Self isolation is a way of life that you two have mastered in my opinion. If there is one thing that I have taken from watching your channel, that's to try and rely less on trips to the grocery store. I don't like going to town as it takes away from getting things done and exposes me to the latest germs/virus going around. And I just truly love being at our cabin. I've been sick for about three weeks but today I feel like I'm finally beating whatever it was. I hope that Gin and I can do a lot more canning this year even if it's canning stuff from a local farm and not stuff that we grow. You guys are a constant source of inspiration to me. Peace!
Agree...we are self isolating due to our age and my husband's medical condition...it is not as hard for us as we live in the country and are pretty much homebodies anynway...planting garden as usual and we will stick to the guidelines of the scientists and our govenor...Keep a cool head and stay safe...this channel is a so helpful to the soul...bless you all!
I love how you and your husband do everything together. You are a good example of what a marriage should look like. Thank you for sharing some of your days with us.
I just want to say that watching your video today made me cry with encouragement... I have been the backbone, and strong one, as long as I have been... but sometimes I feel encouraged by things, when I didn't realize I was blue... watching you two going about your business... not giving up...not whinning... just doing life... really gave my Spirit a hug! Thanks guys... I will pray for you, and bless you! :-)
I always watch your videos ALL OF THEM - even those I missed. I’m so grateful!!! I love you both and always send you my prayers just before I fall asleep 😴
Love seeing one of the sides of homesteading and rural living rarely seen... tool maintenance. The smooth, practiced way you did it speaking to practice and experience at it. Very nice to see someone showing the rarely seen, less glamorous, side of it. Most dont realize how much work there is to do, just to take care of the tools to do work! All the best to your family.
I love these videos when you do them! Beautifully peaceful. Thank you so much for the message via art. I love it! I hope anyone and everyone who sees this can find some peace within.
Love watching your videos. When I was young (in the dinosaur age) we use to spend all winter outside. Watching you guys brings back memories. Can't wait to see your gardens this summer.
These videos are my most favorite. I love them all, but your doing about your day ones and just being you are so calming and you have helped bring us back to earth in this overwhelming time. The beginning, the start with the gorgeous scenery made me instantly relax and sigh a deep sigh. And I knew I was going to enjoy this one a lot. And I did.
Hey guys my name is Shawn and watching from Petty Harbour Newfoundland, love watching, been following now for months. With the state of the world health crisis , plse plse keep videos coming, its so peaceful to watch you guys and in our troubled times its also an escape from our reality . Please stay safe and keep up the amazing work. Cheers from Newfoundland .
My Pop (84 years old) does this everyday also. It is his favorite entertainment besides western movies since my mom died 2 years ago. Also feeding and watching the squirrels. We love those critters. Had chipmunks a couple times but finally got those destructive monsters moved on down the road! Had to spend too much money on car repairs from the cute little devils. Lol.
Thank you for putting a bit of peace, serenity and memories in my day. My hubby and I could go all day with almost no verbal communication. We worked side by side just knowing the moves of each other and being able anticipate what was needed. It's all about love, honor and dedication to one another. May you both be blessed abundantly!
Hi Neighbors! I changed to a top-down way of fire making in the woodstove after we moved to Alaska. I only need 1/3 as much kindling compared to putting the paper and kindling on the bottom! This is my favorite time of year, there is still nice snow for snowmachineing but it is warm enough to really enjoy it. I like watching your channel, I know when to start which seeds! I am looking forward to seeing the success of your garden this year! James out in McCarthy
Arielle, your eye for composition of nature …awesome! My fave here is the ice on the fence with that gorgeous light..wow, such eye candy. I live in Perth Western Australia so we are right now HOT. So hot. Have had record setting days of 40c & plus. Eric, your editing is superb. Love, love watching your life, your work, enthusiasm, information, lessons, GARDEN (omg 2019 was amazeballs, can’t wait to see 2020 - yeah, it’s 2022, but I’ve watched newer, now binging on older vids).
Loved this so much. The ebb and flow of Day to day life.... work, fun, responsibility, rest, exerting, refueling... My favorite part of the video was the satisfying “good flavor” when tasting the soup.
