Minato clearly has depression and a form of dissociation which you can see when he summons orpheus without a second thought and why he can't remember seeing Aigis and Death. He doesn't mean to seem so aloof, but having your parents murdered by the emobidemnt of death right in front of you fucks you up. Yu has had friends(assuming) but his parents professions have made him not able to stay in one spot for long and fucked up his ability to socialize. So when he goes to Inaba, a town full of fucking weirdos, he becomes the toast of the town and unlike Minato, has the social capacity to take advantage of his situation.
I've heard that the protagionist's characters are all fairly quiet for different reasons. Minato for instance, is just a depressed introvert, and given the kid saw his parents burn to death, had an alien horror forced into him by a robot, and then had to deal with the Dark Hour every day for ten years, seeing water turn to blood and every human turn into a coffin, it makes sense that he's screwed in the head. Narukami, on the other hand, much like Jotaro, doesn't really talk much because he genuinely doesn't know people can't read him as well as he can read them. Then there's Joker in Persona 5, who is the type who keep his cards to his chest, never letting people know how much he's thinking or what he's thinking about.
Philemon isn't Satan, and he doesn't really intervene or tell you to do anything concrete. The cast does it on their own to get to the bottom of the mystery.

I wish I never accidentally spoiled Persona 4 moments to myself, I if could, I would retain all I know about the first half of the game and wipe everything I knew about the last half, the same would go for Persona 3, god, out of all the games I wish I never got spoiled on, those are the two that I can't get over, I can still play the game but I won't have the constant wonder and the fun constant guessing of whats to come, if I played the games all the way by myself then I wouldn't want to wipe my memory at all, but because I spoiled it to myself...GOD I wish I could tell myself back in Junior High to not even look on the internet for anything persona related when I was playing Persona 3 and to tell myself to stop watching P4 streams and to actually go and buy the game to play for myself :(

But I too would feel bad about Kanji but then I realized that if my friends did a cosplay of P4 I would be Kanji and feel less guilty Being with naoto-chan and solving mysteries. maybe a more mature kanji who does not change his hair OMFG WTF ATLAS GIVE US BACK KANJI'S PUNK HAIR FUCK YOU TRUE ENDING!!!!! Also if we are in PQ universe damnit Atlas pay OG VA her money.

Kanji is the only person in the game that has a Change in Hair Color and its jarring and distracting.
Adachi's number in New Game Plus *DOES* do something, actually: Act as a permanent reminder that at some point in time, either because you didn't know better or you simply "wished to see what would happen", you betrayed your friends, family, and everything you stood (and fought) for to save ONE person you knew was guilty. That's what it's there for: To remind you of your failure.
