Finally an interviewer, who treats an adolescent female like an adult, respectable person and artist. No stupid teenage magazine questions about dream boys, her love life or her favorite nail polish and stuff. Well done, Tom!
I am just in awe of this interviewer. He’s completely genuine and patient and kind and is just there to listen to her as a human and not just a celebrity like most people who interview her do
Agree completely. There was so much sincerity from the interviewer. Like he was intent on creating meaningful interaction, not grabbing sound bytes. Super refreshing to see an interviewer really engage the one being interviewed. Even Billie said it in the interview, she was like "wow you really want to know, you're not just crossing questions off a list" And because she realized his sincerity she answered more sincerely instead of using the "rehearsed answers"

Totally agree! I'm 32 and so obsessed with her and her outlook on everything in life. Drinking from a metal straw.. save the planet! What and absolute breath of fresh air this young lady is 💜
There's nothing refreshing or smart about what she says. See one of my comments above: "@ He mentioned Nietzsche as if she'd know about him lol. You can tell from her interviews she's not well read or particularly intelligent or insightful. She says way too much ignorant and potentially harmful things for her young fans who idolize her to hear and adopt. She shouldn't be speaking much on things until she educates herself, gains life experience and matures. @ She is too vapid to realize the stupidity, ignorance and detrimental nature of what she said there. @ another example of stupidity: 'dope' to Napster allowing illegal downloading of music, which was horrendous for the music industry overall"
@@carpediemearth just keep in mind she's 17. A lot of artists who become popular at that age go off the rails quickly, she's still a typical teenager with her own style.
I love how he explained Napster to her with zero condescension. He doesn't just treat her like a young star... Just as an artist who's time is valuable.
Em thank you!! It sucks because you want to hear her and people just ugh idk I mean it’s cute that we all know her lyrics but at emotional songs I’d like it to be quiet
Em yeah if you watch my vlog you can tell like I tried to be quiet , I sang along too but it still sucked when everyone was screaming things like “ I love you “ when she had one little pause in lyrics idk
Do you know what I find so sad is that people who act like billie, dress like billie are often teased/bullied at school - Billie is different and she doesn’t care and she wears what she wants yet at school when someone does that, they’re penalised or teased for being different and not acting like everybody else. It’s weird what fame does to you but people are so judgemental nowadays and it’s pretty obvious why the people who were considered different or weird at school are the ones who end up being the most successful BECAUSE they’re not normal, they’re not like other girls and boys. They are themselves. I do hope Billie continues to perpetuate this whole demeanour she carries at the moment 💗
Let her have her style. I love the tomboy style. Just because you're a girl, that doesn't mean that you have to wear a skirt or a dress. I kinda dig it.
Funny because a lot of people who have a remotely similar style to Billie get attacked for copying her. It's sad because a lot of the time it's not the case. A lot of people dress like her
I just discovered Billie about a week ago and I can't stop listening to everything she does. She said she got a lot of inspiration from the Beatles, she is 17 years old. Hello! I got a lot of my inspiration from the Beatles too...and I'm 64. She was made to do this, it is in her soul. I hope she can continue on this wonderful heading and make beautiful performance art for a long time to come. WOW!
She looks so sad in here. She’s been through a lot but now I’m happy because she is watching everything from another point of view and she’s in a good place now. We luv u babe, enjoy Hawaii you deserve it
i agree with her on the “if u didn’t take a picture it didn’t happen” which sucks bc sometimes i wish i could just enjoy things and be in the moment because that’s what life should be, your memories, and your memories only should matter. i actually hate taking pictures because i just wanna enjoy my time but that’s my rant for today hope u enjoyed lol (i also frikin love music)
wami osh I’m the same way. But I literally can’t stop. Which sounds so crazy to say, but it’s true and me acknowledging it won’t make me stop doing it. It’s awful.
But that's the thing. If you didn't take a picture it didn't happen... for everyone who wasn't there. But it still happened for you, it's become your memory and yours alone. Life isn't meant to share with everyone (Billie says this in the video). Everyone has their own life to live and your memories are yours. It happened, you experienced it, and you changed from it. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You have pictures inside your head, no camera necessary.
Me too and I'm not great at taking pics so I don't want to stand there taking 30 pics per event instead of just enjoying and knowing I made my nana's day versus telling everyone I went out with her.
Why do I feel like I just sat down and had a casual conversation with this girl. She holds herself in an amazing way. She's going to go very, very far.
"If one person likes it then you're creating art in that persons brain" UGH literally why I love her. Was feeling down about my own music but hearing her say things like that encourages me so much
Love the interviewer. Billie is so genuine and I love how she isn’t all painted up. She’s herself. However, I hope that chick that drew that photo is getting royalties!!!
This interviewer asks great questions imo, this one is good idk what everyone’s talking about “they don’t get along”, what? He’s asking the questions that really let us get a taste of what she’s thinking and what inspires her
I think people really forget Billie is a TEENAGER. teenagers have funny attitudes and are sassy and angsty and that's how just how it is... whether she is a musical god or not. BUT in general, she's so smart in her thought patterns and i love who she is. I really can't wait to see where she goes when she's older.
what i love... at the beginning there's this awkwardness.... after less then 2 minutues.... there's 2 people just having an open and honest conversation, This is good, this interviewer...... keep him around and keep him happy within his job... you have gold right here.
You think fame is a good thing? Obviously fame isn't going to magically make your life better. If anything, the attention makes it worse. I'm worried about her.
Pros to the interviewer for trying and trying to get a real not 'routine' answer from Billie. :p. Her reaction to his persistence is cute . BILLIE is cute.
I know no one will believe me but I had a vision of someone like Billie. A couple years ago before I even knew her, I used to daydream about this girl with blue hair. The girl in my daydream was a little bit different but creepily similar to Billie. I daydreamed that she would rule the 2020s and become a legend. The girl in my daydream even wore lots of black and chains like Billie. I'm not saying I'm psychic, but if my daydream tells me anything, this girl is going to become insanely famous. She's going to lead the next generation. This is just what was in my dream.
I love how she is never like ‘you’re wrong’. Like she never disagrees with people but still has a clear opinion. I mean that’s a hard skill to have. I just love her 💖
it always makes me cry to hear tons of people singing along at a show, even when I don't know the artist super well. art and productions involving lots of people being pulled off successfully just moves me to tears every damned time.

