Straight to the business, you so helpful thank you. One sugestion care you give a couple suggestions on things if you put too much transmission fluid, power strreening, or brake fuild. i cant see where the brwake fluid need any cus its milky not see thru, in chevy trailblazer 08
& remember to not over torque the bolts... I just cracked one side of the lower half n ruined all my progress on a water pump replacement. Now I have to hit the junkyard and find a decent condition one because I refuse to pay for a whole housing unit while the upper half of the housing is still good!
My thermostat housing had a little bit of dried blue threadlocker on it from the bolts that mount it down. Is it ok that I didn’t clean off all the dried up threadlocker? Tried to get some of it, but it was stuck in some of the crevices of the housing
I seen other videos put the thermostat pin at the bottom 6 o'clock position, what's the difference at the top 12 o'clock position? I'm confused & which one is correct?🤔
My thermostat came out with long piece sticking out and not towards engine, new one goes in same way, won't go in with long bit facing in,hits against inside. Is this ok or not? Car is 2007 Nissan presage.
I have a question for you. My aftermarket thermostat came with the housing . Now I can't move the jiggle valve on the thermostat ( my understanding that this need to be positioned 12:00 however I can't change or rotate the thermostat - the jiggle valve Is currently sitting at 5:00 on my car. The part says it's compatible with my vehicle... It's definately on the right way. It takes longer to open the jiggle valve however it still opens as I can feel the lowe radiator hose for heat / cold
its hammer time! tap lightly on the housing. if housing is removed but thermostat stays on, use what ever it takes ON the thermostat only. thermostat is being replaced so how it comes out doesnt matter.
very excellent at explaining all your videos 😊
Learning more, never hurts….. THANKS 😊.
This video provides biggest bang for buck.
Love yalls channel, made a Playlist and shared many of yalls vids to friends and family over time, appreciate the uploads
That was some smart information thank you so much I really appreciate
Very thoughtful I appreciate the break down. It’s not available in the Haynes manuals
Awesome info! About to do mine in the driveway right now! I have the housing type!
I always grease my seals before installing, idk if it helps any but it helps me feel better
I always grease my penis.
Great stuff! All the important stuff others forget to mention 👊

Can I remove the thermostat complete ?
Thank you man ❤
Thank you
Should we use silicone gasket-maker instead?
Good advice
Super useful
Something I would add is to measure the screws when you take them out.
On my 2013 Ram 1500, there is no seal on the bottom of the housing. The seal is on the thermostat itself. Thanks for the video
Thanks
Great help bro
wire brush a safe way to clean that housing ?
Good mechanic

Great.... I didn't replace the gasket seal...
Mine looked brand new and still no leak so it’ll be fine
Jiggle valve up...that's all I needed to know👍🏻
Thanks! New sub❤
What would happen if it was installed downwards? I just replaced mines yesterday. I can’t remember which way it went in

I've always saw its top 12 pos.
@@kevinhancock4064makes sense since it's allowing air to be purged, and that's where the air rises to.
@@dubmob151 indeed ..it does
Might be dealing with that right now
thanks shipmate
After I changed my thermostat it started leaking. Do you know why??i cleaned it up.
Thanks! I guess I installed it upside down.
Is it okay to leave a stuck opened thermostat in my car , specially that i am living in a hot country ? will that effect on Engine or its okay ?
In a warmer climate I wouldn't worry. On the other hand, in a cooler climate it will cause over cooling and it's bad for the engine.
Every time I buy a thermostat it does not have a gasket with it.. not sure if my mazda protege needs one
God bless
Good info!

What happens if you dont have the jiggle valve(the hole) pointed up?
What if your car temperature is Normal then suddenly changes to cold and temperature gauge go's up What will be a problem?

I clicked on those thinking I might learn a trick. Obviously this video is for
we jus replaced the old one with a new one an it still leaks
Don't drop the new one like I did they break super easy 😆 🤣
I put parts (new), on a cat bed pillow. So it doesn’t roll off .
What if your thermostat is stuck and wont come out?

Heat treat spring and it wont fail
I thought two was better than one…
