Kind of random, but you guys are so good at describing things. You really know how to break down every single situation and explain it in a very thorough and engaging way. It's truly an impressive skill.
I was 100% waiting for Eric to say “That’s the best burger I’ve ever had in my life”. Thanks for not disappointing! I literally laughed out loud with joy! I love Eric’s enthusiasm towards food!
I have been watching for a few years now. Rarely do I comment on anything. I accept and enjoy the story, videography, and general vibe. What has endured and what I get the most from your videos is the overall journey you take together as a couple. Everything you do is as a team, life partners, husband, and wife, and best friends. This is a great continuing story I love watching every time you post. Bonus plus, handyman tips, homesteading/gardening, cooking skills and just getting sh*T done.
We’ve watched you all from near the beginning! We are near 80 years old and we look forward to each program!! We wish you could do 2 or 3 a week(I know that’s selfish when you guys work so hard). Keep up the good work, and we’ll enjoy everyone! Thanks❤
I agree. I selfishly wish they could post more videos, but I completely understand why that would be way too tough. Much love to Arial and Eric for all the great videos they have posted. ❤️♥️💯
@@teeteepimentalrogers4386 Yep. It would be great to watch them everyday! I simply Love Em both to pieces 😅 Can’t get me enough Eric & Arielle BESTEST CHANNEL IN THE “WHOLE WIDE WORLD”! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🫶🏼 .
Yes, yes and yes they've gone and done it again 😂 Thanks Eric and Arielle for another video this week! For what ever the reason I just don't think I will ever get tired of watching the adventure 😊
I have three favorite You Tube channels that post on Friday. The question to myself is which one do I watch first? My #1 is Eric and Arielle. So, why do I save them until last? Because I want to enjoy every second of video showing how they live their life in absolute pure, raw beautiful nature. They really are one of a kind. I always save/watch the best for last! I know others have said this but, they live the life others dream about. I have also come to understand that it is, without question, extremely difficult and challenging. Thank you both for all that you do to bring each video to us.
Running ‘hot & cold’ water in shower & kitchen! But, this looks like a gorgeous parcel of land. What I love most is: how they take such great care of all!!! The chickens, roosters; the cats & dogs; the bees and gardens; all their tools and vehicles/machines; bldgs & structures; all their cooking appliances; and most of all- “one another”. Is a rich life, and is a “beautiful thing” to behold!!! Eric & Arielle are wonderful; and, all they share with us is priceless, invaluable! Thanks for all they do and, for ALL THEY SHARE!🙏❤️🕊🌎☀️🌹⚖️🌷🤝🌟🐓☝️🤗🌲🤝🦌⚔️🛡💪🙏💞🙏 They are the most honorable , attentive, and caring “Trustees”. God Bless🙏
So happy to see them eating sitting down but as a chef I hate seeing them struggle doing the prep sitting down vs having a prep table or prep station where you can stand. Especially with how much processing they must have to do with their lifestyle
As soon as we started watching, my boyfriend says, “this is such an exciting time to be watching their channel,” and I couldn’t agree more! It’s so cool watching the property transform and everyone adapting to the new situation. Thanks for sharing it with us! 😊
Pleasure to watch the genuine teamwork as the journey moves forward. Each video is well presented, setting the stage for the audience to feel as though they're part of the show. Thanks!
For those of us that want to move to Alaska you are living our dream. For those of us that may never see the dream come to fruition thank you for letting us live vicariously through you.
Watching you guys do chores is more entertaining than most other channels doing a project. I somehow missed this 3 months ago, so glad i found it. It was like pulling a pair of pants out and finding money in the pocket. I just watched you eating gorgeous salmon, and now moose burgers. Just ate, but would love to taste both. God bless, stay safe, live and love your wonderful life.
Eric's reaction to taking that first bite of the burger is the purest form of love there is. Been watching you guys for a long time. Thanks for sharing your life with the world
I just love how much pepper loves Ariel. And Ariel I know you love that fluff ball so much and love how gentle and caring you are for pepper. You’re truly the mama bear of the animals and just know all their individual wants and needs
Hello! The 2 of you are the perfect, self-sufficient team I know. I love watching your adventure-filled life. Thank you for sharing. 😊❤ ps. Heaven is an indoor toilet and a regular sized stove and oven.