13:26 she was talking about her fans having her back when people mispronounce her name and then I felt like she looked dead at me, but then I realized it was just a camera
This is probably the best interview I've ever watched. They usually make me so uncomfortable and seem so forced and awkward. But his questions were so well thought out! And hearing how her mind works is always fascinating. Such an old soul. I just pray she can stay strong and keep creating!
After every interview I see with Billie I just love her more and more! She’s just such a down to earth, real and smart person! She’s an inspiration to me, even though I’m 5 years older than her
I've been into music for 50 years and this is one of a handful of artists who have truly interested me in ages. Of course there have been some incredible artists along the way but something about her touches me in an incredibly different way. I hope she's allowed to grow at her own pace and record what she wants. Let the suits make money off of the half naked young women singing songs written for them by lecherous old men sitting behind their desks. She's the real deal.
I feel that artists express their true emotions through music. There are no right or wrongs. Whether it's depressing or happy songs. We all are humans and we should understand each others. If you listen to a sad or happy song, you don't have to relate or connect to like it or even like the artist. Sometimes the lyrics just hit you so deep, & you're just amaze or just simply UNDERSTAND.... Maybe that's just what they want, to have people to hear them out. Its okay to express your true emotions, cuz you're just who you are. #TBH #TBT
What I like about her is just that she is so different... she gives me these vibes where it's okay to be yourself. I love her so much I can't put it in words.
I like the old soul vibe I get from her. She likes music that’s not popular, and wants to help out others that are creating true art just like her. I think we can all learn at least one thing from this 16 year old genius. I love you billie, take a break whenever you need it 💕
How does someone this young write lyrics like she does? Obviously she hasn't experienced that much in life. I am amazed as to how someone so young is able to express mature emotions at that age. Kudos to her of course. Humans are evolving obviously at an incredible timeline.
You don't find humans like her easily, what a girl. An amazing artist and a wonderful human being. I somehow managed to exist the same time as her and I am so thankful for that, so thankful
17:56 when she say "thanks", it's a really magical moment, i can't explain why but she seem so grateful inside when she say that and seem ust so candid, i love that
I love how he conducted the interview and the whole tone of their conversation is so calm and I actually sat thru the whole thing which is unusual for me being super restless!
ive been watching a bunch of billie’s interviews recently and that guy is amazing at interviewing. like he’s connecting with her while letting her be in charge of the conversation. idk i think hes dope
This has to be the best interview I've seen of Billie Eilish so far. She is such a spectacularly special person which we were able to get a bit more glimpse of cause of the incredible questions that Tom power asked!! She is amazing musician no doubt but she is one heck of a human being. Loved this, thank you q for this.
I'm a 43 year old man who plays guitar. I don't use social media past youtube comments. If you want to connect with fans, you do it with your craft not a selfie and a witty tweet. I didn't find about Billie because of instagram, or twitter. I didn't see her on Facebook. I found her listening to new music I hadn't heard (something as a creative helps influence new avenues of art) and was hooked. I showed her to my wife, who is 40 and not very musically interested, fell in love. The bottom line is, when you are true to your soul, when you try to live in truth, the masses will find you eventually, I am just glad the universe showed me Billie and her brother before I left this place. How proud I can be of other peoples children is amazing.
Her thoughts have changed so much. In newer interviews she shares how she’s terrifiedddddd of her loved ones dying so so much. It’s nice to watch her grow and change. Totally here for it.
I love that he lets her talk, unlike most interviewers who interrupt and cut her off to add a funny side bit or ask another question before she's even done with the first. Also, I love that the conversation is so relaxed and genuine and soft almost, even though Billie will deny being soft every chance she gets haha. It was just calming and refreshing to hear, a nice change of space.
Dude this interview is so good the interviewer is really good he is talking so calm to her it’s more like they are friends and his questions are really good

