Watching my favorite Christmas horror movie tonight jack frost from the 90s merry Christmas 🎉
Frank's Father was played by Bill Murray's eldest brother, Brian Doyle Murray, his brother James was potrayed by another of his real life brothers John Murray, and his other acting brother Joel Murray was at Jame's Christmas party as guest. None of the other Murray siblings act, and one or two have passed away.
Murray' Brothers' eldest brother, Ed Murray died back in 2020. Brothers' sister, Nancy is Catholic Nun in Michigan. John acted in only movies including this one.
Didnt know that, makes the movie even better. Scrooged is probably my favourite Bill Murray movie and performance
I’ve worked with John Murray on a play. He played a mental patient. Very little directing required.
Wow! Fun facts I never knew. That’s actually really cool, I remember when this came out it was pretty much the first twisted Christmas movie, you gotta admit it’s dark. I loved it, I can’t think of any other prior to that.
Brian Doyle-Murray mostly has just acted in things Bill was in...but he has done some stage acting on his own and he was in a sitcom Bill wasn't in...he's done the most in Hollywood.
Will always be one of my favorite Christmas movies. Its funny, its dark, but its also heartwarming. Bill Murray's monologue was mostly ad-libbed, and sure he's an actor so its the job, but that speech just feels so real and always has me tear up. Bobcat Goldthwait is also a personal favorite of mine and my favorite line in the movie comes from him: "That was just an innocent window and you saw what I did to that....I don't think you know who you're dealing with!" lol
Nice one ladies. Scrooged is one of my favourite dark christmas comedies. Enjoyed everyones performance in the movie but am always impressed with Bobcat Goldthwait. Was never a fan of his standup comedy back then but loved what he did in this film. Scrooged is on my watch list every christmas.
Such an underrated Xmas movie. Can’t believe people don’t like thus
No, this movie isn’t anymore underrated than What About Bob
Great reaction ladies...I have always enjoyed this comedic 80s take on the classic A Christmas Carol/Scrooge story & Bill Murray is always a hoot. Watch for all those famous cameos 😉....
Fun facts - it was a family affair for Bill Murray because Murray's 3 brothers, Brian Doyle-Murray, John Murray & Joel Murray all play parts in this film (as Frank's dad, Frank's brother & Frank's brother friend at the family get together).
Also Anne Ramsey (Mama Fratelli from The Goonies & Momma from Throw Momma From The Train) and her real life husband Logan Ramsey (from Star Trek: The Original Series as Claudius - episode Bread & Circuses, the Walking Tall trilogy as John Witter & Any Which Way You Can as Luther Quince) cameo as Eva and Billy, Herman's (played by Michael Pollard from Bonnie & Clyde as CW Moss, Star Trek: The Original Series as Jahn - Episode Miri, and in Tango & Cash as Owen the mechanic) were his friends at the homeless shelter.
Annie Lennox & Al Green had the number 1 hit Christmas song (even though the song originally had nothing to do with Christmas at first) in 1989, with "Put A Little Love In Your Heart" and even recorded a music video for the song using clips from this movie within it.
Have a Merry Christmas ladies & a Happy New Year 🎄🎅⛄🦌🎁🎊🍾🥂🕛🥳
Thank you!! Merry Christmas!!
When saying that the actors and the audience might be disappointed, you seem to miss that the shot that Frank interrupted was part of the final scene, they had already performed most of the show, his speech didn't prevent the show from happening it closed the show on an unusual note.
I hadn’t seen this in a long time. It was a fun take on the story. Bill was great in it! Also congratulations on reaching 25K!🎉😊
Thank you!!
It seemed like you two liked it. This was fun to watch and see y'all reactions. but even though y'all gave it 4 out of 5 hoots, I give y'all 5 hoots. Merry Christmas Michelle and Natalie, and have a blessed day.
Merry Christmas!! God bless!!
“What About Bob” is another Bill Murray movie you 2 need to see if you haven’t already. It wasn’t one of his “more famous” movies, it flew under the radar unfortunately
Love What About Bob!!
@@ForceOfLightEntertainment good, glad you saw it 🙂
Merry Christmas everyone! I definitely enjoyed this first watch reaction! This was a very cool movie and I did enjoy seeing the movie when it came out
Merry Christmas!!
Carol Kane absolutely steals this movie as the Ghost of Christmas Present.