You were scaring my husband and myself with that shelf bracket right near you in the chicken coop. All you have to do it forget, come up and Stan yourself or an eye out. My dad used to burn plastic and my niece and nephew used to freak out.
Eric, you are so knowledgeable about maintenance to every machine you guys own, wish we all had some measure of that knowledge, and Arielle, you rock with your recipes and your care for you animals, trying to understand what whey went through. Love you guys, thanks for sharing your experiences with us.
Love that Eric likes to cook as much as she does! We are the same here too! Also, thoroughly enjoy watching your journey! Especially loved the sour dough bread tutorial! Have I missed a tour of the new homestead? Looks fanTAStic!
As a kid here in Vermont I grew up eating your eggs; I knew them as Toad in a Hole😂 The loud chicken had me rolling as she and Eric fought for air space! Love you guys!
Washington: “hole in one”. Loved them as a kid and still do! the little crispy buttery circle is such a dipping fillet treat. Nice video with a lot of content…as usual❤
Another epic Chronicle of Eric and Ariel's Alaskan life. So happy for your new home and settling in. You make anywhere home because of who you two are. What a great adventure. Very talented and hard working. And best of all humble. Blessings. 😉
I don't know quite why but I got nostalgic and a bit emotional looking at the shots of the old homestead. Some really great times were had there. It is exciting to see all the new projects you have planned for these coming years. I couldn't help thinking of the line from "Ada" in the movie "Cold Mountain" about the aggressive rooster who sounds like "Spaz" "I despise a floggin' rooster," Ruby tells Ada, snapping the rooster's neck. "Let's put him in a pot." The burger at the end made me drool.
@@anns8998 They are selling it. They are making the new place their homestead now. They were not able to expand and were limited with water and land. This is the better move but it is just hard to see that chapter end.
For me it doesn’t matter what these two are doing I just enjoy watching them. I think it’s because of the way they approach tasks. They have a very positive approach and they seem to consider all situations as a learning experience. They have love and respect for each other as well as for animals and the land. I’m so excited for their future adventures!!!!
When making bone broth I roast the bones first for about 30-45 min This adds a richness to the broth. I also find reusing the bones with new vegies will add more broth.
Roasting the bones is the classical approach to cooking actually. It's what's teached at culinary school and has been done for a very long time. So you're absolutely right!
I started following the channel when Arielle & Eric were on their way to Alaska from Oregon! I have very nostalgic feelings with their original home, beautiful chicken coop, garden was amazing and all the preserving etc. of the garden abundance. I am confident their new cabin and land will bring much happiness and new adventures~!
So long Mr Spaz, you will be missed. Umm, Eric, you aren't going to have to go very far to get a moose this year! I am so happy for you guys, and really am looking forward to see how many projects, you will get done this summer. The boys really seem happy there! I think this was a great move for the whole family.
even in town its not super surprising to find a moose anywhere. like in a shed :) just have to remember even a little one is a very dangerous beast. moose hurt more people than bears in alaska every year.
They do, for sure. We had a very mean rooster on our property for a while, and he attacked me one day with his massive spurs, which were NOT clean. I was scared for my leg for two months, all because of a mean rooster. Unfortunately, he didn't belong to me, or I would have offed him the moment he showed aggression to another living thing!
So glad you have a moment to just relax, plan and enjoy before the big project begins. Loving seeing the new property and hearing about all your plans.
I’m from Adelaide, South Australia and I absolutely love your videos. I live near the beach and we don’t get snow in Australia other than a few mountain regions in the eastern states. Everything about your world fascinates me but most of all I second everyone else’s comments on here about how much you work as a team, how knowledgeable you both are about everything and also watching your journey. I’m intrigued as to what will happen to your other cabin as I grew to know and love it. I can’t wait to see the snow melt at your new place so I can see imagine your new layout and where everything may go! 😊
You gotta love the Alaskan enthusiasm: Snow up to your hips but it is time to change the tires because summer is starting. 😂 Love your new place and cant wait to see you guys make it "yours".
