Still, a few things are missing in the videos.
If we create a virtual machine and then power off the same and then we again power on it Will the MAC address would be the same or different?
If we clone the Virtual Machine, The MAC address would be the same or different?
Today, I got a question from my customer...
"There is a scenario in which if we scan VM mac addresses for CMDB we might find ourselves with duplicates.
A VM is created. We scan it and we add mac addresses in CMDB. The server is deleted and the mac address is returned to the pool. We don’t delete the CMDB server. A new server is created and the same mac address is used for the new server. CMDB has duplicate mac addresses.
The scenario is possible but not certain."
Note: CMDB is the Inventory of Service Now Tools wherein all server information are updated.
Can we identify esx host with Mac address?