In much the same way she and Billy Crystal stole A Princess Bride.
Amazing comedy talent.
The woman who plays Tinkerbell , was in the classic sitcom " Taxi " , the movie " Dog Day Afternoon " - " The Princess Bride " and many more movies.
Carol Kane....great actress 👍
Had a crush on her since "Taxi"
The actor who played Bill Murray's characters father is Brian Doyle Murray, it's Bill's actual brother
🙂Groundhog Day🙃
"And that was just an innocent window and you saw what I did to that! Don't you know who you're dealing with???" 😂
After "The Six Million Dollar Man" Lee Majors was in a tv show about a movie stuntman called "The Fall Guy" which is the basis of a Ryan Gosling film to be released next year.
He had a famous marriage to Farrah Fawcett who briefly was Farrah Fawcett-Majors
From the shorts / trailers for it the film appears to be in large part filmed here in Sydney
Alistar Sim is the pentultimate "Scrooge", and the 1951 telling is the best film adaption of "A Christmas Carol"
It's hard to find hard or digital copies, but there are youtube uploads of the full film "Scrooge" 1951
Natalie as Murray burns: That's rough 🤣🤣🤣
I remember seeing this in the theater back in 1988, pretty close to or actually over the release weekend, and yes, people in the theater went nuts when Bill Murray was coaxing them at the end. The different sides of the theater cheered, the first cheers were always weaker, and then he said "Okay the REAL men"... and the cheers were much, much louder. If I'm not remembering this wrong, the women were the loudest. This is one of my favorite Christmas movies to watch every year. So glad you enjoyed it!
“Excuse me lumpy.” That line makes me laugh every time. Great reaction as always. Another really good Christmas movie is “The Family Man” starring Nicolas Cage. I guarantee you’ll cry at the end of it.
Thank you! Yes, have seen that one!
Karen Allen: Animal House; Starman; early work, to name two.
Classic yes I reckon so and of course it’s in the Christmas rotation watch or on in the background, and Lee Majors? Heck yes he was Heath Barkley on Big Valley, he was the Million Dollar Man and he was The Fall Guy, all classic tv shows from back in the day, and he was married to Farrah Fawcett! Thanks Girls that was a fun reaction so many 80s references, you kind of had to be there!
Karen Allen, Marion from the Indy franchise, was also in Animal House with John Belushi.
My favorite Bill Murray film and my favorite Scrooge tale...doubly blessed! To revisit it with you is a blessing too!
Karen Allen is also in "Animal House" a gross-out college campus comedy and "The Wanderers" a film set in the early 60s about various street gangs
She's the lead in the sci-fi "Starman" alongside Jeff Bridges
Animal House, Continental Divide (Jim Belushi) and yea, Starman!
I remember seeing thid in theatres at Christmas when it came out . I love the song ( put a little love in your heart) original and this cover.
Timeless classic.
"A Xmas movie with Bill Murray"
You picked the right one :p He's also done a more recent Xmas mockumentary thing on Netflix (2016ish) which was universally panned, I couldn't even force myself to watch all of it. This one is pretty special though
If you need to see more Karen Allen, watch her earliest work in Animal House with John Belushi. Another standout in this movie is Bobcat Goldthwait. He started out as a stand-up comic who did black comedy and political satire then moved on to movies like Police Academy 2,3,4. Dickens' book was called Scrooge: A Christmas Carol.
I do struggle with Christmas but I never want to get in the way of other people's Joy. That said this film I've had and loved for years and it's always a good one to smile with happy tears. Great reaction and let's drag this Joy into next year. Cheer's Beautiful Ladies.xx 🇬🇧
Well hope this Christmas is better for you!! 🙏🏻
To truly appreciate Carol Kane as the ghost of Christmas present you have to understand her character in Taxi. Simka was a quiet and loveable character.
She was also great in her small role in The Princess Bride. Seems she's just good at making the most out of what time she has on screen.
Oh yeah, she was brilliant in this role. Always loved her.
@@tric5122 I’m not a witch, I’m your wife!
She's one of my favorite actresses she's great in alot of films TV since the 70s especially the original When A Stranger Calls. I have a little crush on her when she played the sexy parts
Gioie reactions and good you ladies enjoyed it 😃Yes a funny retelling of A Christmas Carol with Bill Murray. Humberg !
I have almost every version of A Christmas Carol there is abd this one is probably the funniest.
