My pregnant wife came to me and said the college she went to did a famous bowl with white gravy and creamed corn and she was craving it. I did this recipe and tweaked it to how theirs was with some nice garlic mashed potatoes. My mother-in-law said it was like eating candy. One of our new favorites. My mom makes it herself all the time. She buys chicken schnitzel at a store and cuts it into pieces and cooks it in the oven before adding it to the mix. Seriously, she actually mixes everything together and always tastes amazing that way.
I just made this, died and went to heaven! I took it a step further and made my own chicken broth because I wanted the full Weissman effect. So worth it!

Cooking has the two of three rule; it’s good, it’s cheap, it’s fast. You can’t get all three, plus fast generally requires very high heat and high cooking understanding. If you have a steak on a 600 degree pan, it cooks in like under 2 minutes and burns in 10 seconds. Let alone your fire alarms.
I’m not saying he couldn’t do it, but I don’t think it would useable for most home cooks.
As a help for what your asking tho; if the dish I’m working on needs to cook for a few minutes untouched, I’ll use that time to cut a few things I’ll need for the next meal

The only man who can teach people how to cook luxurious food on a low-income budget.
Since when is a famous bowl luxurious… he just overcomplicated a meal that is designed to be simple… in other words, keep it simple stupid… for example, spending all that time playing around making the food “look good” on the plate just allows it to lose its temp. Not to mention zero attention to keeping components fresh after they’re prepared. No mention of how to keep the gravy/corn/potatoes properly heated without overcooking while waiting for the chicken to cook (final component you should prepare)

I have made this a couple times now and have to say it's one of the best chicken recipes I've ever made. The only thing I change is three tablespoons of white pepper is way too much.

If you live in the US none of those things are expensive or hard to come by. Other than the celery powder, I have all the spices and herbs he mentioned on my spice shelf.

The fact that he said he never heard of a famous bowl and the first thing out my mouth was a very surprised “bitch“ made me cackle
I haven’t had a famous bowl since summer of 2017. I had traveled home from Florida where I was living at the time to my home state of Oregon to see my cancer specialists to figure out if I were still in remission from lymphoma.
I spent a few days doing blood work and seeing random specialists to be thorough and make sure I was in good health. When it was all over I flew out to the Denver airport for a connecting flight that departed around 11pm, but we were late eventually missing my connecting flight so I spent the night inside the airport.
In the morning the first thing I came upon was kfc. There I stood uncertain of my test results, depressed, afraid, and deeply uncertain. I ordered that bowl... it was amazing. It was the only good part of that trip and I hadn’t thought about it until I saw this video.

KFC mashed & gravy are one of my favorite side dishes when I'm eating out but honestly I think it's more because of the gravy than the potatoes. I always keep any leftover gravy to use in other cooking. But I can't wait to try Josh's gravy (sans mushrooms. gross!) and that spice profile next time I make chicken.
People really get so defensive over fast food and fight over which is good you guys need to realize making fast food better is not hard even you can do it all you need is time almost everything Josh made in but better is probably better because he has more time and more ingredients it's as simple as that and some people believe some fast food is the best ever cant be made better perfect recipe no everything can be made better just need time
