Thing is Stick isn't entirely wrong. Matt is a warrior; he has the fighting spirit. His friends are never gonna fully understand that conviction. The thing is, as we learn with the Defenders, Matt is so much more relaxed and comfortable with Jessica and the others. They don't question who he is and why he fights. Stick missed the part where warriors can find companionship with other warriors; and if he associated more with them, he'd feel much better about himself. Certainly better than the suffocating conflict he deals with now.
Stick didn't miss that part. He also believes other warriors are a distraction. That's why he doesn't want himself or Elektra getting too close to him.
@@wikipediaintellectual7088 Sticka seemed chummy enough with the other members of the Chaste. I dont think he is adverse to social bonds, as much as he is against dependency. He also mocked Matts decision of holding on to a civilian lifestyle, with a job and a steady home. Matt & Elektra didnt live up to his expectations though. What with Matt being 'too soft', not having the stomach of a killer. And Elektra being too far gone in the opposite direction. Funny enough. In the comics, they flunked for the reverse reasons. Matt chased down his dads murderers, to maim & kill them in revenge. So Stick deemed him too aggressive... too emotional to be a reliable asset. Elektra pretty much worshipped Stick, and wished for him to replace *her* murdered father. In an attempt to prove herself worthy as a daughter, earning his respect & love... she infiltrated the Hand, looking to destroy it from within. But instead she was corrupted by them and fell to the Dark Side of the Force.
"Woman are distraction" True sigma male on the grind
Boo hoo stick left me 😭🤣

Funnest part of Defenders was Matt "giving up the life," but the moment he sees fellow super-heroes he's right back to the suit.