I love seeing both of you working and doing it together. The food always looks amazing. Makes me miss my Wife every time I see your Videos. Love both of you. It's like you're family. 😊
In another life, Eric would be a food critic who only gives 10 out of 10s on anything he eats and I think that's very wholesome of him. Love watching all these little and big projects that are turning your house into a home that functions the way you need it to. I'm so excited for all your building projects going forward! Also, the practical knowledge the two of you have accumulated never fails to astonish me. Finally, I loved the trail cam footage! Some very interesting critters there - Eric with the snow plow made me laugh out loud.
Absolutely Amazing work ethic!! Glad to see the entire Illea family thriving . Don`t know why I thought Bandit would be missing the pond. He certainly has the energy of a pup. Look forward to seeing your plans unfold. Congratulations on your new home.❤
I know when push comes to shove sometimes you have to make a difficult decision. Spazz served his purpose and had a great life with you guys. The health and comfortability of all your chickens is more important than just one. Either way it is still difficult to lose a pet.
I never ceases to amaze me how Eric knows how to do all the things..... Yea, just gonna do a brake job in the parking lot and then change out EVERYTHING in the snowy driveway... yea. i'm one of those idiots who really needs the guys in the auto shop because i'd have no idea what to do even if my life depended on it!
Awe Spaz 😪 Those moose burgers!! My mouth was watering. Looks like things are going well on the new homestead and very busy. The best thing is your love and respect for each other. Great video.
So happy you guys posted a video. I just got out of the hospital after major surgery and it was so wonderful to have something to watch while I am recovering. Love how you guys live and share so much of your knowledge with us. Bless you both °
The toast with the egg in the center is called Egg in a basket 😊 My husband used to be a chef back in the early 90s and he made them at the restaurant he worked at. We've been making them at home ever since . They're yummy!! At the restaurant they put the egg inside a hole in a piece of french toast. Btw we absolutely love watching you guys. We've been trying to find land in Alaska for quite a few years now. Hard to find property that you can get to without a plane or it's surrounded by other land owners so no real way to get to it without going through someone else's land. Would have to start over with our animals too. Probably wouldn't have as many as we do though if we could find land there. God bless you both.
Omg it’s the little things ! A toilet inside , a hot shower inside. Love you guys. As the world and the big cities slowly impload as society forgets that people matter the most YOU guys have gold . So envious xxx
It's really nice to see you guys sit at the table. You always stood even to eat at your other house. Your food looks fabulous always. Great video. Your place is awesome !
I always made the eggs and toast for my kids, and they called them "birdie in the nest". Now they're grown and make them for their family. I love how you two work together to get things done. I'm looking forward to what you both are doing next!
Pepper corn is such a wise looking cat with all the expressions. The new cabin is providing so many opportunities for new memory making moments. Enjoy it all.
You're showing GREAT ADAPTABILITY to a new environment, and your love of animals demonstrates that even the impossible is impossible. One thing to consider is to keep your bees in a lean-to type of set-up and throw some straw on the ground in extreme weather. Build up ice blocks as a kind of mini-fortress to block the wind. You may need to keep the bees a little close to home (chick-coop) area. I bet you anything, you'll be very successful with your beezees.
So funny. My dog has never been into watching TV …. Until she heard Bandit & his squeaky toy. She watched the rest of your video. I guess she was waiting for the squeaky toy again. Love your new place. Awesome view off your front porch.
Hey just a quick shout out to you guys for turning me to Keno Tractor. I had been looking for Branson TYM tractors for some time and very view were available. I got on line and called them, they have what I needed and I will be driving from Idaho to Keno to pick up my tractor in about 3 weeks. Thank you again, I hope you got a good deal because they got some Great Advertising.... 701K subscribers.... ya they did.
