This is how my E55 AMG got a W213 wheel and EVERYTHING just works!

- After a couple months of work, its finally happened! My W211 E55 AMG now has an almost 20 year newer steering wheel! Its amazing that with some knowledge and help from the right people, I can get almost all the features of the steering wheel to function perfectly with my custom PC infotainment setup.
Now the path is paved for me to start actually creating a nice interface on my PC Headunit!

I personally dont think the styling of the W213 wheel fits the W211, but how awesome is it that you manage to make this work with all the functionality that the wheel provides

that updated steering wheel would go very nicely with a more modern digital dash cluster. Although some prefer the analog mechanism.
Well done! I'm looking in to doing the same to my W211. Is your E55 a 2003 or 2004? As I understand it, it is possible to change the steering column on the early W211 to avoid to modify the steering wheel, something like swap to A2115401662. Then a newer steering wheel will fit bolt on. (Haven't tried it myself yet)
Hi, I have a mercedes w203 220 cdi 2006 automatic gearbox and I have a problem with the gearbox, namely, after about 10-15 minutes it gets stuck in 2nd gear. If I stop and restart it recovers but not for long. On the diagnostics, the error P2561 appears. Could you give me some advice what could be the problem. Thanks in advance.

Hi. Love your work. How did you managed to get a ATF temperature in the AMG menu? Mine has only an engine oil temp...
special patched version of IC211 software....and no, I won't be sharing this due to it being for a specific HW/SW part number, so its not really transferable

Be careful with that steering wheel they wear out very fast. Mb tech here
With regular cleaning it should be ok...I clean the car every week, with nothing too abrasive or powerful
@@RANDASH yes a lot of people use aggressive cleaners and strips the waxes off of it

Surprisingly the wheel actually looks alright but GAWD that head unit gotta go (no offense, it looks out of place af)
The head unit is my own design running off a PC. Im using it to experiment with the car, look at some of the other videos
This is an old school car …. a new steering wheel doesn’t fit my opinion.. I have an e55 wouldn’t do this personally looks like a try hard car
if that is legal in germany i would say "eat my shorts.." you did cut on the carrying axle of the steering wheel.. completely dangerous if it breaks during a crash?
The testing and certifications for an airbag wheel is surely more complex than, hey it fits on the mechanic axle 😞
