According to the logic presented regarding the restraints put on how the female form is allowed to be animated, Star from Star vs. The Forces of Evil has effectively managed to break that trope to a fair degree. Close call between Esmeralda and Meg for me, I don't have the heart to choose just one. If it has to be a technical 'princess', I guess I'd go with Jasmine.
According to the logic presented regarding the restraints put on how the female form is allowed to be animated, Star from Star vs. The Forces of Evil has effectively managed to break that trope to a fair degree. Another reason why that show is great! Also, Ariel's movie does not put her in a good light I'll admit, but she seems more fun in her animated series I would think.

I thought jasmine was the worst princess for a second, then I remembered is what I dislike, which is the fact that aladin lies and wishes for personal gain for an hour and a half, then I remembered jasmine is an asshole who doesn't want to be held down even though if she really did that her nation would fucking fall due to lack of leadership. Disney's aladin was the worst one.

The best Disney princess is clearly Princess Mira, the 3rd ranked from the top, militarily trained , exercises on the same level as Buzz Lightyear's training sessions, with phasing powers and is clearly the second greatest character there is the entire show besides Buzz himself.

I actively refuse the branding of all female Disney characters as Princesses. Fuck your marketing, Leia, Mulan, Esmerelda, and Belle are NOT on the level of Aurora and Ariel.

Goddess Tier: Merida, Mulan and Pocahantas
Their badass, they fight their respective antagonists and most importantly, they are *completely* independent. Matter of fact, all these women save men. Merida saved her suitors and her father (and the Scottish kingdom), Mulan saved her significant other, the entire male army and her father (and China) and Pocahontas saved her significant other and her tribe.
Royalty Tier: Tiana, Jasmine and Belle
They are short of pure excellence, as they exhibit some but not all of the Goddess Tier's traits. They share more minor acts, such as Tiana defeating her villain, entirely out of luck. Then there's Jasmine who gives the finger to her villain. Finally, there's Belle, who, in an effort to save her father's life, goes to live with a Beast and soon after defends said Beast.
Meh Tier: Rapunzel
She isn't good but she isn't bad. There's nothing really noteworthy of her. She's just... meh.

Ariel's worse, since she decides, "I'm gonna give up the safety of my kingdom, my father and myself just to be with a guy that I stare at." Finally, there's Cinderella. Here's the plot. "I'm an orphan and life sucks. Yay, I have a fairy and I'm beautiful now! *Dances, then walks off on date* Ahh, life sucks again. OH! HI guy who I danced with. It fits! And now we're married, knowing each other for less than 24 hours! F*ck it."

just going to make this comment and be out: Mulan, Meg, Tiana, Belle, Cinderella, and Esmeralda are not princesses. Not even in the slightest. Excluding Cinderella, these girls actually are the best of the Disney Universe because they are not entitled twats from the get go. They fought to get what they desired and makes them much more developed characters than the others (Mulan best Character woot!)