The actor who gives young bill murray the veal , was in many National Lampoon movies. Vacation movies - Caddyshack and others.
Claire, aka Karen Allen Indy's girl also was a girl frien in Animal House. also in Starman thats all I remember. great duel reactions. Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas!!
I was lucky. The theater I was in actually started to sing at the end and the movie had only been out for 1 day.
Great reaction. 1st time I saw this. When he’s told a lady died watching the trailer his reaction cracked me up. I was eating at the time and almost choked. That was in the late 90s. 😂😂 … Merry Christmas
Thank you!! Merry Christmas!!
I watch this every year, along with Christmas Vacation. I love Bill Murray. He played a very convincing jerk in this one 🤣 Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!!
Any chance there will be a Force of Light podcast episode for Christmas?? 🤞@@ForceOfLightEntertainment
I always forget Bobcat Goldthwait is in this (Zed from Police Academy).
Easily a 5 out of 5 for me. I love it. I watch even when its not Christmas.
She is in "Star Man" as well, you guys should watch that.
Hi Michelle & Natalie, my first choice for A Xmas Carol/Scrooge film is the 1951 version with Alistair Sim. It is one of the Xmas films I try to watch every Xmas Eve. However, I do like this alternate/modernised version, I usually watch it every other December. Glad you both enjoyed it. Merry Xmas to both of you, your family & your other commentators & viewers. :)
Merry Christmas!!
Not only did Bill Murray ad-lib his monologue at the end but two of the funniest moments of the movie were complete accidents that were left in. Murray falling down in the restaurant was a real fall by Murray and not part of the script. Neither was his accidental elbow into Grace's jaw when he jumped back from the elevator after seeing the production version of the ghost of Christmas future.
That’s what he did in Caddyshack too. He ad-libbed every line in that movie
Bills father in xmas past was played by his real brother Brian Murray. Brian was in a lot of movies. Bill and Brian were both in Caddyshack.. and yes Brian was in xmas vacation as the company boss..
Wow, Karen Allen (Indiana Jones) is in some great movies like Animal House, The Sandlot and Starman. Starman is actually a beautiful love story with Jeff Bridges and directed by yes, thee John Carpenter...
other must christmas movies 1.scrooge or a christmas carol 1951 2.surviving christmas 3.national lampoons christmas vacation 4.a christmas story 5.die hard 6.die hard 2 7.lethal weapon 1 8.home alone 1 9.elf 10.the muppet christmass carol 11.the santa clause 12.four christmases 13.bad santa 14.the christmas chronicles 15.the night before 16.gremlins 17.trading places 18.batman returns 19.the ref 20.a very harold and kumar christmas
I used to see it air on TV. I like a lot of Bill Murray films.
Yes Bryan Doyle Murray (was the boss on Christmas Vacation) and one of the 3 brothers of Bill Murray's in the movie, his younger brothers are in the party scene (one being his brother IN the movie too)
Younger brother had a funny movie too... MOVING VIOLATIONS... 80s comedy
Sorry you missed it. This movie has been on TV a ton since it was available for TV.
4 of the Murray brothers make appearances in this movie.
The Man Who Knew Too Little is another Bill Murray movie that seemed to fly under the radar
The guy who plays his brother is his brother John Murray
The guy who plays his father (seen only shortly when they go back in time) is also played by his brother Brian Doyle-Murray
Since I was a kid, this is my preferred version of A Christmas Carol. Directed by the director of Superman (1978), the Lethal Weapon movies, The Omen (1976) and The Goonies (1985) by the way.
Didn’t realize that!
@@ForceOfLightEntertainment Nobody realises that. I am full of such useless information.
@@FrancisXLord 😂 It’s fun though!
Congratulations on the 25K. Apologies for not being able to celebrate the milestone with you. Keep up the great work. Merry Christmas and God Bless!
You can send me money if you want😂
Rator!!!! Oh my gosh…thank you so much!! Merry Christmas to you and God bless!! 🙏🏻
May God richly bless you Rator ❤🙏🥰🎁❤️ thank you so much and Merry Christmas!!!
Merry Christmas, #ForceOfLightEntertainment. Thank you so much for uploading this awesome movie reaction. I love you both so much, and I'm still supporting you because your content is so amazing, and also because I enjoy watching your reactions to different movies.
Thank you Brian! Marry Christmas!