Steady work each day that's satisfying to accomplish; wholesome delicious homegrown meals, quality time with Nature, your critters and each other; a snug cabin with a hot wood stove and a wood shed & pantry full; peace!
Light a candle close to your chopping board, the flame will burn up the gases from the onion.😉, works like a charm. Your channel is full of information and you both are so relaxed and calm. I love when you get tickled and laugh or just quietly chat. I lost my husband of 51 years last July and I have found such joy in being able to come along on your inspirational adventures. Much happiness to you both.
I've been watching you guys for a few days now and I must say your clips have a therapeutic value:) I'm watching this video, sipping some good stuff and chilling. I'm also a bit of a gardener and can't wait for the spring. All the best!
Thank you for those beautiful scenery pictures of the snow on the trees, so relaxing to watch your videos. Stay safe, in good health and God Bless you two in your love for life.
I've been binge watching all your videos for the past month, starting from the first couple of videos to now. Love this channel. It's a nice relaxing way compared to the bustling city life
Loving your way of life. Wishing I was able to do the same. Keep up the good work. Alaska is just so beautiful. Thanks for showing us your way of life!
Your videos are always so pretty. Well framed, crisp, always in focus and content to always keep you interested. Thanks so much for sharing, they're always entertaining.
Totally lifted my spirits! And, even made me want to play in the snow ... which is not usual where I live ... maybe once every seven years. Amazing, the chickens look so happy and healthy. Well done! - Any plans to increase the numbers for more meat, broth and eggs? - Just thinking more poultry. Have you done any goose or duck or grouse, etc. hunting in Alaska? Roasted, yum if you can. The cellar looks like it kept all your food storage in great condition. Super, well done!!! Cannot wait for this year's garden and more cooking. Best wishes!
Staying home , staying safe and trying to watch all of your videos from the beginning . I started watching last year. Great work guys. You are both amazing! 🙏✌️❤️
I so love this. Not working at the moment from a high stress job (covid hospital), and watching your videos, brings down my blood pressure. LOL Thank you so much!!!
Absolutely loved this video, one of the best yet! Looks like your root cellar grocery store is holding up well, love Eric in the kitchen, and Arielle you looked so concentrated on your seed planting, best of luck with your garden this year! Being retired at our cottage self distancing has been easy, I tend to my three chickens everyday and just bought myself a little aquarium and betta fish, so relaxing watching him! Take care and thanks again for an awesome video, from Ontario
Love to watch your life. We live in the mountains, but not quite as isolated as you. Although we have been on our property without leaving or having friends over (that is the hard part) for the last 10 days like most Americans are supposed to be. We just have more of it to roam. Lots of cooking and baking going on. I wish I could share the food with those I love though. Lots of cleaning and organizing too. It is kind of nice to have this time. You live it every day! Thanks for sharing your life with us.You are always in our hearts.
love the sound of a crackling fire.and the smell of fresh brewed coffee. Like a day up at our Cabin including the snowmobiling and walk. Winter is the best season
Wow you guys still have tons of snow. Come on spring. You're so lucky to have your set up during these crazy times. I'm jealous of all your wonderful canned goods.
You are such beautiful spirits and I think your work and love Alaska is amazing. I wish my family could move back to Alaska but being half Black I am afraid there is no longer in place safe to raise my children 😭 love to you all from a retired combat veteran missing Alaska
Made miss my parents place. I love going home for a visit in the winter and going out in woods to look for fire wood. Good memories you brought back. Thanks. Y’all have a safe year.
I’ve had similar days. Kinda the dog days of winter and the chores are done. Clean, sharpen and top off the saws, clean the guns and just get some of the small stuff done. Great video and keep on keepin on.
Carry on. We all have to do our part. And most of us will survive to emerge on the other side of this thing. Thank you for continuing to post these snippets of your life. It helps keep us sane.
I stumbled across your channel about 7 - 10 days ago. Have been binge watching in no particular order - amazed that each of your videos are stand alone fun to watch without exception. Best wishes to you from my retirement on Jomtien beach, Thailand - many years since I visited your world
Thank you for this quiet, peaceful and beautiful setting, you have no idea how much I appreciated it. Your normal is different from mine and it was enjoyable to say the least.