I'm 65 and I'm also a huge fan. I love her music and the way she's so "normal". Can't wait to see what she does as she gets older.
@@carpediemearth just keep in mind she's 17. A lot of artists who become popular at that age go off the rails quickly, she's still a typical teenager with her own style.
I'm 60 and am totally impressed by this young lady. Thanks Billie and Finneas for putting yourself out there for us!
I love how he explained Napster to her with zero condescension. He doesn't just treat her like a young star... Just as an artist who's time is valuable.
One wonders if she is so effusive about it now, considering how many albums she would be selling if Napster neve existed.
it hurts that we cant actually hear her at shows bc of the crowd
Em thank you!! It sucks because you want to hear her and people just ugh idk I mean it’s cute that we all know her lyrics but at emotional songs I’d like it to be quiet
@@gracejacobs4364 yeah i know everybody wants to idk have fun or smth but at emotional songs i want to hear her not screaming people around me
Em yeah if you watch my vlog you can tell like I tried to be quiet , I sang along too but it still sucked when everyone was screaming things like “ I love you “ when she had one little pause in lyrics idk
Really? I thought this was the one fanbase who didn't do that, they're messing it up and I hate it.
@@Blackmello they didnt do that like year ago maybe but know they do

Billie created her own style. She litterally OWNS it
However long you took to write this comment, thank you, there should be more people who think similarly to you
helps to be homeschooled.
It’s awful.
And no picture will do justice anyway...
She needs to take a break she deserves a time to rest that's all.

she really did
13:25 when she looked at the camera my heart stopped

"If one person likes it then you're creating art in that persons brain" UGH literally why I love her.
Was feeling down about my own music but hearing her say things like that encourages me so much
all i want is to hang out with her listen to music and just talk like no phones just me and her hanging out. that is deadass my dream
She does remind me of X too honestly.

Billie should call her fans "Billie Goats"
OH MY GOD YES!!!!
I fw it.
Omg i love it
Or Hillbillies lol Feelbillies
reagan rose sooo cute.
Love the interviewer. Billie is so genuine and I love how she isn’t all painted up. She’s herself. However, I hope that chick that drew that photo is getting royalties!!!
She should really send that girl a fat check for using her drawing
I love billie’s personality
This interviewer asks great questions imo, this one is good idk what everyone’s talking about “they don’t get along”, what? He’s asking the questions that really let us get a taste of what she’s thinking and what inspires her
I think people really forget Billie is a TEENAGER. teenagers have funny attitudes and are sassy and angsty and that's how just how it is... whether she is a musical god or not. BUT in general, she's so smart in her thought patterns and i love who she is. I really can't wait to see where she goes when she's older.
Billie doesn’t even know me but she has helped me so much🌙
what i love... at the beginning there's this awkwardness.... after less then 2 minutues.... there's 2 people just having an open and honest conversation,
This is good,
this interviewer...... keep him around and keep him happy within his job... you have gold right here.
she is the most raw and genuine celebrity i know. and shes so young like 5 yrs older than me lmao
OMG I THOUGHT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT THE APP MUSICAL.LY TOO
she sounds so tired... its kinda sad to see how she seems a little sad with her fame
fame always tires people out, and as great fame and popularity is, so is privacy and having a 'normal' life
You think fame is a good thing? Obviously fame isn't going to magically make your life better. If anything, the attention makes it worse. I'm worried about her.
From all celebrities I've followed I notice that fame sucks. It's probably cool the first week then you're over it
Fame comes with a price. Fame is made to seem so glamorous but most of these famous people aren’t as happy as you think.
Or maybe she’s on tour, played a show the night before the interview and she’s just tired? Stop trying to read what isn’t there
I just want to sit an talk in her red hell room for hours I never get tired of her just talking I love Miss Billie Eilish 🖤