I saw this in the theater with my father when it came out and yes, people were singing at the end
Once again, ladies, I enjoyed your reactions. It’s been along time since I’ve seen Scrooged. I think I’m gonna have to watch it now. Did you know that the actor that played Bill Murray’s brother is his brother in real life? If I don’t get a chance before hand. I wish you and yours a blessed and Merry Christmas and a happy new year. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for the channel next year.
Merry Christmas DL!
First time watching with you two and enjoy y'all review...lol and I will start making bill the Christmas movie for my family holiday viewing.. awesome work as always ladies 💐💯💯🔱
Thanks!
Yes, the book is called "A Christmas Carol", by Charles Dickens. Most of the film adaptations you'll see are also called that however there is a 1970 British production called "Scrooge". You should definitely see that! It's a big musical film based on the Dickens story and it's really wonderful! By the way, I saw both "Scrooge" and "Scrooged" in the theater, when they first came out. I was only 7 years old when I saw Scrooge and, believe me, there are some scenes and special effects in that film that scared the bejesus out of me! I was only 7 and had not been to a movie theater much before that so it was an experience, to be sure. See that one and you'll know what I mean. The 1988 "Scrooged" was a joy to watch in the theater. To this day it makes me tear up and it really hits home. Great flick. So glad you two like it!
The girl with the green glasses.....This is the 2nd of your videos that I've seen & she reminds me so much of young Nancy Sinatra.
I went to see this in the theater. I remember a kid making fun of me because he somehow associated "A Christmas Carol" with being a childish story. Flash-forward to now and the movie is revered as a comedy classic.
This is my fav. Fatman is Mel Gibson playing Santa and another dark Christmas movie, and awsome.
My favorite Christmas movie, except for maybe “It’s A Wonderful Life.” Regarding that one, I actually met “Zuzu,” as an adult about twenty years ago, and spent a couple of hours talking with her, sharing stories. Very nice lady. Anyway this one always makes me happy, the contemporary take on the classic Dickens story, full of mayhem from the beginning.
Natalie, “sometimes people’s rejection is God’s protection.” 22:46 I’ve never heard that before, and it gave me pause to consider. Yes, that can be true, though it may not seem that way at the time.
Not sure if you have seen our reaction to It’s a wonderful life but we do have one!
@@ForceOfLightEntertainment I was hoping so, and will watch it soon. I only came across your channel in the last couple of days. Seemingly all things “Big Trouble In Little China” pop up in my feed, as did your reaction, which I enjoyed thoroughly. I get a kick out of watching people see it for the first time, even if they don’t fully “get” it. I look forward to watching more reactions from you, especially classics and the occasional oddball film. I haven’t searched your playlists thoroughly yet, but I’m hoping to see my all-time favorite comedy, “What’s Up, Doc.” I love sharing it with friends, and as many times as I’ve seen it, it still makes me laugh along with my guests as much as I did the first time I saw it.
Be well!
I love watching your reactions 😂The glasses are special 😊
Thank you!! 😁
Margot Kidder plays Clare wonderfully! Besides Indy she plays Lois Lane in the original Superman! Some BIG productions!
She was like you said in " Indiana Jones - Animal House - Starman. You should do more Bill Murray. - What About Bob ? - Stripes - Meatballs - Quick Change - Rushmore
Love “what about Bob”! I think we will do more of his movies!
Karen Allen was in Animal House long before Indiana Jones, check it out
Yay! One of my favs!
Yes people were singing at the end of the movie in the theater. It was great.
Lee majors had three hit shows
Green valley
Six million dollar man
And my fav fall guy
He married farah Fawcett which Natalie has same hair dew😂
"It's Christmas Eve! It's... it's the one night of the year when we all act a little nicer, we... we... we smile a little easier, we... w-w-we... we... we cheer a little more. For a couple of hours out of the whole year, we are the people that we always hoped we would be!"
Fun Fact: This was Bill Murray's first starring role since Ghostbusters (1984).
Gun Enthusiast Fact: The sling mounted GE M134 minigun used by Lee Majors in the beginning of the movie was the same one used by Jesse Ventura in Predator (1987).
Final Bow Fact: One of the special appearances in the movie was that of actor John Houseman. He died on October 31, 1988, less than one month before the movie was released in theaters on November 23.