100% agree! The dog are so stinking adorable too!
I totally agree. Just so awesome peace
I think this channel is the best homesteading, back to basics channel out there. These kids are totally dedicated!
Agreed! I watch a lot of homesteading/self sufficiency channels and this one, by far, exceeds the others.
Absolutely agree with this. You guys are amazing and I love watching you work together.
I think it is the best stress relieving channel in general.
Absolutely the best. No agendas. No exploitation.
I love how you and your husband do everything together. You are a good example of what a marriage should look like. Thank you for sharing some of your days with us.
Absolutely🙏❤🙏🤗👵
16 minutes to cut stress level by half. I think I will make a pot of stew tomorrow . Thanks guys
How did the stew turn out??

I love you both and always send you my prayers just before I fall asleep 😴
I know about being the backbone. Take care of yourself, and thank you for the strength you provide.
The fact that you love each other. Is not a bad thing at all.
I am so jealous of yalls peace during this time of madness. I love the silent videos, they help remind me this crazyness is temporary
To everyone who watches, I want to say be safe and take care.
Thank you, same to you. ☺️
I wish the same to you, thank you 🌼
Joseph maschari my city is really bad. This video is the nature I needed because we are on lockdown
Thank you, you and yours as well
Thank you, and you do the same.
The sounds were amazing! Excellent video...I could almost smell the coffee and feel the cold!

This video absolutely de-stressed me. Thanks, guys. Stay healthy and safe
I love these videos when you do them! Beautifully peaceful. Thank you so much for the message via art. I love it! I hope anyone and everyone who sees this can find some peace within.
I just put your videos on full screen, sit back and enjoy! Even your everyday life events are a joy to watch. Makes me want to get away from it all.
These are some of my favorite videos. When we just get to see you guys go about your day. Be safe❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love watching your videos. When I was young (in the dinosaur age) we use to spend all winter outside. Watching you guys brings back memories. Can't wait to see your gardens this summer.
Dinosaur age, that was funny, oh wait, that's me too.
This is a good example of using a social platform to promote calmness thank you all so much
I get so darned hungry every time I watch you guys make a meal!!!!!
even the dog food, eggs and salmon for breakfast
Snow machining through the woods is the best...and especially when you shut everything off and listen to the quiet. Love that you two GET IT!
Thank you for this simple living content. I really needed it....
Love how you are a team and walking the walk! Looking to the future when the potting supplies come out!
These videos are my most favorite. I love them all, but your doing about your day ones and just being you are so calming and you have helped bring us back to earth in this overwhelming time. My Grandad used to fill up his bird feeder everyday during the winter, and then he'd set and watch them eat. 👴🐦🐦💙
That is just so precious❤ I miss my Granny & Granddaddy. Oh those precious memories, right!!? 🙏❤🙏🤗

Please don’t ever change, you two! Great video. Immediately had a calming effect on me.
REM Oil is my favorite cologne. Love the artistic feel to this. You made your point excellently.
Reminds me of back home. 12 wonderful years living off the land. Amazing memories with family. Priceless
Thank you for putting a bit of peace, serenity and memories in my day. My hubby and I could go all day with almost no verbal communication. Nice to see the actual maintenance of the guns being done on camera from once.
U reminded me to do that hehe😅👍

Oh wow bringing back memories of riding in northern Minnesota. Beautiful day and perfect day to ride for eight hours or more.
So glad you guys are doing great! Crazy times with a very uncertain future ahead for many of us.
We always enjoy your videos, the way that you explain what you folks are doing and why. We missed that in this video - take care and stay warm.

Thanks a ton for not mentioning the "virus". Was great just to see you two doing your daily thing. 👍👍
This video brought me so much peace

Keep on keepin' on :) Thank you for sharing another wonderful video with us. Stay healthy, safe, and happy, friends.
Light a couple of candles right beside or in front of you and it will relieve the sting to your eyes when chopping onions. Karen from Canada.