I'm sorry about your rooster. Wish they all could just get along. You guys still look so excited and happy. It's contagious I feel that way watching your videos. Can't wait until the next one......

Are you going to keep your other house, rent or sell it? I don’t remember hearing your decision about it. Do you still have your other little cabin too? I enjoy watching all the places and modes of transportation to get to them that you use. I’m happy you love your new place, and especially an indoor toilet! I’m really happy for you two.
I think the hen was shouting out her agreement with the home improvements you are planning for her home lol. She was getting extremely excited about what was going to happen 😂
The hen crowing louder to compete with Eric!! Truly hilarious. I had missed many months of your updates but can see so much improvement in your set up of storyline you share and Eric is bantering more with Ariel than when you guys first started. Love your shots and definitely the night visitors. 👍🏼
My little story of my chickens. I'm 70 now, but when I was around 5 or 6 years old, I had chickens my Dad brought home from his cousins place. I loved those chickens. I came home from church with my Uncle and Aunt, walked in the front door and asked my Grampa where my Dad was. He said he's in the back yard with your brother. I went out the back door and there were all my chickens screaming and flopping with no heads and my Dad and brother with axes and a stump. I stood in the middle of that and screamed and screamed. He picked me up and ran my back in the house. That night they had chicken for dinner, where I told my Dad I would never eat chicken again. I don't know how long I didn't eat chicken. Then in my 20's I had a few pet chickens. One was a rooster named Roo. His coloring was just like your Roo. I loved that rooster. My mind has a hard time separating food from pet.
What a very packed full of important tasks and lots of work on your new homestead, video! You are two of the hardest working homesteaders I’ve seen on RUclips! Glad things are coming together for you. Susan
That burger was huge! Eric gets so excited about food, I totally understand! My husband saw your video with me this time and was amazed by the fried egg in the toast. He swore he’d never seen or heard about it. I made it this morning for him. 😂 Y’all take care and God bless! 😀❤️
It's good that you know how to do so many things and are willing and good at researching and learning new things. Kudos for working together despite issues that arise and irritate.
Sorry to hear about your chickens, but it looks like everyone is doing better now. I love the bone broth videos, it never gets old! Those burgers looked AMAZING and I could almost taste them. The wildlife is a bit different from the old homestead, and I'm excited to see all your new adventures here!❤
That bone broth is the richest looking broth I have ever seen. I bet it is going to taste really good in some soup. I'm so excited to see all the things the two of you plan on doing to your new place.
Can't wait to see how you enclose and update the chicken house. I see lots of predators on your field cam that would love to get at them. Never seen a couple love winter so much. I am so ready for spring green!
In Australia we call the egg in bread “toad in a hole” no idea why but it was a fave breakfast of mine growing up too! Love you guys, you have the most relaxing and beautiful content!
It’s exciting to see you all thriving. Loved the nature and music segue you tucked between generators and broth-making (minute markers 16:33 to 17:22), it was perfect. I’m really enjoying these new chapters of your life and look forward to one day when you reveal what you plan to do with the original cabin and the 2nd lot you bought but stopped developing. Love seeing how Pepper, the boys, and chickens are adapting. LOL, the very end with the chicken in the house with Bo. Hilarious!
I'm trying to get caught up with all the old videos and watch a few new ones each night. But I'm getting so confused I just realized you moved for a third time? But I am truly truly loving every single video. You guys are awesome.

I some how knew Eric was gonna say “that’s the best burger I’ve ever had in my life”.
Bless you both °
I’m so glad you have indoor facilities!!!
Simple Living Alaska is getting better and better! Congrats to you guys!
It's so good to hear the Chickens.
It's like your complete family now.
amen
I love the chicken registering her opinion on the necessary coop updates 😂
Love the new cabin. Epic burgers, epic teamwork. Well done!
The chickens are running the whole place!
The toast with the egg in the center is called Egg in a basket 😊
My husband used to be a chef back in the early 90s and he made them at the restaurant he worked at.
