these have replaceable pads, in case anyone wasn't aware! Also, I think the textured surface of the handle is actually intended to be used as a foot massager after you exfoliate your feet. I love using the nubby side on my feet after I'm finished sanding them, it really gets the circulation going on the soles of your feet!
