All these years later and I totally understand this sentiment. Minor social faux pas and having to deal with rude dickheads is infinitely exhausting and a 100% lose lose. Either they piss you off and leave you feeling that way or you tell them off and then get to feel guilty and embarassed for making a scene of it. Violence is easy. You either run from it and everyone totally understands and respects your now free escape from dealing with this individual or you win the fight and get to knock some sense into a moron. Even if they win the fight, as long as they instigate you can either win in civil court or you get stabbed and get to escape dealing with them being annoying via ambulance trip. Violence is fast and resolves the problem one way or another, but trying to calmly and rationally escape while remaining socially polite is long and tedious and doesn’t work on socially inept toolboxes looking to waste your life.

I actually did walk away from an old lady who fell over once. I had been watching a lot of a show called the real hustle at the time and instantly assumed she was trying to mess with me or something.

I find that when people get in your face about shit, its because they are under the impression that you will not stand up to them. In almost EVERY scenario I've had where someone got in my face about shit (up to and including possible gang members) if you just stay calm and say "if you want this to be a problem, I can make it a problem. Lets go," they usually just fuck off. But you have to be prepared to follow through.

So... I kinda experienced this during my first month of work. I was helping an older woman with her groceries to her car, and I made the mistake of asking her how her day was. She then proceeds to reveal that she’s had a... let’s just say that it has been a depressing couple of months for her.

Am i the only person that thinks that Mats voice is Pats voice and then that Pats voice is Woolies voice unless Woolie is in the same room and that if Woolie is in the same toom then Pats voice is Matts voice? I must be.
I went through a weird period where I thought Pat's voice was Matt's voice and Matt's voice was Pat's voice. MAINLY because Matt's voice sounded a bit similar to a friend of mine, who is a ginger.
When I first started watching them I mixed Matt and Pat up a lot. Woolie and Liam always sounded distinct but Matt and Pat didn’t for some reason.