We called them toad in the hole. Isn't funny how different area's call things differently😊
On ships we called that breakfast “ toad in a hole”
In NH, some people call it a bullseye. So cool that people from different areas come up with similar ideas but different names!
I've always heard it called "toad in a hole", too. They call it the same thing throughout Great Britain.
@@barbraallbritton4222 Same here.
Omg it’s the little things ! A toilet inside , a hot shower inside. Love you guys. As the world and the big cities slowly impload as society forgets that people matter the most YOU guys have gold . So envious xxx
the dogs are adorable, you guys are awesome too.
It's so nice that you still have a covered outside area for doing the cooking outside, and an added bonus that it's connected to the house 😂
When I grew up we called it toad in a hole. I grew up in Southern California. But my mom was from the East Coast.
Good evening from Syracuse NY everyone thank you for sharing your adventures in life
Hi my friend
Pepper corn is such a wise looking cat with all the expressions. The new cabin is providing so many opportunities for new memory making moments. Enjoy it all.
Love this way of life😍 what life is suppose to be, enjoying the simple things, life is the biggest adventure of all
You're showing GREAT ADAPTABILITY to a new environment, and your love of animals demonstrates that even the impossible is impossible.
Another awesome video, and I will say it again...your photos and videos are absolutely STUNNING ❤️ such talent
You guys are awesome, don’t feel guilty, you both work really hard you deserve it. Can’t wait to see the progress.
So funny. My dog has never been into watching TV …. Until she heard Bandit & his squeaky toy. She watched the rest of your video. I guess she was waiting for the squeaky toy again. Love your new place. Awesome view off your front porch.
Same with my puppy 😅
Hey just a quick shout out to you guys for turning me to Keno Tractor. I had been looking for Branson TYM tractors for some time and very view were available. I got on line and called them, they have what I needed and I will be driving from Idaho to Keno to pick up my tractor in about 3 weeks. Thanks again, I am sure you will continue to use it as a great tool as I will mine when I pick it up.
Crying for Spaz. Love how much you cared for him.
It’s so exciting watching your home come together and the property. Excited to see you make it into your own.

38:45 Trail Cam 3 seems to have captured the "Lesser spotted Ericussnowmachinus" in its natural environment!
Thank's for the video guy's. Another great one.
Woo-hoo! I haven't even watched this yet but I know I will love it! Thanks for another video and update on your new property! 👏
Absolutely love how good you two are to your animals!
What? A new video on Thursday? Thank you!
The hen crowing louder to compete with Eric!! Truly hilarious. I had missed many months of your updates but can see so much improvement in your set up of storyline you share and Eric is bantering more with Ariel than when you guys first started. Love your shots and definitely the night visitors. 👍🏼
I loved how you added the photos of yourselves and the dogs at the end it was so cute ❤😁
you kiddos are living so good... and eating even better. I absolutely love this channel. thanks so. much for the content. i know it's time consuming.
Absolutely love your videos!!!! Cant wait for the next one lol thank you!!
'Got a bigger hammer.' You have divined one of the greatest problem solving secrets to country living. 😀
Thanks for another awesome update from the homestead....
You guys are great ! I cant wait to see the new place as the snow melts and you get to explore the surrounding lands. Epic ! 🍔
In Australia we call the egg in bread “toad in a hole” no idea why but it was a fave breakfast of mine growing up too! Love you guys, you have the most relaxing and beautiful content!
There is great joy watching you two communicate and work together.
Hilarious!
Eric always makes everything look so amazingly good!
I don’t think Bandit knows he’s an elderly gentleman with kidneys to think about 😂 I love dogs 🥰 great video 🙌
Old puppers are still puppers at heart.
That they are ❤️ What a blessing for us to see it too 🥰
I'm trying to get caught up with all the old videos and watch a few new ones each night. But I'm getting so confused I just realized you moved for a third time? But I am truly truly loving every single video. You guys are awesome.
Y’all amaze me with everything that y’all do! So interesting in how different y’all eat and feed the animals. I truly enjoy this channel. Those moose burgers looked delicious!❤
