    I didn't necessarily cut the cord, I just found a much, much better one. I dropped Suddenlink (now Optimum) and switched to the new fiber optic provider in my area, Bluepeak. I was just increased to $95 month for 150 mbs by Optimum before I switched. I'm now getting 1 gb for $55 month. And that's with a 5 year price guarantee.

    Wow, auto adjustment of the volume is a very nice feature, however, I wish YT would provide which appears to be a much simpler "feature", to have the ability to erase recorded videos. Now, if only a third party provider for the time being can construct a device that adds recordings to private media, I think that would be a hit.

    Cord Cutting 2.0 I'm a little skeptical of because of the fact that telecom signals sent through wires (especially fiber) is more reliable than telecom signals sent wirelessly. On the flip side, I can see how wireless internet can be beneficial because of it's convenience. As I see it, many people will flock over to wireless internet but many may go back to wired internet because of the poorer quality of wireless telecom. I don't think this will be an industry shaker like streaming was over cable. It's good to think about though.

    I suspect you are correct that limits on AI are going to be toughest to negotiate. It might be reasonable to use generated images to reshoot a scene as part of final editing rather than calling back all the extras, but using such images in another film is unfair to the actors. It is similar to the MLBPA fight against the Reserve Clause where players won the right to become free agents after a certain number of years. My guess is there will be wealthy actors contributing to a union fund meant to allow the fight for fair treatment to continue. Get ready for reruns and reality shows.

    • @freeisalwaysme
      @freeisalwaysme Год назад +3

      Yep AI will be a big sticking point. Even among A tier actors. It's one thing to make money from a movie after the actors death. It's another you create new movies from his/her likeness after their death. And their estate not to be accommodated.

    Studios cannot agree to AI demands because that would be the end of them , new companies will start making movies and TV shows with AI and then the studios won't be able to compete. Innovation is always evolving and you must evolve with it you cannot stay in a certain era and expect good results. I expect sometime next year we will see full cartoons made by AI, TV shows and movies to follow but probably not next year.

    AI is the future and there's absolutely no stopping it. AIdoesn't require actors, writers, 3D artists, crews, locations, and the list goes on and on... Nothing's going to change the inevitability of these negotiations because even if they solve the pay problem "here" .. "offshore" is where they will go exclusive AI and the production companies here will simply shutdown and rename themselves to an offshore company. What the actors and writers are forgetting is Disney alone lost $120,000,000,000 in market value just last year. I think the simplest solution is to tie the writers, actors, crew, etc income to the profitability of their efforts. That would be interesting.

  • @TRMURRAYNY

    I am a former union delegate in the medical health field. The movie studios are making so much money. The majority of actors and writers are not. There's no way to come to the middle. The studios want to give the profits to themselves no to those who make the money the studios spend on themselves. And the issue of "owning" an actors image in AI is a horrible idea, something coming from a dystopian future movie. I could go on about studios not really caring about the art of movie making, etc., but I'll get off the soapbox now.

    • @robtucker6303
      @robtucker6303 Год назад +1

      My goodness man… you do understand how companies work right? Actually I disagree with you about the actors… major actors make way too much money but it’s America and they get paid as much as they can… why don’t they just take less money and give some to the other actors and writers?
      AI is going to replace writers
      Unions used to be wonderful and needed… but like many things, they are now mostly misguided and have become too political.
