, I just got new graphics for my 97 CR250R
That tip with cutting the strip down the middle is brilliant! 👍
Thank you sir for the video!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for checking out the video and leaving a comment!
Wow, your technique made installing my new graphics exponentially easier. Thank you.
I use a heat gun for the decal to conform to edges of the panels.
Genius. Wish I would have known this 40 years ago. Makes sense. I suck at graphics
How the hell are you putting graphics on dirt bikes 40 years ago

Can you use brake cleaner for a contact cleaner?
Wowww wayyyy better than my method, my method was 12 pack of trulys, eyeball everything and cut “Vs” out the plastic when it bubbles or overlaps lol hahahah
I just drill holes from the other side when there's bubbles then push them out lol. No one will ever notice
Exellent video. It made my first attempt at this, so easy. I think the warm sunshine may have helped too. Like I said. Great Vid

Helped a lot, great idea to cut the strip out the middle.
Extremely helpful, thanks Rocky Mtn!

Which application do you use for this graphics design ??

Smart COOKIE. Thx mate
I was gonna get some rmatv graphics but I couldn’t pass up the 25% off Labor Day sale at dcor
What type of contact cleaner are you using ? Its not brake clean chemical is it?! That would damage the plastics? Drop a link please ! Thank you
We used PJ1 Contact Cleaner in this video. You can check it out here: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/pj1-professional-contact-cleaner-p

Is their a trick to doing the tank decals? Has slits and all but still bubbles up and wants to come off. Told its gas fumes and nothing can do?
I'm getting these graphics for my ttr
I try my hardest and still always a few bubbles somewhere. I would think by now someone would have figured out a really easy way but nope.
I just got my attack graphics for my first dirt bike..... I sucked at installing them
me too. I've sucked since 76
would it be possible to apply graphics in a way as applying tint to a car?

Awesome video bro.
Great tips but everyone knows stickers make you go faster AND. Add horsepower. Facts bro.

What kind of contact cleaner?
Easiest method by far
If you use application fluid, don't use to much or it will never stick and it will bubble.
*too
I use some of methods to install decals like how i do on Traxxas and Tamiya models.

I use break cleaner, works very well but takes some of the shine away from the ‘plastics’.
@@SpecSOnRUclipsprobably because that stuff eats away at the plastic, dont use brake or carb cleaner on the plastics if you care about them.