Murray Family Fact: All of Bill Murray's acting brothers, John Murray, Joel Murray, and Brian Doyle-Murray appeared in this movie. John's the only one that played his on-screen brother, Joel plays one of the guests at John's party, while Brian plays Bill's on-screen father.
Historical Fact: When Frank (Bill Murray) throws water on the waiter he sees burning, he says he thought he was Richard Pryor to cover his insane behavior. This is a reference to an event in Pryor's life when he, while freebasing cocaine, accidentally set himself on fire and ran down a busy street in Los Angeles.
What Script Fact: Bill Murray falling on his way out of the restaurant was unscripted and a genuine accident. Apparently, it was due to the stairs still being wet, after splashing the waiter with water, that caused him to lose his footing. Bill Murray ad-libbed most of his lines. In a 1988 interview with Philadelphia Daily News, Richard Donner discussed Murray's penchant for improvisation and described the experience of directing Murray as follows: "It's like standing on 42nd Street and Broadway, and the lights are out, and you're the traffic cop."
One of my favorite versions of a Christmas Carol, that ending lands everytime. Great reaction and have a Merry Christmas Michelle and Natalie.
Merry Christmas!!
A Christmas Carol is the original movie, the minnow was the Gilligan island boat
Thanks ladies merry Christmas to you both and the family
Thank you!! Merry Christmas Shane!!
This is my favorite Christmas movie of all time. The funniest joke to me has always been a visual gag that nobody really notices. Bill Murray’s character last name is cross, in his office is a banner with the definition, as it would appear in a dictionary of the word cross. Cross/noun something you nail someone to.
This is my favorite Christmas movie!!
Can ya'll give Vampires 1998 a chance? John Carpenter did a decent job in my opinion... watched it yesterday for the first time.
I don’t know if yinz have watched “What about Bob” another great movie from Bill Murray. I used to work at Walmart in the electronics department and we played this movie and a “Christmas Story” from Thanksgiving to Christmas every year. Keep up the good work and stay safe out there.
Have seen it many times! Great comedy! Thank you!!
I love Scroogeed
My personal favorite Christmas movie.
Yes I know I’m late!!!! LOL.
I must have watched this every other Christmas since it was made.
Perhaps I'm a masochist in denial, or why am I falling more and more in love with Carol Kane (Ghost of Christmas Present) for every time I watch this? Or perhaps it's just because she's a great actress? I haven't been able to make toast without saying "It's a ... TOASTER!" and thinking of her for the last 30 years. :D
This could be the movie that made me realise that a story can be better (or at least as good) if you move it to another setting or time period. They do it all the time with classics from theatre and opera, so why not literature?
I've been putting my family through several iterations of A Christmas Carol. The 1984 version is my favorite straight-laced version. But then there's also the Muppets, Scrooged, and the Flintstone's telling of it. Mighty fine story for everyone wanting to put their own spin on it. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!!
Didn't realize this was that old. I guess the presence of Mary Lou Retton and Lee Majors should have tipped me off. 🙄 Towel or VCR, that was pretty classic. As I recalled, they took this a bit too far IMHO, over the top so to speak. "The Night the Raindeer Died", seriously? I've always been a Robert Mitchum fan, so fun to see him.
Another funny Christmas Movie you guys might like is 1994 ’The Ref’ with Dennis Leary, Kevin Spacey and Judy Davis.
I don't understand. His TV Christmas commercial was unique and different. I would love it if more commercials were like his. I don't know about you, but all Christmas specials should have solid gold dancers. And don't lie, we all would staple antlers to the head of a rat. Merry Christmas dammit!
You look fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have love for this movie other than being a classic Murray film in that my late father was acting night security guard for the homeless shelter set. It was just cool to know he had a small part to play in keeping the production safe.
1 Bill Murray movie that people never talk about is The Man Who Knew Too Little
Cool!
Always love your reactions & Merry Christmas to you two. Since it's Christmas time, would you please react to the older Christmas movies? Miracle on 34th Street with Natalie Wood & It's a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart. Thank you so much, once again so nice to watch movies with two beautiful ladies.
It’s a Wonderful Life is next!! Thank you and Merry Christmas!!
Good Christmas flick. Hello ladies glad u enjoyed the movie

Wow, thank you!!
This was Bill Murray's first lead role in a movie since Ghostbusters! Apparently the success and popularity of Ghostbusters was so great Murray chose to a break.