Hello !! Lmao I fr thought miss was when u are married 🤦🏾♀️ homeschooled
You can tell Billie hasn’t had any sleep she looks so tired x
i’m still in love with this interview to this day
Pros to the interviewer for trying and trying to get a real not 'routine' answer from Billie.
This is just what was in my dream.
idk I can believe it love

God you sound dumb.
She is literal perfection. Words cannot describe how much I love her.

She’s just a normal kid. I don’t get the hype.
She's been media trained and he's a damn good interviewer 😂😂
I hope she will be okay. I missed her 'happy'

i feel like they have such a good connection. the interviewer is so sweet and you can tell Billie was really happy and complimented when he wanted to know more about her and have a deep interview about her and who she is. i love her so much 💙
13:26 she was talking about her fans having her back when people mispronounce her name and then I felt like she looked dead at me, but then I realized it was just a camera
This is probably the best interview I've ever watched. They usually make me so uncomfortable and seem so forced and awkward. But his questions were so well thought out! And hearing how her mind works is always fascinating. Such an old soul. I just pray she can stay strong and keep creating!
The longer i stare at Billie, the more i see Scarlett Johansson
Ahaha for real! And it's all about the stare
Oh damn
But with better eyes
Oh for sure! I was just thinking that! Especially the way her mouth moves when she talks!
No lie
Interviewer is really smart and drives the conversatjon in a very honest way.
#TBH #TBT
Xee Chang you’re awesome
Alondra Margary Thx ☺💁♀️
What I like about her is just that she is so different... she gives me these vibes where it's okay to be yourself. I love her so much I can't put it in words.
I cried hearing her say that we are her friends 😭😭 I haven’t been to any of her shows tho but I want to go sooooooooooooooo bad 😭😭😭😭😭😭!
It is marketing
XXIII ok and I didn’t need to know that, I could’ve been happy to know she said we were friends i didn’t actually cry because I was being sarcastic
This interviewer is awesome and Billie is such a unique person love her!
Genuinely the best interviewer I have ever seen. Congrats Tom.
"Love matters"

9:34 what a queen scratching her armpit
I like the old soul vibe I get from her. She likes music that’s not popular, and wants to help out others that are creating true art just like her. I think we can all learn at least one thing from this 16 year old genius. I love you billie, take a break whenever you need it 💕
What a great interview I love how genuine he was and how he asked questions that weren't typical to her in other interviews.
I’ve seen hours worth of Billie’s interviews but this is by far the best one. Just hearing her be so real was...amazing👍thank you Billie
How does someone this young write lyrics like she does? Obviously she hasn't experienced that much in life. I am amazed as to how someone so young is able to express mature emotions at that age. Kudos to her of course. Humans are evolving obviously at an incredible timeline.
Just Hope is a part of their focus......
Her bother writes and co-writes her songs and produces her music.
She speaks the hard truth and I love her so much she's such a role model and a huge inspiration to everyone out there
You don't find humans like her easily, what a girl.
A friend introduced me to Bellyache. I fell in love and never knew the lyrics... the music spoke to me. She's amazing... love her
ive been watching a bunch of billie’s interviews recently and that guy is amazing at interviewing. like he’s connecting with her while letting her be in charge of the conversation. idk i think hes dope
man i find interviews or podcasts with her so relaxing
This has to be the best interview I've seen of Billie Eilish so far. She is such a spectacularly special person which we were able to get a bit more glimpse of cause of the incredible questions that Tom power asked!! She is amazing musician no doubt but she is one heck of a human being. Loved this, thank you q for this.
Tom Power is a brilliant conversationalist. He's very sensitive and adaptive. And he is truly interested in what she is saying. True respect.
she's so humble and beautiful wow
Y is a 🤕🤕😱🤕🤕🏃🤕

I love that he lets her talk, unlike most interviewers who interrupt and cut her off to add a funny side bit or ask another question before she's even done with the first. Also, I love that the conversation is so relaxed and genuine and soft almost, even though Billie will deny being soft every chance she gets haha. It was just calming and refreshing to hear, a nice change of space.
This guy who interviewed her is the most chill interviewer I've ever seen
